Hi, I want to buy a beginner violin. I am debating between a stentor, primavera, adreas zeller, or an electric/acoustic one from gear4music. Do you have any suggestions?
You can buy used older instruments for inexpensive prize, maybe a bit more than those cheap violins, but you can use it for allot more time if not a lifetime, whereas a cheap violin may not work for long, especially if you are quickly improving.
I once bought a beginner violin for $300 in my homeplace and it was just awful. After the first three years I couldn't play on it anymore... I couldn't play any really fast parts, or any more advanced Vivaldi, or even not a Swan Lake... and had to buy new one to continue and I bought myself one old one for $600 and it did sound so amazing! I could play whatever I wanted on that one and it sounded good.
There's alot of controversy regarding cheap made violins and I once purchased a Cecilio off of Ebay.It was complete garbage and I sent it back immediately for a refund. However, there is excellent quality stringed instruments coming from China.Buy the best that you can afford.
@josephsmy1994 No one has answered in a month so I will. There is a link in his description He said 230 I think on what that one costs. His accent for me makes it a bit hard to understand what hes saying with some things. The entry lvl is showing to be 299 dollors with a possible 30% discount but I didnt click on the link to see what you had to do to get the discount.
well i m a guitar player...and i wanna start playing the violin...i found a cheap one"harley benton HBV 840v....its an electric violin...u think its ok for a beginer?
i have an entry level violin and it sound good for me. in my video that i played wieniavski romance im using that entry level. a karl hofner... someday i wish to have their master violin if the entry level is that good the master is 100 times better i think..
@grumhellscream I have played on a horrible violin I couldn't enjoy it. So I stopped playing for months since I lost my very high quality one. And now I could afford a decent even better but more expensive violin and I am happy. The instrument made me question if I loved the violin, but that particular cheap violin was hated by me and I couldn't enjoy anything to do with it.
hey guys i have a question, i found a violin on ebay for 80$ does that mean it sucks. beacause i just started learning how to play the violin. so i want something cheap and easy. so can someone please help me and tell me if that is reasonable or is it like a scam.
Fantastic video. Thank you for the help. I bought a cheap violin a couple of years ago wanting to learn to play. It was absolutely awful and I never ended up learning because the violin was so bad. There may be hope for it with some minor adjustments. Thank you! :)
@vissi87 Thanks for the feedback. If you like the idea to buy good quality cheap violins, then you may also be interested to look at good quality, inexpensive strings. You find them at maestrostrings do t com.
I was made in Stuttgart if that means anything to you... and am driving a Mercedes Benz (also made in Stuttgart) if THAT means anything to you. And I am waiting to drive a Porsche one day (also made in Stuttgart) if that means anything to you. One thing is sure, I like good quality, and that's what we look for in violins as well.
@vissi87 Thanks for your advice to stick to the Mercedes. One of our suppliers drives a Porsche and he is in love with it. He explained to me the term "Porschism" - it stands for the relationship between owner and the Porsche as if it was a super human being, definitely not just a car!
@DietrichLasa Haha no problem. Yea, the reason I say that is I looove Mercedes-Benz and don't care much for Porsche as a friend of mine owns a 911 Carrera 4S and has had nothing but trouble with it. I can definitely understand the relationship between someone and their car though. Much like the "Alfisti" who will stand by their Alfa Romeos no matter how much they break down ;)

@grumhellscream I have the better quality violin now. Now I'm practicing Bach's chaconne. Why would I play ping pong?

@DietrichLasa Stick with the Mercedes. Porsche's are overrated, overpriced and NOT good quality.
