  • Lovely Dogs Check out my video, I have a Dogue de Bordeaux

  • Awesome dogs. Thanks for putting the video up

  • Is that pudgy thing a mastiff?

  • It is public access video and you can use it as you wish.

  • would you mind if i used your video in a project?

  • Are these both your dogs?

  • i got a dane, wish he could play with other danes, he plays nice with dogs. but we cant find no danes where i live. hmmmm

  • i want a great dane and im 13 ://

  • those dogs make humans look small

  • they dont look overweight, my great dane is nearly 40 inches tall (much more than average) and in the high 100's. any less and it would be starvation for him...sometimes big dogs are just bigger!

  • Cute

  • park rape :(

  • That dog just doesnt give up lol

  • My Dane always gets humped at the dog park as well.

  • He is like, a yo bitch (pun intended) let me get sum, she's like fuck off, i only fuck white dogs. LOL

  • man great danes really look like they move in slow motion huh? lol. they're so cool :) i've always wanted one.

  • i think austin has a thing for boy dogs lololo

  • I wonder if Danes dog breeds later paw?

  • What! Are you trying say my baby (Austin) is fat? I think they are big bones...husky...dogs!

  • anoying music....

  • They are overweight aren't they?

  • HE THINKS HE'S PEOPLE!!

  • Love it. Must be alot of Danes in your area, When we go to the dog park my Dane is the only one there....If we do on ocassion run into another one its like an instant connection solified with a friendly lean! Danes are the best. I have had and do have other breeds but nothing beats a Dane! Love, Love, Love em! Dont be a trader and get another breed later, you wont be as happy;)

  • Nowhere near 190 pounds but nice dogs nonetheless

  • Yes your Right, Austin is nowhere near 190lbs. Just took him to the vet because of a rash and he wieghed in at 218lbs. I am trying to get him to lose weight because he is way to big. When the video was take he was a little bigger than Dexter and was just over 190lbs.

  • @doctortux

I wasn't trying to get on your case...

Most owners of big breeds exaggerate size for some strange reason.

Great Danes (real name of course is Deutsche Dogge) are not supposed to be anywhere near 200 pounds. They do not have the frame, bone structure nor do they have the musculature to carry that kind of weight.

Only people who simply don't have a clue about Great Danes think they should be 200 pounds or more.

Feeding a dog to obesity is borderline cruelty by the way. Good luck.

  • I agree with what you are saying. Austin is my first dog of my adult life and I may not be the best owner but we sure have fun together. He has the coolest personality. I do have Austin him on a diet but he is are really big bone dog and has the largest paws I have ever seen on a dog which may be a sign that he was destine to being on the up side of big. I swim him 3 to 4 times a week during the summer and once or twice a week during the winter. I hope to get him down to around 190lb.

  • @doctortux

I know what you mean... Danes do have a way to get into your heart.

If you are interested to see what I mean when I say that great danes don't have the kind of bone to carry that kind of weight I will send you a link to see what a 200 pound plus dog has to have as far as paw size and thickness of bone is concerned. Let me assure you that literally 2 toes of one of my dogs are wider than a Danes entire paw. It is this kind of bone that allows a dog of that size to carry the weight

  • @doctortux

dont degrade yourself to responding to people on youtube.

  • @MandyLionWWIII Neither of these dogs are over weight in the least, so what the hell are you getting at? Dont post comments if there negative ones that arent warranted.

  • @surleyguru

Before you say anything I suggest you read AND understand the thread. If you don't comprehend what is being said I suggest you sit back, try and grow a brain and then come back new and improved... Sound good?

  • @doctortux I got a cat named Dexter. :) I named him after the Showtime Dexter...hee hee :-D

  • @montakor39 Wow. You have an interactive chew toy for dogs.

  • lol talk about timber @ 2:23 ish

  • So is that park near the Great Dane capitol of the world or something? I noticed there are quite a few danes there. Also, does Austin Gray not realize the difference between a male and a female dog or is he a friendly mounter?

  • Great video. Lol i just realized the song in the backround is a Madonna knock off!

  • Hey doctortux,

Both of these dogs are beautiful and extremely healthy looking and happy! Can you provide the name or website of the breeder where you obtained these two? I am interested in future litters they may have...

  • I liked the part from 2:23-2:27. Too funny.

  • Strange question:

    Who sing this music?

