  • Based on the very slow wind-up and wind-down along with the low amount of reverb, that was the Erick going off.

  • why the hey are there 3 tornado sirens thats crazzyyy!!

  • That Model 2001 has been up thee for a short time. I remember when there was a Thunderbolt just off to the left of the water tower about 200 feet away and yes, I have heard all 3 sirens going off during a storm back in the 1980's. I wish I had a video or audio of that.

  • sounds like an STH10, is that because of the same number of ports?

  • @JustBearWithMe Most single tone sirens sound the same to me! It depends mostly on motor RPM.

  • @JPa311979

The siren you are hearing in this video is a classic Erick fire siren. I've heard one in person on my way to school when I was on campus at South Williamsport Jr./Sr. High School sounding for a chimney fire. The Erick fire siren company made these sirens in the 1930s and the one I heard and the one you heard are 2 of maybe millions of sirens nationwide! Sweet video by the way! Classic vintage siren sound!

  • nice

  • @firepipernickb Thanks!

  • When do the others sound?

  • @tycoonkid9 They would use the 2001 for an emergency and one of the sirens for the 9PM sounding.

  • Does the one at the bottom ever activates?

  • @CorvetteLoverZR1 I think they only use the FS 2001 and one of the sirens on the tower.

  • tower of sirens, a 2001, a model 5 and an older model 5

  • I remember it not taking so long to wind up in earlier years. I wonder it is possible to rebuild these sirens?

  • holy shit theres three sirens right there lol

  • there's two sirens on the tower, is one for the noon blast? is this one just a curfew siren? Also they looked dented or bent.

  • Ya only one siren on that tower sound.

  • @JPa311979 I ll have to ride over here and see if I can get the noon blast if there is one. I tried taking video of the Osseo's noon blast not too far from here but it's timer is malfunctioning.

  • @JPa311979 I went here today and it did not sound at noon, does this only sound at 9pm?

  • @Worcester2007 I don't think I've ever heard it sound at noon.

  • Great video of that Erick siren,! :)

  • I was told in an earlier comment that it was the Erick, but it was difficult for me to tell even when I was there. I would like to ask the people in charge to find out for sure. There is a fire and police station next to the tower.

  • They didn't make dual tone ericks...

  • Comment removed

  • Decot used dual tone and Erick disagreed with dual tone.

  • It sounds like a Model 5. I've never heard an Erick, but that's a Model 5 if I've ever heard one.

  • That's a beautiful wind down! Love it!

  • Do you know of any other sirens that do a 9:00PM curfew blast in Minnesota also iwhen i was 15 yrs old i heard a Thunderbolt 1000T in the distance at 9:00PM but it was by some sort of plant when i went to a camp it a YMCA camp it was located in independence MN in western Hennepin County

  • sounds like an STH-10

  • Indeed.

  • Awesome video of the Erick siren John!

  • Thanks Andy!

  • Very nice Erick siren. It sounds just like a Model 5.

Is the 2001 next to it used for tornadoes?

  • They use the 2001 for tornadoes, never heard the model 5 or 7.

  • a 2001, an Erick siren, & a model 5? wow thats an awful lot of sirens in one sector, imagine how all three would sound going off together.

  • I think that is the Erick that sounded, not the model 5 or 7. right?

  • yes it was the Erick that sounded, the other two remained silent

  • ...and all three are 12 port sirens sounding almost exactly the same pitch.
