It seems she did lose her shoe around 1:50 because you can see her putting it back on. But, the rolling on the floor at the end had nothing to do with shoes!

I was lucky enough to be there for this premiere performance. Yes, a little shakey, but this was her first time on a stage this significant. ZZ Top were the headliners that night, and I still have the beard and sunglasses they passed out to the audience so we would look like them. Crazy night...
Watching Mtv anything was great. But the MTV Music Awards was something special. It's so amazing... when I think of the first time I saw this performance. "Madonna singing Like A Virgin and OMG ! Is that a ...? Yes, that's a cake she's standing on top of and wearing a wedding dress. Who's the guy with her ? What's she gonna do next ! She's so COOL !" I remember watching so intently. Paying attention to her every word and every move cuz at that time she was that lady you kept hearing about.
She also had to be up there competing with Michael Jackson for the ratings. Goddsh I miss those days when they always keep you in suspense wondering what these two would put out on their next performance. Those were the days.....
I think this is Madonna's worst performance...and you can see over the years how she has improved greatly. She is soooo talented yet I think she had alot to learn. It is very funny how this performance has become so famous. I was just a teenager when I first saw this performance and loved it because she was so different. Not to be a hater or anything, but this is actually a massive rip off of Debbie Harry. Debbie Harry did the whole wedding dress routine back in 1977, most famously at the Whiskey a Go Go. She even has Debbie Harry's floor routine down pat. I always wondered because Madonna's entire style during this period was created by Maripol, who knew Debbie Harry from the punk/Mudd Club scene. Anyway this was star making performance.

It's easy to love this if you grew up in the 80s. It was an anthem and Madonna our soon to be queen of pop. From her first video you could see her brilliance and knew she would change music in a big way. I also think that generation was much more loyal to their favorite singers and bands which kinda always keeps them retro-current. Not many stay in it for the long run like Madonna. Just brilliant!

I was lucky enough to be there for this premiere performance. Yes, a little shakey, but this was her first time on a stage this significant. ZZ Top were the headliners that night, and I still have the beard and sunglasses they passed out to the audience so we would look like them. Crazy night...

Watching Mtv anything was great. But the MTV Music Awards was something special. It's so amazing... when I think of the first time I saw this performance. "Madonna singing Like A Virgin and OMG ! Is that a ...? Yes, that's a cake she's standing on top of and wearing a wedding dress. Who's the guy with her ? What's she gonna do next ! She's so COOL !" I remember watching so intently. Paying attention to her every word and every move cuz at that time she was that lady you kept hearing about.

I think this is Madonna's worst performance...and you can see over the years how she has improved greatly. She is soooo talented yet I think she had alot to learn. It is very funny how this performance has become so famous. I was just a teenager when I first saw this performance and loved it because she was so different. Now I look at it and think...wow madonna has improved greatly.

Not to be a hater or anything, but this is actually a massive rip off of Debbie Harry. Debbie Harry did the whole wedding dress routine back in 1977, most famously at the Whiskey a Go Go. She even has Debbie Harry's floor routine down pat. I always wondered because Madonna's entire style during this period was created by Maripol, who knew Debbie Harry from the punk/Mudd Club scene. Anyway this was star making performance.

I first watched this video when I was 8 in the early '90s and I was in love with it. I am so much in love with this music video. If Madonna would go out with me, it would only be this '80s version of her. In other words, I would time travel to '84 and date Madonna if I could. A Material Girl is my kind of woman. ;)

The young girl's voice, owning up and describing her own experience. You seem to focus on Madonna in an unhealthy way. That you won't accept it, is your issue.

It's easy to love this if you grew up in the 80s. It was an anthem and Madonna our soon to be queen of pop. From her first video you could see her brilliance and knew she would change music in a big way. I also think that generation was much more loyal to their favorite singers and bands which kinda always keeps them retro-current. Not many stay in it for the long run like Madonna. Just brilliant!
