  • does it work for gamecube games ?

  • damn old ass dreamcast dont dream bout nun

  • whats the machine u use called

  • does that wwork for gamecube cd's

  • NEVER TRY TO BUFF A DREAMCAST GAME! THOES GAMES ARE ACUALLY GDROMS THOSE ARE THINNER THAN COMPACT DISKS! BUFF IT YOU BREAK IT!

  • haha dreamcast lol

  • WTF is the xbox or dreamcast, i thought it was ps3 or xbox 360

  • @cartoonman65 Its called old people had the best shit, and ps3 and xbox havent been around since the 80's Xbox cam before the 360, and dreamcast came before most high time consoles.

  • nice console collection

  • where can you buy one?

  • OMG it works! thanks man your awesomw! once again thanks alot!

  • Will it work on gamecube games? Because they are on mini-DVD's.

  • old ass game

  • @MrMLGbeastmode You forgot to add the word 'AWESOME!' to your comment.

  • @OwtDaftUK 20$ i think

  • Transcribe audio...LOL

  • THANK YOU FOR USING A TRIPOD!!! other people should do the same! hehehehe... this is how i clean my ps1 games a long time ago... works every time... hehehe

  • Quick question - i accidentally moved my xbox whilst i had a disc in it ( plugging in a charger) And then the game stopped working, i took it out and there was a massive scratch around the outside of it. And instead of just buying the game again i was wondering if this would remove the scratch from the disc. Thanks

  • @75tim192l4 I think i heard somewhere that is you could borrow the game from somewhere, you can install it to your hdd, and then use the scratched one as just a boot key for it as then it doesnt use the disc for loading

  • Would you recommend doing this if you have scratches but the game works or only if the game no longer works?

  • would this work for a ps3 game?

  • ive got the same but the disc does not move

  • Holy shit it works how much was this thing?

  • This could fix Ashens' Karate Kid DVD

  • @whaowman I think so too. But Ashens said he hated the SkipDr *shrugs*. If used properly they work very well.

  • Does this work very well?

  • @2GuysThatPlayGames Are you some kind of retard or something? The video was expressly about your question. You should know the answer by now.

  • @anonamatron

Well, I heard it was shitty. And you have an attitude mate.

  • @TheJapanimefreak in theory yes because the data is actually 5 layers below the disk surface so the scratches are just on one of the non data protection layers (useless fact gamecube disks have 15 protection layers before the data layer)

  • I'm here due to this being related to an Ashens video.

I own the original version of the Skip Dr called the Dr Disk they work like a damn dream. Hence why I now own the mechanised Dr Disk because spending 15 minutes cranking away with my hand was less enjoyable than it sounds.

  • i got one of these a while back and scratched the hell out of my 20 dollar god of war >:|

  • i used and it on my xbox disc and now my xbox wont read it :(

  • I got this thing, and to be safe, I tested it on a spare CD. It works, but it leaves this ugly pattern on the disc. Do you get that pattern, Martin? I'd rather not use it on my games for that reason.

  • why does the consol say sega but the disc is for dreamcast ? not only that why do u still have these super old systems ?

  • @k0nrichmond21 Facepalm, you want to know why the Sega Dreamcast says Sega? same reason the Xbox and Xbox 360 says microsoft and the PS, PS2 and PS3 say Sony. And whats wrong with having the classic systems, you cant exactly play Dreamcast games on any other console and the 360 and PS3 arent fully backward compatible for their predeccesors games on the Xbox and PS2.

  • sorry i just wanted to make that joke.

  • but will it blend?

  • Does the wheel sand the disc flush with the scratch and the repolish or does it just clean it ?

  • @Alomania85 in theory it removes 1 of the disks non data layers

  • I've got the electronic version of that.

  • Dam That Is So badass. I Wonder If I Can Have One Imported. I Know CodeJunkies Sells CD Resurfacers But You Have To Choose Europe As Your Location To Even Veiw Them. I Don't Know If They Will mail me One If I Lie.

  • 3 hours I was sat in front of Sega Bass Fishing with this device catching nothing! You should have seen my face when I realised my error!

  • @lakepalmer .......badum tish! XD

  • use to be a £39.99 back in its day

  • Does it work for gamecube games?

