Ya, I just changed my plan last week and it honestly went extremely smooth, I had no problems whatsoever. Not to mention in the past I have used their online chat customer service and was extremely useful and helpful.
In the past two years their customer service has improved greatly.
He said for Palm OS, which are the old apps from the Treos / Centros/ Lifedrives / etc.. This is an emulator which will run the old stuff. But I guess you could say that it has 30k games, but thats like saying a gameboy color which can run gameboy games, had 100000 games the day it launched.
The form factor is fantastic. The Web OS is more powerful than the iPhone. The processor power blows the iPhone away too. IPhone Fanboys are just jealous :)
I'd buy one at launch if this had a landscape keyboard. Well that and if my ATT contract was up. Gets costly to pay for a new phone/contract, plus early termination fee. Competition is good, and the pre definitely gives the iPhone some great competition that no other phone has been able to do.
I don't often leave comments, but... Seriously? The screen is tiny? It's 3.1 inches? Sure that's not as big as some other devices such as the 3.5 inch iPhone, but it's certainly not tiny.
The tinniest I'll accept is probably the blackberry storm, which I already own, but the storm has a bigger res then both i believe.
The pre's OS is great and all but one more thing I don't really like is the portrait keyboard. I wish it was done for landscape mode. It would feel more stable that way for me.

No where in my comment did I ever say that there are more Palm developers, I just said that the program that Apple has set up allows people to make easy money for good ideas. There are incentives for developing for the iPhone, the palm will have to come up with something similar if they want to keep the phone alive. Sprint has lost waaaay to many customers.

I know you can use your fingers most of the time, but you'll also end up pressing things incorrectly since the buttons on the old Palm apps are designed for stylus use. They make the buttons a lot smaller since using it with a stylus was expected.
Sure you can go and try to press them with your finger, but your finger has about 4x the width of the stylus! That's gonna be a lot more imprecise. On the normal Pre interface, using your finger works because the UI was designed for fat fingers...
...With the old Palm apps, they're made for a stylus, once again.
It has nothing to do with the capacitive screen type of the Pre, it's just that all the buttons on the old Palm apps will be too small for your finger.
the ui dat u see here is an emulator for running old palm os apps ... this emulator itself i think is one card out of multiple cards dat palm pre supports .... which means when u flick this thing up (like u do for all cards of the pre) .. u should get back to the Real palm pre UI .... its all there .... so don't worry ;)

I kind of agree, but my only qualm with Apple is that they locked it to one network. AT&T is a good network and all, but it just doesn't seem to fit with the "breaking the mold" advertising they had back in the early days. They have evolved to be a big business, thinking only about profit and not about bringing technology to the people. If you had a network other than AT&T you'd be saying the same thing as those people.
Well I had an ipod touch, I think its safe to say I understand the feel of the iPhone UI. It is slow, very very buggy, you have to use itunes which is even more buggy, no multitasking is a big concern, and there are a lot of other complaints that you have probably heard a thousand times, but those are the biggest concerns of mine.
It's nice to see these kinds of videos on here. There's a lot of silly nonsense things all around youtube, but I'm glad to watch things that actually have substance. haha!!
Depending on what you want out of a phone, there are plenty of phones already out there that are better. I personally do think the Pre will be. I just can't stand the over used phrase.

I like Sprint, have no problem with them at all. Customer service has been great since they made the effort to make it matter. AT&T on the other hand could care less. Most of their techs don't know squat.
That's funny. I know a lot of people who like Sprint. They have the fastest 3G (in practice) in a lot of cities and they are by far the cheapest. They just suck at advertising and people with short attention spans can't remember anything past the iPhone. 2 or 3 years ago the Sprint/Palm combo was the only real game in town for real pro smartphones.
The cheapest? How? Can you get 600 minutes and 400 texts with tethered internet for $65 plus tax? If you can, I will become a Sprint user. Last time I checked I would get less minutes for a $40 plan, and the data was much more with tethering.
Kind of shows how inadequate touch controls are for stylus apps as he shows off the medicine app, even if the emulation is extremely competent.

Apple AppStore has serious developer incentives. That is why there are 30,000 apps in a little over a year. 50,000 stale old legacy apps that can be run in a shitty touchscreen emulator (oops i launched the calculator) does not really matter. How many apps are there for the WebOS specifically? I realize it is a new OS, but that is kind of my point. You can't compare the Appstore, which is full of useful working apps designed specifically for the iPhone, with a bunch of old ported apps. DICKHOLE

No where in my comment did I ever say that there are more Palm developers, I just said that the program that Apple has set up allows people to make easy money for good ideas. There are incentives for developing for the iPhone, the palm will have to come up with something similar if they want to keep the phone alive. Sprint has lost waaaay to many customers.
The apps that run on the Palm are not programed in Objective-C, things like games will be half of what they are on the iPhone. Get over it

Attend school at UW, work at Berbee (CDW subid) and use CORPORATE exchange from work with iPhone, I don't need to sync anything from online (Gmail etc). Went to Belize last year for fun. Have plenty of friends (outside of dingy basements)

I know you can use your fingers most of the time, but you'll also end up pressing things incorrectly since the buttons on the old Palm apps are designed for stylus use. They make the buttons a lot smaller since using it with a stylus was expected.
Sure you can go and try to press them with your finger, but your finger has about 4x the width of the stylus! That's gonna be a lot more imprecise. On the normal Pre interface, using your finger works because the UI was designed for fat fingers...

It has nothing to do with the capacitive screen type of the Pre, it's just that all the buttons on the old Palm apps will be too small for your finger.

the ui dat u see here is an emulator for running old palm os apps ... this emulator itself i think is one card out of multiple cards dat palm pre supports .... which means when u flick this thing up (like u do for all cards of the pre) .. u should get back to the Real palm pre UI .... its all there .... so don't worry ;)

I kind of agree, but my only qualm with Apple is that they locked it to one network. AT&T is a good network and all, but it just doesn't seem to fit with the "breaking the mold" advertising they had back in the early days. They have evolved to be a big business, thinking only about profit and not about bringing technology to the people. If you had a network other than AT&T you'd be saying the same thing as those people.

Well I had an ipod touch, I think its safe to say I understand the feel of the iPhone UI. It is slow, very very buggy, you have to use itunes which is even more buggy, no multitasking is a big concern, and there are a lot of other complaints that you have probably heard a thousand times, but those are the biggest concerns of mine.

I like Sprint, have no problem with them at all. Customer service has been great since they made the effort to make it matter. AT&T on the other hand could care less. Most of their techs don't know squat.

They are making GSM versions but the network hasn't been announced for it yet. It might not be available on GSM in the states.

That's funny. I know a lot of people who like Sprint. They have the fastest 3G (in practice) in a lot of cities and they are by far the cheapest. They just suck at advertising and people with short attention spans can't remember anything past the iPhone. 2 or 3 years ago the Sprint/Palm combo was the only real game in town for real pro smartphones.

The cheapest? How? Can you get 600 minutes and 400 texts with tethered internet for $65 plus tax? If you can, I will become a Sprint user. Last time I checked I would get less minutes for a $40 plan, and the data was much more with tethering.
