We first got sky 1 when it was the yellow logo. You used to look at sky 1 in the tv guide and say i wish we had sky. Now it's a load of shite...

That last ident seemed made by a 6 year old. How were the 80s and pre 1997 idents - with less computing power - better than the more recent ones???

Third one is my fav. Reminds me of the time when you got Sky and it felt like your TV choices triped overnight(from 4 to about 12!). It felt like appointment TV and quite different to the usual stuff. And in ten years will we remember any idents from today? think not. They are all vague and boring.

"From the Sky sattellite network. This is Sky One." I always used to think when i was younger that it was broadcast from an actual space station orbiting the earth. Great look and identity about those early logos that was all across the board, unlike now.

I prefer the futuristic idents they did back in the 90s compared to the woman sitting in a cafe, or a rollercoaster, etc. To me they come across as bland, and average.

Does anyone remember a sky 1 short show, that used to be on saturday mornings, it was about this family similiar to the addams family, the wife was really fit with red hair and foreign accent, she had a dopey husband who spoke with an american accent, 2 creepy looking kids and a butler named Crudd or Krudd. the only other thing i can remember was that whenever the wife needed the butler she would shout "KRUDD" he he would appear out of nowhere and say "yeees, madamme".

@xxlukeyjxx Totally agree. I basically only watched Sky One back then. Today I actually prefer channels like TV3 in Denmark and Kanal 5 (also Denmark). They still have that program line-up where you really don't touch that dial all night long, not even during the commercial breaks.

Sky 1 is not the same channel in terms of quality it used to be years ago perhaps thats due to the excessive amount of digital tv channels.

i used to love Sky One back in the day when they showed programs like Full House, Old Skool WWF, DJ Kat Show, Beverly Hills 90210 etc... the one show that lasted is The Simpsons.

My Saturday mornings would be spent watching WWF and D.J Kat, my Saturday nights watching COPS, Sunday nights Rescue 911 with William Shatner, before school in the week was Lamb Chops Play-a-long then when Jeopardy started it was time to leave. Married With Children at 6pm after school. Man what great times. I miss them!

I can remember when I was a child I loved the second and third idents. Then Sky One was scrambled and was gone from our cable network.

Funny was that I did not understand a single word of English but I was watching cartoons and game shows all day :))

These are very good Sky One idents and if I had to choose a favorite, it would be with the straw in the milkshake. The fourth and sixth indents are good ones too. Brings back some memories when I would watch Sky One at my Uncle's place in Ireland.

@jaychristie909 Apart from those which you mentioned, the only other ident missing on this video is from when Sky and BSB merged in 1991, and you had the voiceover saying at the end "this is Sky One, a part of the British Sky Broadcasting network".