  • @metakight4

you need to by a Dr Disk not a skip Dr then you need to buy an adapter ring for it but you can then repair GC disks

  • So I can get one of those at gamestop or could i just ask them to do it for me. The reason why i ask is because my lord of the rings the third age game i really messed up. I bought it pre-owned. Normally i dont have problems with pre-owned bu this one is different. Im about 35% in and it starts glitching up like no tomorrow.

Im getting really sick of it because i really like the game but the loading screen freezes up, game glitches and noise dont play correctly. It really sucks. Thanks

  • Im just curious but, will it resurface a GAMECUBE disk or are they too small ? Please reply . I've played the hell out of Sonic Riders and Shadow the Hedgehog and the story mode on Sonic Riders won't work but the rest is fine and Shadow the Hedgehog won't work period and I want them back .

  • Great sale!

  • Any way of making your own solution? as i've run out!

  • @skinyme I personally use Sunny Select drinking water as a viable replacement solution.

  • @Pimpczar2011 Just water/?

  • @skinyme Preferably non-tap,Purified bottle drinking water. And yes,it works. In fact,i just recently used my GameDoctor with said water to repair my Daft Punk,Mos Def and NERD cds.So no specialized mutantagenic water is needed!

  • @skinyme

You need a water filter system to make deionised water (or a friend who works in a place with a lab to steal some)

  • I got one from Maplins when the 360 came out as my machine kept eating discs, but I had this weird electronic one that looked like an 80's portable CD player. But it had two discs one covered in glass paper and another to polish, you also applied this white cream to it to re surface the disc.

Bust is the skip dr a perfect sheen or can you see the rebuffing marks?

  • @LarryBundyJr Skip doctors leave marks on the discs but atleast it makes them work again.

  • I have the electric one. I normally use it until i can get the disc to my play n trade. They charge me a dollar a disc.

  • these things always made the disc look bad and didn't really work i think. you would have better luck with toothpaste and rubbing to sand the scratches out. i usually have my discs fixed with a jfj pro machine that a few places have here. those things work real good and worth the few dollars it cost to do it. look it up to see how they are. sure there are some videos. one i can think of that has a video is l1 games.

  • I used these things about 10 years ago fixing my console games. It always worked. Just don't get the solution on you lol.

  • @shadowtsunami The solution is safe ;-) . It's just distilled/filtered water.

  • @RetroGameTech lol well when I use to do it, the solution they gave me was some form of acid, you could here it tingling, and sizzling. It said not to get it on you too XD. Good times.

  • I've always wondered if those actually worked. Thanks.

  • Just FYI for anyone looking to pick one up, saw some "SkipDR" products on ebay that may be fakes or at the very least don't appear on the digitalinnovations website, be careful.

  • Wow, I'm surprised that worked so well. I've seen devices like that before that I've always thought were a con but this one at least seems to work well.

I'll keep an eye out for one, there are a few discs I'd love to try it on including some discs from TV boxsets etc.

  • @DaveSimonH No, they do work :) . I've used it to bring back Saturn games I thought were completely trashed along with fixing music CDs that got damaged in the car. You just need to make sure you use lots of the solution while operating the device (it's just distilled water).

I believe the actual price I paid for mine was £2.97 from Currys/PC World. I found a few of them sitting in one of their clearance bins a couple of months ago. Worth a look.

  • @RetroGameTech Thanks I'll keep an eye out at my local Currys/PCworld stores. Does the buffer wheel need replacing regularly? I noticed you can buy the replacement wheels and cleaning water packs.

  • @RetroGameTech Thank you, I also thought they were a con!! They sell something similar in the pound store in the UK but I never thought of buying it, I might now tho!

  • @RetroGameTech Couldn't find a skipDR in two Currys and a Comet, so decided to just order one online lol

Ordered the motorised skipDR model on Amazon for £10 (360 branded). I read that the DVD/360/Wii models are all pretty much the same apart from cosmetic differences but the PS3/blu-ray models are slightly different.

Can't wait to try it out.

  • I remember when the skipDR first came out. $29.95!

They made an electronic version as well

  • I see those things for 20+ bucks, anyone got cheaper?

