The government should have long term food storage facilities in every state. Potable water and medicines along with power sources should also be stored in case of natural disaster, war, or economic distress. Churches and private groups should do the same. Keep America safe & prosperous for all!

I think the Mormons prepare in their own houses, and have there own year supply of food, for any disaster including bad winters or droughts. So people need to do something on a personal level, you can start by getting pounds of rice and cans of food and anything else you can think of that you would need in an emergency because distribution will be sporadic at best. Save seeds and plant your own crops.

The salt mined from it grits the roads of the UK and Ireland and also large parts of east coast USA during the winter and cold snaps.

In fact due to what he said "centraly located facility" I am willing to bet this is either the one in springfield MO or Kansas City. Sure looks like it. In the 80's when I lived in KC they held underground 5K and 10K races in those caverns. Nothing scary or nefarious. A bunch of cheap storage using underground caverns which reduces the need for energy of above ground refrigeration/freezer facilities.
