on a bus going into l.a. 1967, picked up "Open City" newspaper off the dirty floor, read from top left of course, a column that put me right into the apartment of this guy, then the talk the first punch, the other man going backwards over the kitchen table, a brief fight, and telling about thoughts and emotions that seemed to describe the american macho way of the made in usa inc. world: by a columnist i'd never heard of: charles bukowski.

but check out the streets of copenhagen for the new young movement. the CO 2 bella baloney conference was a bust, but on the streets the people were movin and a shakin. sure moved me.
