if you want a good sound from the snare, have an aquarian classic clear or hi-performance resonant head tuned firm (but with a little give when you press it) and have your batter head tuned about 1/4 to 1/2 a turn lower :)
Try putting the moon gel on the bottom head, it really lets the top head do its thing while getting rid of the ringing. Most of the ringing is gonna come from the bottom head anyway.
@rockateer45 I haven't tried it but people say that it falls off, and I wouldn't want to keep readjusting it, if u want me to try it I can make a video. But for now it's fine as it is :)
@rockateer45 You should never muffle the resonant head of a snare drum. It chokes the snare wires; it doesn't really let the batter head "do it's thing". Also, most of the resonance comes from bad tuning. If the heads are tuned correctly, then the harmonics produced will be pleasing to the ear.
i have to admit i use moon gels on my low toms but learn to tune ur snare right and theres no need for it on the snare

Tuning is really bad. There are to many notes ringing..it should be one with maybe an over tone.

@drummerhero4652 They do fall off. I've tried that with my floor tom. Had to put them back on the head every 5 minutes.
