If they didn't even tell you, then that could very easily mean that there were other gay marines who followed the "don't ask, don't tell" policy and never informed anyone of their sexual orientation. So then you wouldn't count them because they never showed through rape that they liked guys. You can always spin any piece of info to fit your own needs.

I can't do chapter and verse specific, but I know that Paul wrote in one of his 2 letters to the corinthians that Jesus had come that the laws of the Old Testament weren't to be ignored but Jesus came to change the way that law was used. Originally if people stuck to that law and through sacrifices as you mentioned earlier, God would forgive people of there sins. It was ritualistic and a horrible practise.
