  • i remember watching this when i was a little kid and being scared,my father used to say,"The headless horsemen comes tonight, and tonight he comes for you!" To scare me LOL. good memories

  • I still like the Disney one way better.

  • I'D like to kiss Jeff Goldblum...

  • I sat through ten parts of this just to find out who or what was the headless horseman, and I still don't know... So unsatisfying.

  • interesting now i wonder if they actually saw the headless horsemen

  • this movie sucks no killing i thout this is a horror movie

  • @bcrosek watch a different movie like dawn of the dead or dog soldiers or freddy vs jason any of those movies those are for you and they are horror movies with blood guts and has killing in it

  • I HATE DAT KATRINA B****!! DATS MEH SISTAS NAME!! SHE TOOK MY MAN AND MEH SIS NAME OH H*** NAW!! SHE A FAGGOT! SHE A HO! SHE A TRAMP! SHE A TRICK! AND A . . . . . BASTART A** HEFFA!

  • Ok, question for anyone that has read the book. Is there a Palmer, Fred Dutcher, Thelma or Fritz?

  • @Attila709 yes in real life in fact there is actually a town called sleepy hollow in hudson river of tarrytown which is greensburg the actual name of it and there is a national geographic show on youtube about it

  • @chrisinator1990 Okay, I already knew that, and it wasn't what I was asking.

  • @Attila709 According to my dad, who majored in history, no such characters ever existed in Washington Irving's original story. Palmer, Fritz, and Thelma are all made up for this film. Fred Dutcher, Brom's friend in this movie, may also be made up as well, even though Brom had a gang of "Sleepy Hollow boys" as they were known as. Hope that answers your question.

  • like it: after chasing, Ichabod speaks with clumsy, frosen lips- makes it realistic.

  • They use to have this on every october. Thank you for posting this. Oddly enough Jeff Glodblum could still play this role.

  • 0:27 You raised some daughter, man. But really do you want Brom Bones as a son in law?

  • They had hot chocolate in those days? o:

  • Ick! Ichabod is chasing the real headless horseman!

So here he really marries Katrina, well I supposed most of us wanted this but in the real story he runs away from Sleepy Hollow. Besides in the book, Ichabod was really after Katrina's fortune

  • @ariadnaeu Even though it never explicitly said so I always figured Brom was likewise also eying the Van Tassel estate more so than he was just courting Katrina.

  • Ick! Ichabod is chasing the real headless horseman!

  • Ick! Ichabod is chasing the real headless horseman!

  • 1:30 his laugh is win ,lol

  • jeff goldblum is hot^_^ even still today i would totally hit that shit :P

  • @njoinvisablegirl ME TOO!

  • Thanks for posting : )

  • Thanks for posting it StarQuakeBubble! I love this original version. What a great Casting and performance. I remember it was back in 1984 and I was 10 when I watched it for the very first time with my brother on a spooky Sunday night. All the original versions are always the best and the script and story telling is much better. Thanks again and God bless!

  • Yeah, I remember seeing it back in the 80's too. They just don't make show's like this anymore. Thanks for putting it on!

  • haven't seen this since it was 1st on tv! enjoyed it! thanks for posting it!

  • I first saw this when I was 12 way back in 1980! Thank you so much for posting it so I was able to watch it again with my own daughter! :)

  • i love this movie

  • StarQuakeBubble, Thank you for posting this film - a GREAT cast with a humorous, yet, a bit spooky script. A fun treat for the Halloween season! THANKS!

"uncouth" -wow, haven't used or heard that word in awhile!- :)

  • god i love that tv movie i use to watch it has a kid every time around halloween

  • tim burton has nothing on jeff goldblum.....hes so young in this movie!

  • I wonder how they did the headless effect for the 'real' horseman.

  • I like the Tim Burton version better.

  • omg i forgot how funny this was. "STOP MISTAH PALMER!!! STOPPPP! giddyup please please" jeff goldbloom is just so.....jeff goldbloomy especially when hes ranting to baltus, just cracks me up. and i still think the headless horseman is creepy running through the forest, even if he looks kinda fake. i think its the music too.

  • I think it would have been better if Brom and Fred were chased out of Sleepy Hollow, never to be seen again. After all, they were jerks.

  • @steveclips: In this story, there is no hero and there is no happy ending. It is a horror story, plain and simple. In truth, Icabod was a bloody coward whose hunger for food and lust for women caused him to cross paths with Brom Bones. Brom may have been a jerk, but he was no less of a jerk than the rest of the townsfolk, since they helped Brom drive Icabod to his doom more so than the headless Hessian did.

  • A romantic ending. :)

  • @LadyVLR yes i loved that, it was so cute the relationship between ichabod and katrina. i liked it faaaar better then the lame one in the tim burton version. ricci is not at all the way i picture katrina, but meg foster was much cuter.

  • none of these versions are the original dangit

  • CLAR: They've never done a fully accurate version of this stoy, for it's always had the ending altered in some way.

  • Didn't the cartoon Disney version have the same ending as the original story?

  • Philosopher: It had the "questionable" ending...

"Now rumors persisted that Icabod was still alive, married to a widow in a distant county, but of course, the old Dutch settlers refused to believe such nonsence, for they knew the schoolmaster had been spirited away from the Headless Horseman."

  • .........with a hip hip and a clippity clop, hes out lookin for a head to swap, so dont try to figure out a plan you cant reason with a headless man.........

  • truilthelast: Yep. The Horseman's campy and corny theme sung by Brom Bones (and Bing Crosby, who did all the voicing in the short).

  • I like this and Burton's version better than the original story.

  • I've enjoyed this movie for many years. It needs a dvd release so badly

  • yeah in GOOD quality.

  • Very good. Bravo! The whole movie was great.
