  • This was such a treat, I love butterflies and Chopin, what a great combination!

  • That's cool how they flutter their wings fast to keep their balance. You're never too old not to enjoy butterflies soaring around a garden.

  • Yes, the Pipevine Swallowtail ranged as far north as Connecticut during the Victorian era. But as the pipevine fell out of fashion, their range shrank. But they could come back! Plant pipevine!

  • I have read that Pipevine Swallowtail butterflies as caterpillars will only feed on Astrolochia (pipevine) species--they will not consume any other type of plant in the caterpillar stage and this fact has limited their range; by planting Astrolochia species in one's garden it may be possible to develop a colony of these beautiful Swallowtail butterflies, whose natural habitat has apparently been restricted in recent years due to this limitation. Lovely video- thanks for posting it!

  • Mother Nature provides for every living being.

  • This is actually a Pipevine Swallowtail - it has just one row of orange dots.

  • Beautiful! Thanks for using the Chopin Nocturne in E flat, my favorite piece!

  • love

  • You sure have a lot of Pipevine Swallowtails in your yard! Chris/JCMDIdotCOM
