  • Any word on availability yet? There isn't a single review on this SSD yet :(

  • @Pzkfw5 I've found some at SuperBiiz, one of their listed e-tailers. Up to 64 GB MLC is available. No 128 GB MLC or any SLC drives though.

  • @DakkonA -- higher capacities and SLC (definitely ) are special order items. You order it and they will make it.

  • When are these going to be released for purchase?

  • I'm not expert, but I'm really looking forward to the mPCI-E SSD. I was wondering of these corestore SSD's will support trim?

  • @Pzkfw5 Of course, this is the newest Marvell controller. Note: Trim requires OS support and so far only Win 7 suppports it.

  • @Pzkfw5 -- Yes, Trim and GC are supported.

  • Speedfull SD. Wow! But when they get cheaper?

  • Speedfull SD. Wow!

  • Thought that loading programs and booting speed was only a job of the RAM. Very impressive demonstration!!!!

  • Looks pretty good but how long can it last?

The SSDs I know have a pretty limited lifetime.

  • I really need to invest into an SSD.

  • but with the sata II drive you turned AERO on.....

  • @Leichenschredder - I believe the two drive images to be completely identical in every detail. Please explain.

Can you see a difference between the two or just asking?

  • @gosupertalent No I was just wondering.... thanks for the reply

  • @gosupertalent

There are different icons on desktop. There are no MS office icons pinned on sidebar - so it is definitely not bitcopy of the OS.

I am not sure what this "utility" measures. From the video it seems the real times, handoff to the utility message, are ~ 26s and 40s, while the login to message seems to be approximately the same so I would guess the difference is the "missing" welcome screen. Please less marketing, more benchmarks.

Anyway where, when can one buy this thing?

  • @krOozic The engineers don't use office, so I pinned those after the image was made. I am going to be sending these drives out for independant review - so you will see the scores are real. In fact, I suspect that these guys will even get it to run faster as I did ZERO optimization. I have since followed some optimiation advice found at TheSSDreview and was able to bring down by boot time by over a half a second. I will be sending a drive to that site for sure. Take a look.

  • Hi Peter,

you said the benchmark ran on the MV Version. Thats mini PCIe, right? How did this wonderfull thing plug into a desktop Motherboard? I got a Acer 5940G (i7m, PM55) with one spare mini PCIe slot free( not Gen2, but ~200 MBs is more then enough for me) and i am looking forward to get one of these babies. I am afraid the notebook BIOS (H2O EFI) might not let me boot of the MV. Can you give me any info on that?

Btw awesome device, i've been looking for something like this for a long time.

  • @dirtylittlehelper good catch; I was wondering if anyone would call me on that. We have a speical adapter in the lab that enabled me to convert the MV (miniPCIe) to PCIe. So I was really testing the MV version in this test.

I simply set up the BIOS to boot from a HDD and it finds the PCIe card. No changes were made to the BIOS between booting from the SATA HDD and PCIe card.

  • That is one fast drive man...
