@brysonever There's really not much of a difference at all, besides if it was a first person type game it would have been harder to make a smooth melee system, anyways I know for a fact that people would start calling the game a Halo clone or a future Call of Duty game (cause they already do that for the freakin rts game). Also a game called firewarrior came out before and was an fps, though it is pretty old.

Warhammer is based on a lot of things from DandD like Orcs and demons and wizards and then they added a whole bunch more things and made it their own. I guess Warhammer was like DandD combined with chess and then Warhammer40k added Aliens and space marines. Warhammer is one of the originals and it great and lots of things are based on it and I can't wait for this game to come out.

@newbietuber99966 The cover system for DOW2 was meant to add tactical depth to survivability within a real-time strategy game. W40k Space Marine makes an effort to distinguish itself from the signiture combat style of Gears of War, that's what the developers have in mind.

They want the game to represent the soul of what being a Space Marine in the W40k universe's lore meant which is face-to-face battle-prowess. In this game, enduring damage and inflicting damage with a masochism is the key.

@newbietuber99966 Those are more of Table Top style Marines, that get cover saves to be even more fucking indestructible (I play Imperial Guard so I can't hurt Marines anyway). The Marines from this game look to be more of fluff marines, they just tear through everything with little to no effort no matter the weapon, and, their armor protects them from just about everything.

The problem is character depth would suffer because different chapters breed different types of warriors. A space wolf would act and sound completely different to an Ultramarine who in turn would be completely different to a Black Templar, the characters would end up being bland, generic and not fit with ANY chapter. They made the right choice not having single player chapter customisation.

But what i mean was that they fully customize the marines even though i know that would take a hell of a lot of work since there are so many chapters in warhammer 40k.
