  • Somebody just got a hacked version of phtoshop ... ;)

  • pseudo hdr

  • 240p to look at photos..whats the point?..why cant you upload at a higher res if you want people to view your work!..i stopped looking at this vid and thumbed it down as soon as it came on...

  • HDR -- The best way to shoot high-quality HDR photography and video with DSLR cameras is the 3D-BS MINI (beam-splitter) Rig. To find out more visit our site - 3D Film Factory (dot) com

    Canon 5D, 7D, Nikon D40, D50

  • @sajjansarkar its because he dosent use a tripod, and he also tried to capture moving objects in some, but that one near the start with the cars is damn awesome

  • Let the stupid people criticize all they want. If they could do better, I'm sure they would. I have been using Photmatrix, but your video inspired me to use it in more lighting situations.

    Thanks for uploading.

    Greetings from Iran

  • most people like to mess up too much HDR toning. You have a nice touch with these photos. I personnally don't like TOO surrealistic editing, but these are awesome =)

  • i like the song :)

  • I think ghosting usually compliments hdr shots. Personally I love it for creating surreal pieces of art that are uniquely my own. If at the end of your processing you feel confident enough to show it to others as a completed work, you obviously have achieved what you had envisioned. Thats personal style. if you're going to criticize someones work isn't it common sense that it should be constructive? as soon as you start bashing someones style because you don't like it you've officially categori

  • wtf

  • these are honestly not so great, trying to imitate real hdr via software is never going to be perfect and in your case, it makes the boundaries between under/overexposed areas look like they have an 'edge glow' effect.

you can usually achieve much better results if you align/mask images yourself, though this patently takes more time and effort.

Some of your images did turn out quite well though - i liked 1.29 and 1.37

  • some of them are really cool. but on some theres quite a lot of ghosting....

  • tutorial please!

  • very cool pic !

I'm new at all this... dont have Photoshop and Phomatix... What do you think about Gimp ?

  • The people saying that this is bad, are stupid.

These are really nice! I love the ghost effect on the first picture!

  • terrible quality... to cartoonish if that is even a word. i can't tell if to much time was lapsted between photos or you just completely overkilled those like you did the rest.

  • ooh my god. I need Photoshop... I really need to get into HDR

  • nice work man

  • not HDR as I know it most look like high Sat levels also I note many have moving things in then so you can not take muti exposures only one?

  • HDR looks like pictures from children books! Or like pil paintings!

  • Overkill on the tone maping

  • A little overprocessed but not bad.

  • idk some of the images are cool but most just seem like amateur photography like point and shoot stuff just with really cool effects. Again you have some awesome photos but some times the only thing that makes them any good is the effect and thats not good

  • the pictures are shit...but u got awesome editing skills

  • what the title of the song?

  • The music is The Chemical Brothers: Where do I begin. Yeah nice HDR but isn't the idea to make the photo look MORE real?

  • Как то грубовато сделано. Но сам я ещё не пробовал. Уж очень любопытно.

  • This was very well done, what was the really nice music playing : )

  • Chemical Brothers' Sunday Morning

  • Actually it's "where do I begin"

  • hmmm.....

  • i find it works well with black and white

  • HOW THE HELL DO YOU DO THIS D: NEED TUTORIAL D: ;D excellent work btw

  • great clip.... nice music whos singin that??

  • @br0neck This song is "where do i begin" from The Chemical Brothers album Dig your own hole

  • @br0neck Sounds like Beth Orton

  • Way over the top with the effects!

    Less is more!

  • my guess in the future digital cameras will automatically create hrd photos.

  • they already do.

  • lol.

  • im sorry but these are not good at all

  • Some fantastic images, great processing work.

  • how can i get the moving parts(like moveing cars and stuff) almost motionlessin HDR?

  • bro, was that a corvette i just saw in your first photo? nice! am i also seeing what looked like a honda civic? the black sedan to the left?

  • These images with moving subjects creates such a unique look - don't be discouraged by negative feedback - it's art and it's great.