  • <<<<<<< Sega Rally Music... nice ;)

  • good stuff man. I bought one of those a long time ago but I took it back. the main reason was that it left lines in the game like strips where it had resurfaced the game and I was really dissatisfied with the results. In the end it looked like a pinwheel and although it played the game it didnt look good at all. does this one do the same? Just curious. The game store I go to does game resurfacing for $2.50 a disk and looks like new afterward, just wondering what your opinion was with this unit

  • @lukemorse1 hey luke its great tad expensive but yeah ive got one and it works a treat only its a bit difficult with gamecube disks

  • @lukemorse1 I think it's just the nature of how tool functions. This one does the same and leaves a very, very light pattern (uniformed lines) from the centre of the disc to the outer edge. It's barely noticeable unless you hold the disc at a certain angle on mine. You're basically sanding the scratches off the top layer of the disc so I guess it is to be expected. Personally It doesn't bother me. As long as the scratches are removed + the disc plays and laser isn't being overworked then I'm. :)

  • mint vid i found a skip dr a carboot a few months ago for 50p a very handy bit of kit

  • I hate these things. They work by scratching a pattern on the bottom of the disc unless I am doing something wrong. I have only ever used it on a few discs as I did not like the results. I guess I am picky;-)

  • @FullMoonStudio The storage on disks is made into the plastic part of the disc, so all resurfaceing does is make the film (used to allow a drive to read the discs) polished and smooth enogth to allow the lazer to read the plastic part.

  • @FullMoonStudio If you are seeng a pattern on your disk- you are definitely doing something wrong!

  • @eArtrash Well if you can actually get a shiny disc with less scratches out of it. I might have to try again with a disc I don't care about. I an not interested in a disc that plays, but look like junk. Like I said I am kind of picky ;-) Might as well sell it off to someone if it does not look good too.

  • You forgot to mention that sand paper does not work to dry it off.

  • $20 at radio Shack..

Oh btw what about gamecube games?

  • 30*

  • Also seems these are $3p at bestbuy

  • I saw some scratch wipes at my local walgreens... tempted to see if they work

  • i really need to invest in one , it always seems like its my dreamcast games that have issues I think little scraches on the outer rim of the cd tend to be the problem , I think thats where it reads if its a licenced game or w/e .. I could be totally wrong

  • @ikey1555 They're pretty handy just to have on standby. You can use them on DVDs and CDs too which is good. If you buy a lot of secondhand games then they can be a real lifesaver :) .

  • @ikey1555 get the £20 powered one the hand crank ones are a pain in the arse seriously

  • does it work on deep scratches. like the kind that happen when u tilt ur xbox and the disk scratches. im guessing no, but just guessing

  • I love the loading sounds of the dreamcast, still the best console in my eyes sega fix up bring dreamcast 2 out

  • well i tell you what, after a short search, i have to say you were very lucky to get one under a fiver. i havnt seen any for under 12 yet

  • nice I will have to get myself one of those

  • Thats a great fighting game, the only fighter my girlfriend can always kick my butt on. Great Video, Nice cheap way to get your games clean at home, I have a nice VMI Buffer in the shop but when im at home and dont want to go out the skip/game dr. does the trick most of the time.

  • @SpinTheDemon I was really lucky to find it for a super low price along with a copy of Space Channel 5 from the same seller. I'm not sure if it was damaged during shipping or if the seller knew it was bad hence the low price. Either way, easy fix and a great game. :)

You're lucky to have free access to the pro equipment. I'd need to pay almost the same amount I got my Skip Dr for to have 1 disc professionally resurfaced.

  • @RetroGameTech ANY Time you need me to clean a Bunch of games for you let me know and I can do a bunch at once for free, I do it for RROB78 All the time. But I guess you living so far away it wouldnt save you much, I have a video coming up where I pick up 11 Saturn Games from Ebay and they came Stacked Disc only with no protection if it wasnt for the Buffers I would of lost all that money I got 10/11 games working. I have really bad Saturn Luck Online :(

  • does this particular re-surfacer leave swirl marks on the disc?

  • awesome. definitely be buyin one o those. quite often find second hand games from stores and ebay dont work.

do you have a game room tour video? looks like an impressive set up there.. spose i could just go check, like. lol

  • nice i wanted to get one of these but they were at £30 but a £5 great deal

  • I need one of those. Great review~! :)

  • nice vid
