  • i could easily build the frame in 1 day, and possibly put the plywood down

  • this is the most epic song ever

  • hey much did this cost total?

  • How much was all the wood?

  • That Coating will do absolutlety nothing. The ramp will be rotten in 6 months. You should have used all ACQ PT lumber and plys (only a few bux more) with a Skatelite riding surface. All that work- Man what a waste !!!!

  • Sick job!

  • How/Where did you get the wood to make this?

  • That ramp is beautiful! Looks like a perfect setting for it. If you truly know what you're doing it is possible to make something like that in 2 days. The hardest part is getting it level and finding a good transition, but other than that it's basically just cutting a bunch of 2x4s and sticking them together, then topping it off with plywood.

  • how much did it costr all together , for all of the wood ??

  • haha guys i beleive him aye he cld have done it easy like he just has to get the stuff then in one day cut all the wood to size an put it together like a jigsaw

  • how much did it cost

  • agreed 2 full days would have been impossible even for a single experienced carpenter using a nail gun. speaking of nails, i fear for your hands, knees and shins when those nails work themselves loose.

  • can you please make a list of the tools and a list of the materials you used please? i would really appreciate it because I will make a half pipe in the summer and i just want some guidelines to help me

  • check out my vert ramp video

  • Hi dude very nice ramp and ofcourse its doable in 2 days especially when you have that much of experience and the cutting is nothing i built a ramp myself and the cutting of 80 bars took me a half hour and the cutting of the thick plywood took about 10 minutes a piece but not saying its not hard though but i have one question , how many layers of plywood did u use cuz i used one layer of bendable 0.4'' plywood but im not sure if it will hold the ramp is just finished today

    Thanx anyway

  • Hey man, I love the ramp and was wanting to build a 6ft halfpipe myself. Do you have ramp plans for this that you would be willing to share? I have built a few ramps, but i am definitely not a professional. Let me know and thanks.

  • Hey would you like to send me the plans i wanna make one

  • How much did that cost?

  • No. Just worked hard and fast. I am no stranger to tools and construction.

  • i just got one today for an erly christmas presant im soo happy

  • how much did it cost

  • how much did it cost im intrested in building

    one

  • dude, I don't mean to be the one but, there is no way that you built that in one day. Not possible for one person to finish by oneself in one day, nor a weekend. Just thinking about your cut list is crazy. Even if you built ramps for a living I don't think one person could finish a ramp of this size. Just saying. Oh and I am building one solo myself and I have about one full day in it and I haven't even got the flat or the deck done.

  • Say what you want. That was a two day project without the paint job. I was 39 yrs old with 27 yrs experience working with wood. Its a straight forward project with the right tools; laser levels, chopsaw station, cordless everything. So yes I did it alone in two days plus three trips to Home Depot. Believe it.

  • @sparksfly77 not true i built a 3 foot quarterpipe i a day

  • They sold him out...

  • @MrShinonuma it's probably a good idea cuz water is still going to get on the ramp

  • hey were did you get your plans? cus i was thinkin bout gettin my freinds together and start buildin one i just dont know how and thts probably the sickest ramp ever.

  • you really built this by yourself with no help? thats the shit that i do cuz my friends dont know how to do shit...lol but they love to skate it and drink beer while i build it

  • Hey man, What is the radius of your ramp? What was used for the surface? and how long does the surface last? thanks

  • 7.5 feet radius. 3/8inch BCX plywood. 5 years with one coat of Waterlox Marine UVFinish. Longer if you coat it every year.

  • how far should the copping stick out?

  • 1/2inch

  • kudos man that looks spectacular! you gotta post some vids of you tearing that fucker up!

  • i built one half the size in about 16 hours i worked non stop :).......o yea btw what did you use for your surface?

  • How much did this cost?

  • in 2002 it was $1200 worth of lumber.

  • @redsuburban

How long wide and high is it and do you think a smaller one would cost a decent amount less?

  • did it warp at all?

  • No. All layers were power nailed every 8 inches.

  • did you buy this from whitefish ramps or did you start it from scratch?

  • bought lumber at home depot. built from scratch. my design also.

  • dosent it hurt if you fall? wouldnt you get a million splinters? is it easy to make because i want to make one. sorry for all the questions i just have no clue how to.

  • did you u a certain kind of wood? or did you paint it?

