i love this game... but i get bored so fast since i cant make any money up so i cant get the nice ships! im always always stuck in small fighters and thats it! anyone want to give me the seceret to making a crap load of money and renown (since i dont have the athority to use big ships) and sorry for spelling mistakes, this comment is made at like 3 AM XP

hang around some of the pirate sectors, get a fast ship and take on groups of harriers but nothing bigger. try and nab some loot or if you're lucky capture some ships and sell them. once you get to just over 100k you can buy a TS and a trading extension for your own ship, and send the frieghter around on milk runs. easiest is buying power cells in Ore Belt and selling them in Argon Prime. When you get to 500k buy trade system mk3, give it to your TS and make it do sector trading

the best sectors for making a TS sector trader are Queen's Space and Empire's Edge.

@sdk2013 the big ship is the argon titan/one i think. and the one thats brodsided is an orbital weopons platform i think. havent been able to play in ages. i got a new comp and the cd version doesnt work on windows 7. ill have to download off steam and that takes forever since its 9gb with patches

IDK about that but let me tell you this I am a big fan of space RTS-s and SoaSE isn't bad for me but X3:Reunion (and of course I think TC will be even better when I get it) is much better to me then SoaSE.

Livingforpace, I don't personally know which is better. I've only played SoaSE. I'll take your word for it that the X3 games are better.

My comment was about how it looks like Ironclad (one of the makers of SoaSE) cribbed the images from X3, or vice versus.

Probably the former, given that SoaSE has been out for less than two years, and it seems that there is more than one X3 title (implying more than one game, which takes more than two years.)

@rafis117 They can't be compared, SoaSE and X3 are in two completely different genres. SoaSE is an RTS like Homeworld, X3 is a simulation like Silent Hunter.

I was noting that the ship models look very similar, and because the X3 games are significantly older than SoaSE I guessed that Ironclad was inspired by, or straight-up took, X3's ship models.

yep it is a shooter rts with some roleplay in it depends how you play it, it isn't easy before you know it you can be attacked by desroyers before you even have a fleet

Yep. Its first person shooter in the way you fly etc. But you can also buy fleets, stations etc whic hare controlled by AI and you can give them commands etc, giving you some major battles at times 8)

You can also commandeer unclaimed ships, buy your own ships, and give orders to these ships. However, to give orders, you must save up to buy the software to put into them. The most simplistic software is super cheap, but to get the best you'll be paying around half a million. It's space simulation first person shooter game. It uses the exact same perspective as freelancer. You can only see from a first person or third person perspective of the ship you are flying in, first person if you want to stay alive. There is no view of walking around in a space station or on planets. You basically gain rep to gain money until you can afford other means, such as having a station constructed, and/or commanding/commandeering transports to sell/buy goods. Oh, and there's the story

for gods sake, this is the most awesome game I've ever played in my whole life. buy it, or you'll regret it. You just build up your own empire, and get to shoot lots of "bad guys". And you die very few times.
