yngwies old guitar tone before his car accident was much better and in my opinion 1984/85 were his best years because i looked up on wikipedia that yngwie damaged the nerves in his playing hand so no wonder he wasnt as good as this again it was sad to hear that his mother died while he was in a coma that is sad
blackmore may be the original but yngwie is a heck of a lot more talented on the guitar than blackmore i mean blackmore was fast in his day but yngwie destroyed everyone as far as speeds concerned just a shame yngwies not as good a songwriter as blackmore but at least yngwie has not gone mad like blackmore and thinks hes in the 16th century lol
Alcatrazz was a cool band and Yngwie did a great job back then....but....I don't like his attitude... I don't even like HIM... Sorry but... No one comes near RITCHIE BLACKMORE !
@RicardoDiazHimself I was in a band with another guitarist who said this same thing. I suggested we play a few cover tunes since we only had 1 set of original material. He looked at me like I was nuts! "Then I'd have to learn somebody else's music." he said. I asked him who he listened to for inspiration? He said " I only listen to my own music and I only listen to you play because your in MY band and we write music together"
I think Graham Bonnet was an anomaly in the world of rock'n roll. As a very fantastic singer, his wearing and appearances only made him look like older brother of George Michael or father of Ace Ventura..
But with this thing we can admit that "Let the music do the talking" is true, a cynical go at most of rock vocalist coming from 80's
@paulopezz Yeah ! This kind of virtuosity was a tremendous achievement. And I'm not only talking about the speed, but the sheer blues rock touch of the motherfucker ! The swagger when he shakes the strings and reaches for those bends in the upper register after playing some already impossible shit, everything with the greatest tone you can get from a strat and a Marshall. And all this while doing those Ian Anderson moves.... It's just too much !!! LOL
what's the name of the music at 1:11:42 in the video ?

Yngwie:" NO.. I dont listen to other guitar players. I hear them, but i dont listem to them... big difference"

Well, I quit HIS band a week or so later.

@RicardoDiazHimself Even the Rolling Stones do covers. Basically every one of their albums in fact has at least one cover tune on it !
I assume they "listen" to the other artists in order to cover their material !!!

@RicardoDiazHimself He must have somehow brought himself to listen to Michael Schenker because they played an MSG song.
LOL it must have been painful for Yngwie to lower himself down to the amatuerish level of Schenker.

@RicardoDiazHimself Yngwie does Jimi Hendrix covers in his live shows often.

i think people forget, nobody played like yngwie in 1984.
only yngwie himself.

@FreeTheJambon yeh your probably right there, but he was an original wasnt he,
i mean ,age, his car accident , alcohol and not being so focused as when he was young maybe has changed his playing .
as well as moving forward as a player too
.but hes still great.
so many guitarist copy him like they do eddie vanhalen.
i dont think there are many truely original guitarists like Eddie or Yngwie.
