  • forever a ditto LMAO!

  • I've heard about this glitch many years ago on GameFAQs, but this is the first time that I've seen it in action. (Kinda annoying that Mystery Gift only works on a GBC, otherwise I would have been able to try this myself long, long ago.) Kinda funny to see Ditto use Karate Chop, although if you try to use it in Pokémon Stadium 2, the move will most likely show up in purple text since it's illegal.

  • (continued) Speaking of Pokémon Stadium 2... you can use the Move Relearner to get Transform back, so you can use the glitch to give Ditto move moves! Kinda cheap... or it would be if Ditto was more powerful. Heh.

(Also, I forgot how horrible VBA's sound quality was until now. Viridian City's music doesn't have that nasty buzzing on a real GB, and the wild battle music sounds a bit off too. VBA-M is far better sound-wise as far as GB and GBC games go...)

  • Also, how were you able to use Mystery Gift on an emulator? I don't think even TGB Dual has IR support... and that's definitely not one of the teams that Carrie (from Pokémon Stadium 2) has...

  • @Blaziken257 Thanks for the recommendation, I'll use VBA-M for recording the sound from now on. I manually edited the WRAM to change the Trainer house Pokémon. A while ago I located the addresses after realising they were stored directly after the Mail Box. I have a version of VBA (1.7.2 v19.3) which seems to default to a really high-amplitude IR signal, but it doesn't seem to support link.

  • @ChickasaurusGL ...and I have no idea what kind of IR signal Gold/Silver wants. The "max-amplitude" IR signal works for games like Chee-Chai Alien though (which Creatures Inc. developed coincidentally). Forgot about the Move Relearner! But I've heard the glitch was also used to teach Mew a few more moves (as he also learns Transform), and Pokémon like Gengar which learn Metronome through Generation I.

  • @ChickasaurusGL ...There's something interesting about the purple text in Pokémon Stadium II, although Dragon Rage is illegal on Magikarp, it still appears in white text. Do any of the in-game Trainers use a Magikarp with Dragon Rage in Pokémon Stadium I or II? The ironic thing is that Magikarp's Generation I event moves (e.g. Bubble) still appear in purple text.

  • @ChickasaurusGL To add to the purple text, through extensive testing, I've found that most event-only moves show up in purple. Even the Odd Egg Pokemon who can't normally know Dizzy Punch end up with the purple text. Why do you think this is? Just lazy programming? I saw it along with the Sweet Kiss/Lovely Kiss events (I actually had a Snorlax from one of those way back when and I remember it being purple and I just tested the Odd Egg Dizzy Punch variant.)

  • Looks like rage glitch

  • @hayoni123 Yeah. This glitch and Rage glitch are very similar.

  • Oh, I remember reading so much on this glitch.. ;w; I could never do it myself, however it's so interesting that I'm excited to get to see it!! Thank you!!

  • @Lioness854 It's a pleasure.