  • Sound track is a midi of Madonna's - Rayoflite

  • those are some good looking danes i have a english mastiff great dane mix 7 months old and 108 pounds i hope he gets as tall as those danes

  • hello. i am about to get an english mastiff-great dane mix also. could you send me some pictures and tell me about him? thanks.

  • i have 2 greatdane mastiff crosses that are the best dogs you could ever wish for ! the are brothers from diff. litters i would love to see a photo of yours !

  • If you want to see more pictures of Austin, go to google images and search for Merle Great Danes. The first couple if images are from the Bajodog website where I have posted a photo gallery of images from 6wks old to the current time. Enjoy.

  • its not terrified.there just playing!its cute!i have 2 dogs and 3 cats.

  • That is not playing. That is the grey dog attempting to get dominance in the park, and the other dogs rejecting it.

  • i have two grate danes

  • Dexter is huge, you should really challenge the guinness world record with this dog

  • love the video but the music is enough to make me leave

    bye.

  • this dane dog is almost look alike a weimaraner dog

  • scooby is a great dane

  • isnt scooby a great dane?

  • No! The Scooby is 50% Terrier and 50% Terrified! Haha!

Austin the gray Great Dane is 100% Great Dane and 100% terrified! He is a 200 lb chicken. Yes! He is now 200 lbs at 2 years and one month old.

I am hoping he is done growing because has become bigger than every one in the family.

  • Would you say that 190-200 lbs is kinda average for danes who are around 37-39 inches at shoulders? (kinda normal build with normal proportions) the reason i ask is that the former big dog gibson was said to be nearly 43 at shoulders but weighed only 170-180 and he was NOT more skinny than dexter, thats strange!

  • Agustin and Dexter are two of the biggest dogs I have seen. Dexter is the tallest dog i have seen but Austin is the biggest. He is now 212lbs. That's a big dog. Dexter is full grown at 192lbs. Austin is just over 2 1/5 years but I am hoping he is done growing he is an impressive beast.

As for average for 37-39 inches? Danes should not get over 175 lbs but both these dogs are big bone boy's and are out of the norm for danes.

  • At the same time iknow several owners who overexaggerate their dogs, at "only" 36 inches tall i really doubt austin weighs 212 lbs

  • Yes you are right about overexaggertions. I can't tell you how many times I heard about the buddy that has a 230lb dog and yet I never see a dog bigger than Austin. I know they are out there. I am not hoping Austin become the biggest dog. I am counting the days that he can begin swimming again because he has gotten to big this final winter of growth. if you are a doughter and want to see a 212lb Great Dane, Come to Portland Oregon to Hondo or Gabriel Dog Parks and see Austin for yourself.

  • i which i could! i love big dogs, but i live in sweden, in talk of overexaggertions... did you hear the guy who claimed he had the tallest dog, george? he said he weighed 245 lbs(!) lmao. search for him here at youtube

  • I really do not want a 245lb dog. If the dog is bigger that the owner it becomes a problem because when you walk a big don and people come out of the dark, the dog gets really excide and people usually will freeze in their tracks. I guess they heard that when you confront a bear, play dead. It probably works for bears but giant bred dogs are hard to fool. Austin is a really friendly dog but at night he gets scared easy.

  • @doctortux Never had a problem with any of my big dogs. If you don't train the bid dogs THEN you have a problem.

  • What? Austin has had no training and he is the perfect dog! He does not wonder, he won't touch any thing on the counters, great with kids and otherdogs. He does not do any damage around the house. I really can't think of any issues he has except he wants to be close to me all the time and it is hard for me to leave him with any one. He tries really hard to please. I only have to tell him once and he listens to me. He is more like an obedient teenager than a dog.

  • @doctortux I wasn't speaking of any formal training (maybe i worded it wrong) i mean just teaching your dog to mind you. but it is possible to have a dog bigger than you and it be totaly fine. my boys have never ever had a taken a dog training class or lesson. just like you we just tell them once and they learn not to do something. My comment was more about the owners who are in denial and let their dogs act up and don't do anything to stop them when their behaivor is obviously not good.

  • @doctortux my response was to the coment you made about "if the dog is bigger than the owner it will be a problem" in my mind no it won't if it minds you. I do just fine with my 230lb mastiff. no formal training for him he just knows how to mind like your dogs.

  • The issue with having a dog bigger than you is not discipline for instance, when I open the door to the garage to go somewhere, I have to be really careful because the dog does not stay home alone! He wants to go and he will run you over if you don’t out of the way. When you play tug a war with him, he does not let you win very often. When you go to bed, you need to go to bed before he does or there will not be any room left on the bed and it is hard to wake him up to move over.