  • thats the problem! photography is being turned into art these days.if people are gonna do that they they should find another hobby! paint a picture!

  • Too Dark

  • If something moves, you should use a RAW-File! If you don't, you'll get a kind of blurry effect...

  • im new with hdr..u mention bout using RAW file. a r saying dat using single shot RAW file? im new learner

  • hey,im new in hdr. are u saying dat using single shot RAW image for moving objects?

  • @meldrian

you can use a single raw image for moving objects, but if you use multiple exposures in a crowded area you can achieve ghost people type effects. message me if you need any more info ;)

  • looks so un-natural though

  • how did u make 1st pic that u have shadow blue car even he is not there on original photo?

  • because in order to make an hdr photo, you have to take 3 pictures and put them together, and the cars moved while he took the pictures.

  • HDR is a series of pictures put together... you normally shouldn't use moving objects because of that...

  • Because you need to take at least 2-3 shots to create an hdr image. So one of the shots had that car in it.

  • yeah i agree...sorry dude.

  • wyższa szkoła jazdy ;d

    próbowałam, ciężko dobraĆ

  • Im new to HDR and cannot get that effect, just sau yours and couple of other HDR generated photos and the effect is so nice wich I cannot get. By the way I am only using photoshp cs4 is with photomatix better?

  • @maltazep Not better, diferent! More Stylish if you like!

  • I agree these are horrible, and yes i take HDR photos so I know what I am talking about. If you would like to see them just ask, i would be glad to upload them.

  • amazing..

    i love your work..

i'm kind of new into the hdr photography so .. do u know where i can find some tutorials or do u have any..??

    great job, again..

    greets,

    ib

  • use a little work with some, but nice

  • No offense bro but the composition and HDR toning could use more practice... ghosting can be seen with your moving subjects... sometimes it kinda works but mostly its not favorable. Keep at it.

  • Nice colors, you do however need to align your photos when composing them..

Several of them had the different exposures missaligned so they overlapped eachoter in the HDRs.

  • I feel your results are overwrought and tacky. You, however have every right to like them.

  • just started 2 learn about hdr photography .. and idk but cant tell the difference between hdr and normal photography ? lol sorry.. is hdr supposed 2 make it better ?

  • Yeah, the technique is very interesting.

    Just needs a bit composition...

  • Nice pics! Please reupload to higher quality...

    Youtube sucks...

What program/s did you use? Looks like I'm going to actually pay for some software...

  • Photomatix + Photoshop. It was one of the first versions of Photomatix.

  • Is picturenaut worth using?

  • there are free ones out there, qtpfsgui and gimp can do very similar effects.

  • Take a look at the tuorial HDR in camera, no computer needed from LILKIWIGUY. done with multiple exposure on a tripod, all manual with EV compensation. brilliant.

  • I watched it again, and there is some good shots on there. :)

  • Way overdone IMO.

  • It shows the effect of tone mapping, moving the camera between shots, ...

possibly a few other things. :/

  • I like them, keep it up

  • Great vid. I would love to see the pics in higher quality

  • no offense but try to capture less movement

    constructive criticism

  • I do agree with you but in some photos the effect created by the movement was nice.

  • I like the movement, gues its all about taste

  • Nice! I don't think this is full or true HDR, and like someone said, I don't know if this is what you were going for, but I like the effect...very creative!

  • Well despite what others may say on here, I think you did a good job using the tools you had back then.

  • The picture with the curtains AND the pic with the sky above "moscow" are really cool after hdr

  • HDR is Computer Art NOT Photography, but as i keep being told ,,"Its time I got with it and stop with REAL Photography, without studios, lights,HDR ,computers and the like..is seem a lot of faffing about to create a picture that has nothing to do with just recording what the photographer sees,Still you have some great ART,...Shame it was the computers work .

  • COMPUTER ART? Tell me how "mixing 3 different exposures of the same scene" computer art. You can do this with a film camera too, without even removing the film from the camera for processing. Learn about multiple exposure before you come in here babbling about computer art and other shit!

