  • Stop worrying about the rear brake. Since you won't need a clutch anymore, just use the left side lever for rear braking, like on every scooter in the world.

You mentioned a charger before. If I was you I'd use the saddlebag idea for your charger. Take it off during your daily commute and put them on for longer rides/trips. That way you wouldn't be carrying the charger all the time, just when you plan on going farther/longer rides.

btw I have a 1985 500 Interceptor, mine runs fine on gas :-)

  • Thanks man. I'm planning on sticking with the brake pedal for now. The current plan is to use the rear brake pedal to activate the rear brake as per normal. Also, have the regen activate on zero throttle (similar to engine braking on ICE), then have the clutch handle (when squeezed) disable regen for coasting (again, similar to ICE).

I've been leaning towards the charger-in-saddlebag idea since i don't think i'll be able to fit it and the controller in the gas tank area like i thought.

  • sweet video man!!!! really puts it all in perspective. i cant wait to see this sucker completed!!!!

btw, let me know how well that enertrac motor works, i wanna use one too

  • Looks like a great project. My girlfriend has a VF500F (gas version), very nice bike, looking forward to seeing how your project progresses.
