  • do you know how i can burn a 8gb dmg file over 1 or 2 disc?

  • @EmoceanUK is right this is a shitty video.. @macmaster4848 but still thanks, it worked.

  • ok i did this on TransMac (on pc) and there is an image that's 6.3 gigs, but with 2.4 gigs free space, is there a way to "shrink it" to the amount used?

  • @ImTheSeekr

Dmgs are formats for Mac and are not easy to modify on Windows, try using Google to search for some guides, but it will not be easy if possible. You might be able to use WinRAR to edit the dmg. Try finding a dmg to iso converter, that might "shrink" the size.

  • @macmaster4848 i edited it and then restored it on my mac, my graphics card is gonna overheat from running OS 10

  • ummmm ummmm ummmmm um ummmm ummm ummm um ummm

  • yeah, ummm, how do i do it with my windows 7 pc. my 2 g3s are n storage and the one with a dvd burner has a broken video card.

  • @DannySuarez89

    That would be very illegal.

  • Can you please do a remake of this video. I trying to burn Snow Leopard 10.6 to a 4.7 Gb DVD so that I can update to Mac OS X Lion. I cannot do it without first having Mac OS X 10.6 from what I have been reading. "IN ADDITION: I feel you made verbal communication mistake. "I understand you may have not wanted to do the step by step directions( Making you do what you already did), but that will be most helpful to 1st time 10.6 Snow Leopard burners: If we could follow your exact steps.

  • @YouFunTuber

You don't need to burn Snow Leopard to update to Mac OS X Lion. You can burn a Lion USB or get a Lion USB stick at an Apple Store.

  • @macmaster4848 >.<.. It would be stupid to screw up and not be able to install to snow leopard, that's why he wants to burn snow leopard

  • @Th1s1sMyAcc0untNam3

Making a Lion USB is safer and faster than burning a compressed Snow Leopard disk.

  • @macmaster4848 Already figured that, but yeah you're right

  • nah, um a um a a a a a um because um a I um a a a a um um um um a a a know um um um um a a um a um that um I a a a a wouldn't um um um a a a um um um be a good um at a a a um a a um it

  • Respond to this video... ummmmmmm umm and umm ummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

  • Hey, can I do this with snow leopard?

  • I made the disc it works and everything, but it does not install when I try it says cannot find right files to install, what do I do?

  • @jdogtalks

The processor might not be powerful enough for Leopard, did you use the original disk? You could try burning it again or use other tutorials to use a USB drive.

  • @macmaster4848 No it worked and it was installing but after about a minute it would say packages are missing from the installer and Mac is x cannot be installed, I'm on an iBook g4 1ghz with an upgraded 640mbs of ram for leopard

  • @jdogtalks

You might have deleted a needed file. Try deleting only the files I said in the video.

  • @macmaster4848 i did, i deleted all the languges all the printer drivers and the xcode tools and the install does not work when i go to customize to uncheck the packages that i deleted their are some languges that i cannot uncheck and its making the installation fail! im not happy :(

  • @jdogtalks

Did you delete AsianLanguagesSupport? I think that file will make the installation corrupt if deleted.

  • @jdogtalks

Also make sure you do not delete the other files that could not be unchecked.

  • Wow this worked! Im shocked, the 4.7gb DVD boots just like a retail leopard disc, but it takes 20 minutes to load into the installer which I am going to use to install leopard onto my iBook g4

  • Good Job, macmaster. viewed some of you tutorial cast somewhere else and liked them.

Some comments are harsh, please ignore them and keep it up.

  • i need more stuff im only at 4.8 gigs what else don't I need

  • @rcboatdriver1234

Check if it is giga bits or giga bytes, there is a big difference. And if you downloaded it which I cannot help you with at all then it might have extra files.

  • @macmaster4848 yeah its gigabytes gigabits is kinda used more for speed ratings windows never uses gigabits for size

  • Hi, you have great information and a great video that is clear (which helps alot when being instructed), but if I may, slow down and speak clearly and loud enough. Its hard to understand you and your going way to fast when your dictating the steps via visually. Other than that its all there but a bit buffled. Thanks for the vid and keep it up. :D

  • Your a bellend ur instructions r shit. write down wa ur going to do an then plan the video, ur mummbling bubbles

  • @EmoceanUK

You don't even have any videos, so don't tell me how to make a video.

  • @EmoceanUK First of all, lrn2spell and lrn2grammar before you pointlessly flame somebody. Your blatant ignorance is kinda not helping your case. Second of all, um.. I guess I'll just reiterate how moronic you sound. It's laughable that you'd be insulting somebody.

  • You need to sort out your delivery and pitch.