  • plz give me the name of the song :)

  • They Sold Me Out by Van Morrison

  • Red, Looks great. Would you change anything if you did it again? Do you like the 7'6" radius and 6' height for a skate ramp? thanks Have a Great Day! --4est

  • i wont 1 dude that iz so sik

  • grab a hammer and some wood

  • I am also thinking about building a halfpipe and i was wondering what is the best width, length, and height for mainly bmxing?

  • This is 16 feet wide. It was a nice comfortable ride just pumping back and forth. BMX would be nicer if it were 24 feet wide. Bigger is better.

  • damn, thats done right

  • cool

  • i like that its elevated, it wont rot from the moisture from the ground

  • What rots is the deck. I used Waterlox Marine finish at the start and it lasted two years. Then the deck became very slick during wet conditions. It was like an algae coating. Only the 4wd dog could walk on it when wet.

  • hey wat matarial did u use for the skin

  • bottom layer was 3/8"BCX exterior plywood.

top layer was 3/8"ACX exterior plywood.

the A rated side facing up.

  • it took you 2 days only? wow good job, you must've worked pretty hrd

  • I was very determined plus had 27 yrs of woodworking experience behind me. I was 39 yrs old when I built it.

  • my god i that looks nice id prefer that to my whole town skate park

  • how much was all the wood??

  • $1200 and two days labor.

  • hey man i was thinking on building a halfpipe ... 6 foot high and 10 wide ... its for bikes... do u think that will be big enough and how do u like draw out correct the side thing out of ply wood some 1 sed something about string or sumfing....? plz reply

  • That would work for bikes... but it would help to be longer like 15ft. also make a big deck.( i just brock my arm from a to small of one...)

  • how much was all the wood?

  • $1200

  • Dude, that is seriously mint!

A really good job I must say indeed.

    Looks sturdy, Safe and fun!

Put up a video of you skating on it.

I would love to see it.

  • Hey, awesome video...planning to build one same size for my sons 10th birthday..I have a few weeks. Question for you, if you don't mind, could you give me some info..as much as possible. First, how far apart are the joists spaced, and anthing else you can let me know that you think I should know to help! Much appreciated, Cory

  • space joists 6 inches apart on ramp section.

  • nicely done. very cool.

  • oh and, how is the plywood holding up? i looked at some of your other videos and it looks like it would skate slow now cuz the rain?

  • Plywood was coated with Waterlox UV Marine finish. It lasted a good 3 years. Then it started to fail. Could only ride BMX on it. Too soft to skate.

  • hey. i'm plaing on building a half pipe,

6' on one side 4' on the other

    8' wide

a 2 foot drop from the 6' side

now what my big question is,

the coping some ppl are saying 3in, 2 in, 1.5 in??? what should i do?

and how does the plywood skate?

    please respond

  • Plywood skated nice. will have to replace every 3 years.

  • i mean to say y didnt u dig out the land and make it level then build ur 1/2 pipe on that? instead of raising it and making it more unstable?

  • Because it was easier and quicker to build it up off the ground. It didn't cost any extra to take some leftover pressure treated 6 by 6's to level the structure. Who said it was unstable? This ramp was solid with no racking at all. Plus wood doesn't like to be in contact with the ground.

  • Comment removed

  • thats a waste of money on the wood for the platform, u would have spend the same amount of time digging out the dirt and leveling the land as u did building that.

  • ????? you don't skate on dirt.

  • hey do you think that 12 foot would be wide enough to ride on with bikes ?

  • 12 feet is tight. 16 feet worked out great for a bike.

  • do u hav the blueprint/plan???

  • The blueprints are this video. What you need is to have the radius supported with 2 by at 6 inches on center. This gives it the rigidity so that your energy is not lost in the otherwise flexing wood. I have 11 feet of flat and 7.5 foot radius at 6 feet high.

  • awesome job son. it looks great and i do this for a living.

  • Thanks. Building it and skating it were/are equally enjoyable.

  • put up a video of you skatin

  • thats sick

    i have a 3 foot

  • how many layers of plywood did you use?

  • 2 layers of 3/8 BCX

  • hey, how much was the halfpipe?????the cost

  • ???

  • $1200

  • you built it in only 2 days by yourself

damn you must of worked your ass off

  • I was beat. 3 trips to HomeDepot alone during the build. 40 sheets of plywood. I didn't skate it until the next weekend.

  • how much did it all cost

  • what is the length and width of this halfpipe