  • @doctortux So your dogs do this? when you open the door you can tell them to wait and make them mind. you don't have to allow them to run you over so that is fixable in my eyes. When you play tug yeah the dog might win but who cares that doesn't hurt anyone. When you go to bed a dog can be told to get of easily if you just teach it to mind. Your dogs are perfect remember so why do you think this is a problem? its what you allow them to do.

  • People do it with every breed.

At Petsmart I always have Rottweiler and Doberman owners coming in saying their dogs are this and that, bigger than my Danes ect.

I usually laugh at the comment but they bring their dogs back the next day to 'prove me wrong'... sure enough, the dog is nowhere close to the over-exaggerated height and/or weight.

Some people are obsessed with having the biggest/best things sadly.

  • Just want to add that I don't work at that wretched hive of scum and villainy (petsmart); just visit once in a while.

  • obsessed = sandy hall ;)

  • Austin pin a Rottweiler at the dog part this past monday and I had to pull him off of the dog not because he was mad but because I though the poor dog was going to get his life squeesed out of him. I actually perferred Austin when he was 140-150. Now the other dogs don't want to play with him so I get all his attention. It's painful. My arms are black and blue from playing with him. If you want to have the biggest dog? I wish you good luck be cause it's more then what you think.

  • Nah. Males tend to fall into the range of 34"-38" and 160 to 180 lbs. My boys are both 38" & 180 lbs (half Euro/half American lines)

Pure Euro Danes get even heavier exceeding 220lbs quite frequently depending on lines.

  • Interesting info there!! Gibson was said to weigh 170-180 lbs and he had kinda normal proportions, by no means skinny or either massive but still average in great dane standards. He fits weill into a 38 inch description ;)

  • 36 inches isn't too uncommon in a Great Dane, honestly ....

The producer of this video probably knows this but I would love to set it clear that The Great Dane is not in the top ten tallest or heaviest dog breeds. They are however, in the top three tallest AKC registered dog breeds. Great Danes are not the tallest dog breed, though. They are great dogs, though! You should clear up the dominance in these dogs, too. You should be the pack-leader without ever hitting or abusing your animals.

  • @MolosserKing

I hate when people talk about Great Danes knowing nothing about the breed.

Whether we're talking registered or unregistered breeds here the Great Dane is the 2nd tallest only behind the IW on average and they are most certainly top 10 (I'd put it closer to top 8) for weight with the males averaging 160-200 pounds.

None of this matters to me of course but just letting you know you're incorrect.

    Special animals, Gorgeous dogs.

  • we have had this discussion before, kangals ARE at same size as danes and wolfhoulds you cant ignore that =)

  • So odd seeing a boxer with a tail! I have a Blue Dane (8 yrs old F), a boxer with the stubby tail, and a three year old Mantle female. Wish we could go to this dog park!

  • Where did you see the Boxer? ( Sorry, I didn't watch the full video! ) I hope your not talking about the Bullmastiff at the beginning .... Yes, that Bullmastiff was pretty small for a Bullmastiff, but still much larger than a Boxer.

  • The Danes in the video make the Bullmastiff look small.

  • Oooops, I accidentally gave the comment above a thumbs down... I don't know how to fix it....

  • I think the Bailey & Rocky puppies are fantastic... It's beyond sad that there will be no more of them. Those two produced some huge/sweet/beautiful babies :0) I'm glad that you enjoy hiim as much as you do. It's wonderful :0) Have a good day.

  • What a GREAT video! I'm assuming this is Brian? This is Kathy... Susan's friend with Maverick, Kya, Roxy, etc... Anyway susan forwarded this on to me so I had to take a peek. I love the way the boys play together... Like they don't notice anyone else.

  • Hey Kathy, Thank you for viewing the video. What do you think of the Bailey and Rocky puppies? I have been greatly blessed with Austin. He is closer to being human than dog. He is a very smart dog and playful. He is great with kids, dogs, cats and just about any other animal. His only handicapt is his size. He has gotten a lot larger then I was expecting.

  • I hate to tell you this but, Austin just weighed in at Pet Smart at 197lbs and he is not even 2 years old. I know Great Danes don't usually go over 175 lbs but Austin and Dexter are a lot bigger that most Great Danes. Did you see the other Great Danes in the video. Those are the norm for Great Danes.

  • I hate to tell ya this, but there is no way they weigh over 175. They are beautiful though. Seems like fun :)
