  • Interesting session. Was the little doe maiden? Notice he hit the her first and then seemed to have difficulty consummating the act with the larger one. Any comments or insight?

  • Yep, both were first fresheners. The breed target for Mini-Oberhaslis is 50% Nigerian Dwarf, 50% Oberhasli, with Ober coloring, and the buck and smaller doe were about that. The bigger one was 75% Oberhasli, and a little tall for him - but it worked!

  • ah haha i breed my goats at 8 months already..not 10...

  • These girls were about 18 months old at the time. The babies that resulted (3 does, 1 boy) still seemed a little small to breed this year; hard to tell how big they'll get when you're establishing a new cross between full-size and dwarf goats

  • What breed was the buck? He looked too big for a pygmy ...

  • i want to say a nigerian dwarf mix but im not sure

  • The buck and the two red does are Mini-Oberhaslis, a mix of Nigerian Dwarf and Oberhasli (Swiss dairy) goat. The breeding resulted in three girls and a boy =)

  • actully he mate the two.fine

  • actually a goat will be bred by a billy at 3 months to let you know