  • Can you do it on any SLR? i have a Canon rebel G2 35mm, it would be cool if i could learn how to do that

  • Combining the 3 exposures is the easy part, the computer does that for you. The art comes in during the tone mapping.

  • You're a tool.

It's not always about just recording what the shooter sees. If every photographer or painter did that, things would be fucking boring.

With your ignorant logic, any kind of post-production that was done to a photograph on the computer could then constitute it as "the computer's work" and therefore not "photography". So If you change the sat, spot off dust...OOPS, NOT PHOTOGRAPHY, now computer art? Creating this is still a process, and requires knowledge of programs and settings.

  • Some are realy good others are cartoonish

  • Good job!

  • These are the coolest! The whole point of an HDR image is to bring out what

YOU see... I've just started theorizing my HDRs. I have some shots that I took at different exposures before I knew about this type of processing. Y ou can make the shots as realistic or as extreme as you want!!! Looks great!

  • are these handheld?

  • woah! thats cool!

  • I am sorry...but I think it'sUnrealistic, and it's not a photography anymore...=)

  • Bleh. Most of these look like you just started using a computer and are having lots of fun.

  • unrealistic photos....that's the great advantage!

  • not to add to the hate, but the photos now look like illustrations from a childrens book....

  • very nice!

  • are you using that cs3 plugin?

    a little inrealistic mate

  • Video was made in 2006, there were no cs3, so i was using one of the first versions of photomatix

  • 90% of hdr exports sacrifice color for details. they are bound to be unrealistic. sure, my true admiration goes to other 10%. imho, you should not be able to look at photo and see that it was exported from hdr, just because of its colors. true art is subtle.

  • well, im reading a lot of negative comments.. but yeah, generally, the pics arent bad, but nor are they great.

I donno what software you are using, but either way, try using a tripod when taking HDR shots.

The ghosting effect, whether if you were going for it or not, is a tad too much and just makes the images seem confusing to look at.. just some tips

  • OMG you've ruined your pictures......I guess that you should use a tripod next time you do HDR.

    HDr does not mean cartoonize!!!

  • People have marked this video down simply because they don't like HDR photography? Weird.

  • It's a neat technique, but way overused.

  • Some were really cool, like the one with the curtains or the one in the beginning - others were not so good.

  • i agree with beeny1983....good attempt though.

  • Зачёт!!! Молодца! :)

  • Good stuff - I'll pass this along to all my newsletter subscribers.

  • Wow, some of these are TOO overexerted! I'm sticking to lightroom.

  • Ohh people...

She`s just trying the HDR without the good settings.

But she`ll learn about soon, i can see the insterest!

Good look KoralLeidy with next steps...

  • That´s amazing!

    The indoor HDR shoots rock!

  • it is quite intresting, I personally didn´t liked those pics, but it´s a new style, well kind of. HDR is much more than that. It can achieve greater things.

  • Oh C'mon, this is NOT even close to how it's done. HDR is a series of merged photos, each exposed to capture highlights and shadows. You've taken pictures of the same scene, but at day and night - that's the problem. Take the pictures at the SAME time, but change your camera settings. Any free web tutorial would help tremendously.

  • This is not HDR. This is artistic (subjective) photo manipulation.

  • Great !

  • Great !

  • This is a vid how not to use HDR

  • I didnt like it at all really. It was quite hard to watch. Some of the photos are great (before edting) but done as HDR there not.

It was a great attempt though.

  • hi, anyone know a tutorial or what i use to match a pictures tone to background as it was one picture? example one of me in the day on a night time picture? how can i make the picture of me look like it was taken at night also and matching pic of me with night background?

  • this video should be called "tips to make the picture look horrible," God!

  • agree.

  • agree... I take and use HDR... and the results are excellents... maybe are you using too much contrast... sorry but this photos are horribles...