  • hi there great video any chance u could tell me where did u download them mac files from

  • @zacp4537

Downloading the Mac OS iso is illegal so unfortunately I cannot help you in any way, if you want to find a place to download Mac OS, don't look here.

  • @macmaster4848 dude shut up its illegal showing people how to do this

  • @AaronParvinTv

How is this illegal? You are allowed to make 1 legal backup of Mac OS X, and if you make a backup and lose the disk, you'll need this tutorial.

  • the way you present this is very confusing...you need one continual video, having it change every few mins is very confusing.

  • @mripod64

I cut unneeded bits out, for example things loading, to save bandwidth, because I can't upload videos due to bandwidth limits.

  • @macmaster4848 ah ok that makes sence, you should still try to make a continues video though, and maybe a lot less "um" but other then that not a bad vid, actually helped me a bit

  • @mripod64

I try making a video about 10 times to not make a big mistake.

  • Hi, I cant even delete any files... says I don't have sufficient permission :(

  • thanks dude took me like 4 hours but done it wondered why i kept getting error's PEOPLE DON'T FORGET THE CARBON COPY THINGY :L Leran from my mistakes.

  • @AppleKidWizard

I think you can use the restore if you have a high quality DVD or if you use Tiger, because I heard Apple changed something in Disk Utility in Leopard+.

  • how do you this on windows XP :S

  • @zainuintel

I haven't done this before on Windows XP and this might be risky if you use the wrong program because the dvd will not be bootable, try to do this on a friends Mac or try looking on Google, if you need more help just reply, but I recommend you use a Mac to avoid risks of messing up your Mac.

  • @macmaster4848 um i tried doing this and it came to 4.37GB

also when i try to install, it says MAC OS X could not be installed

'BSD' is corrupt please clean DVD

and i clean it but no luck :( pleeeez hlpe

  • @zainuintel

Did you do it on Windows XP?

  • @macmaster4848 yes, then i did the ame thing ons mac at my freinds but now i cant go to his house so yah i can only do anything with xp

  • @zainuintel

Are you trying to run the disk on a Mac or PC (hackintosh)?

  • @macmaster4848 hackintosh :D

    i got sse2

  • @zainuintel

There is a very big difference between PC and Mac. If you have AIM or Skype, add me, username is macmaster4848.

  • @macmaster4848 um i only got MSN AND YOUTUBE AND FACEBOOK

NO AIM, ill probally make one, not now though its 10:00 pm now so proballtomorrow

    thanks

  • @zainuintel

PM me when you have made one.

  • speak english, im tryn to learn here, omg

  • would this work with snow leopard?

  • @TJVidzone

    Yes, why not.

  • @macmaster4848 because snow leopard is a larger dmg file and i could not shrink it lower than 4.7 gb

  • @TJVidzone

Did you delete XCode and ALL printer drivers and languages and empty trash?

  • @macmaster4848 yes i did all of that.

  • @TJVidzone

What was the original size of the image?

  • @macmaster4848 6.13 gb

  • @TJVidzone

Are you using the retail disk?

  • @macmaster4848 Yes, the final retail disk. The build is 10A432

  • @TJVidzone

    Have you got iChat?

  • @macmaster4848 On my machine at the moment? Yes, but I never use it.

  • @TJVidzone

I could do screenshare on it and see if there is anything else that could be deleted. My username is same as YouTube username.

  • @macmaster4848 Can you inform me as what screenshare is? Never heard of it

  • @TJVidzone

Just log in iChat and message me, and I'll send you a screenshare invite. Screenshare lets other people control your computer through iChat, and you can stop it by closing iChat.

  • @macmaster4848 Is this free? And if so, when would you want to?

  • @TJVidzone

Do you have an iChat account? And yes it is free.

  • @macmaster4848 I have it setup as AIM.

  • thanks for the video, subscribed!

  • If anyones wondering, on Windows you can use UltraISO to open the DMG and do what is in the video. The folders look slightly different, what would be a hidden folder on Mac (or Linux) shows up as .filename, EG .vol

But you can still delete the files shown in the video.

  • hi,how can I do this with snow leopard?Thanks

  • @bolojr

    It is the same.

  • @macmaster4848 The folders are different though...xD

  • @bolojr

It should be the same or similar, I did it and it was the same.

  • @macmaster4848 lol, since I am on Windows,I had to change the format to .iso in order to the see the files. Thanks!

  • @bolojr

    Did it work?

  • @macmaster4848 hey dude my disk is 4.3 gb and im down to 4.4gb.I deleted stuff like ical ichat and developertool. What else can I delete and was it safe to delete those files?

  • @bolojr

Keep all apps like iChat, the installation might fail. Did you delete all the languages and printer drivers?