  • You can't possibly tell me the HDR version of the picture at 1:27 doesn't look better. Yeah, sometimes HDR is overdone and sometimes it doesn't look very realistic. But w/ HDR the colors are brighter & you can see all the details in pics w/ very bright & very dark areas (esp. bright indoor window pics).

  • lol. Ok, I think HDR is like salt, too much is not good ;) excessive processing makes photos really looks like plastic and artificial.

  • at least he got Chemical Brothers on the background! rules! : D

  • this is too much i think...

  • sux

  • NICE! :)

  • grate job

  • People have different taste in photography that's for sure. I'm not a big fan of HDR...well...I mean the ones that are heavly drown in HDR. Some are quite noticeable like this video while some are suttle. I prefer the latter. Still cool anyway.

  • not a big fan of this stuff... but i guess there is a time and place for everything.

  • impresionante!!!!!

  • what does hdr stand for

  • High Dynamic Range.

  • Professional landscape photographers - the top ones - don't do this. They still use film and 5x4 field cameras with manual everything yet achieve stunning, perfectly exposed prints. Spending four hours on Photoshop per image isn't my idea of photography. If the DR is too wide then change the time of day or use ND grads to hold back the sky. This just looks like some sort of nightmare vision. Plus, you can't blend multiple raw images if anything moved, and the world is rarely still.

  • But then if you think about it most of the Pro photographers have thousands to spend on the equipment which not everyone can do. So if there is a cheap alternative, why not take it?

  • well said, this is a cheap alternative to spending thousands of lens and filters etc.

  • HATER*

  • True, true!

  • The song is by the chemical brothers

  • Most of these look like you just edited the heck out of them - not like an at least somewhat realistic HDR. No offense though :)

  • "Where do I begin" by Chemical Brothers.

  • HDR is so unartistic and irritating to look at, in my opinion.

  • I agree. It takes the reality out of photos instead of the intended use. People need more skill, HDR photos aren't meant to look like cartoons!

  • What song is that?

  • in my opinion, there were a few that were great, most were ok, and some were just irritating to look at. especially the ones that had like a double image on them.

  • virtuality looks much better then real life XD

  • check out my photography video response , ill bet youll like it ,

  • i like using HDR for certain types of images, not all.

  • Nice pictures, very dramatic tones and nice technique, but they look unnatural for me.

  • Nice pics, but I'm guessing you used Photomatix to process them because of the surrealistic tones. Great, accessible piece of software, but I wish HDRsoft would change their default tone mapping settings to provide more realistic photos.

  • I think they've already done it.)

  • what song is this? nice work.

  • You can. Just select the Tone Compressor method on the Tone Mapping controller.

  • Very nice work. Some beautiful shots.

  • Very nice work. Some beautiful shots.

  • Very nice work. Some beautiful shots.

  • very nice work.

i love the photos in the house.

  • SUPERBO thanks!!!!!!!!!!5*****:)

  • whats tah music in the backround???? whos singin it?

  • its awesome stuff mate. love the photo at 1:23

  • Fantastic work.

  • the bear one looks like a paiting very good.

  • some awesome stuff here - I'm just beginning to learn how to use hdr. I think some work better than others - some look almost too good, if that makes sense!

  • watch?v=4BZDpvttyPo

  • ITS such great a work of art, admit it! u can see the difference how the picture changed to a really beautiful one..

  • Great work!

  • Great work!

  • I wish I have know HDR long time ago, for I buy my cheap camera

  • cant say that this video really sold hdr photography for me i think there is too much style and extra editing been put into each image that it is hard to see how it was created from just a photo with a high dynamic range. do you have any more simple shots. ill try load a video of my own examples. tfs

  • I\m looking forward to your video. Actually i do not use HDR processing now in photography.

  • how did u made those glowing clouds?

  • how many layers did you use for each photo?

  • Fauxtopgraphy. That's clever. You're a prick.

  • well it is real. the photographs are combined to make a real composite image. there for real.

  • None of this looks real nor surreal. It's not art, so what is it? Fauxtography.
