I'm almost 20 now, 5ft11 and have been stuck on 145lb for almost a year, I do free weights every other day and go for a run/cycle on the others and have 1 day a week rest, i have whey protein before and after every work out and before and after i go to sleep, i eat loads nuts, rice, pasta, chicken, yogurts etc, but don't seem to be gaining, my arms have got harder and bigger yet i some how haven't gained weight.

im confused....if i multiply my body weight by 24 is that the amount i need to maintain my weight or the amount i need to gain weight???!!! please answerr
i'm 115 and i'm 14 years old, no matter how much i eat and do exercises i just can't get bigger and stronger i'm not weak actually i'm pretty average and i play water polo and i'm in swim and water polo does that help at all please respond or answer back thank you :D
@BrutalBaconz I'm struggling to build muscle. I'm 14, just considered bulking up and muscle building. I don't know what to eat to gain weight because I'm about 95 pounds and my ideal weight would be about 110 pounds! Also, I have high metabolism (ectomorph). What should I eat and how often should I workout?
@Ulpathilirium Idk how it came to me, but I started eating a lot of peanut butter at night (i took advice from the internet, peanut butter was my only high source of protein), i took spoons of them, i did this for like a week and i ate more in general.
Along with that i would exercise in my free time, like when i wake up, after i do homework, before i go to sleep. Since then it turned into a schedule and i started making proper time for it.
i'm 13 and weight 90 pounds, it sucks cause all my friends tease me, i go to the gym once or twice a week, and im trying to eat as much protien as possible, please help...

@MelbourneMaster thanks for the advice bro, but I attend gym(have been a year, TOUGH train) because I born with a "hole" in my chest. It's sunk. Everytime I take my shirt off, someone say: "hey, what do you have on your chest? LOL" It is pretty anoying. Since I started gym it was stopping, so I won't quit gym.
So.. chest on mondays and fridays, ok, could you tell me the rest?
Can someone answer me? He says I need to do the workouts 3-4 times a week, so..I should do: Monday, Wednesday, Friday and.. Sunday?
Sunday: my back and biceps | Monday: my chest and triceps | Wednesday: legs |
Friday: ????
How should I do? and.. should I work my abs everyday? i'm skinny, I'm going to gym have been 1 year. I was thinking about drinking 1 liter(1000ml) of milk per day, will that help?
@lbertolossi You wanna hit each muscle group twice a week. For example chest on mondays and fridays. You should give your specific muscle at least 3 days rest before hitting it again. No you dont have to drink 1L milk everyday. Just keep track of how many proteins you get each day. If you're a hardgainer (skinny) you should get about 2g protein pr. kg of bodyweight. BTW dont believe the title, with great nutrition the maximum you would expect to gain pr. year is about 5 kg (hardgain)
@lbertolossi if you are only 14 years old, I would strongly advise you to wait at least 3 years before working out. Its a very bad idea to do tough workout, because your bones aren't done growing. If you start now you danger the natural growth of you bones. I have a friend who started working out when he was 15, he worked out every day for 1 year, he is 20 today and since then he hasn't grown in height. So wait a couple of years kid, Im not kiddin, or ask your doctor for advise!
i don't disagree with your information but i kno for a fact u didn't but on 40lbs in a couple weeks...how long u been working out for? i don't like misleading advertisement..
im 115 pounds, been workin out for 5 months, took weight trainin in high school n was in football so i know how to eat and work out n rest and diet, and in those 5 months of working out, im still 115 pounds and i did not go up in muscle mass or benchin at all, my first max was 95 at bench n now its 100,, and still skinny as hell,, any tips? please?
You want to gain weight? Its not so much about calorie intake, as protein intake, and just not allowing yourself to get hungry. Protein intake should equate to roughly twice your body weight in lbs converted to grams. Example, 150lbs should eat 300 grams + of protein daily. Eat meals every two hours to prevent metabolism from using nutrients for energy rather then building muscle. Meals should consist of complex carbs, and lean proteins in the AM, and simpler carbs and protein throughout the day
My body has gone from 167lbs @ 6'4" to 196lbs at under 9% body fat, with a bench press starting at 185 which is now 250lbs. You want to gain muscle, this is how you do it. You have to force the body to grow, or it just wont. With workouts, I tend to like to split them into push oriented workout days, and pull oriented workout days on mon, wed, and fri, with the weekend off. I spend 2-3 hours in the gym every time I'm in there. Best plan is to start with compound exorcises, then start to isolate
Also, to caveat: If your trying to gain muscle on your chest then bench press is not the ideal way to go. I know this guy in the vid mentioned it, and it should be in your routine, however it should not be your money maker for gains in the chest as there are much better ways to train that muscle group, IE dumbell press, cables ect...
I'm 16, 6'2 and weigh about 148lbs. I eat all the right stuff I just need to start going to the gym and drinking protein shake, What protein shake would you recommend?
@paintballKid545 There's no way to really answer your question because no one here knows your level of fitness. Working out one body part per day is good for advanced bodybuilders but that's because they are strong enough to do this.
@Killer390 Okay well im young and healthy and i have been working out like this for a long time now but i just wanted to know if i had been doing it wrong for all this time. And i am in the advanced level. But how long did it take You to gain that 30lbs.
Yo can any1 that really knows answer me this question I'm 16 yrs old 5'8 and I weight 140 I look skinny or that's the way I feel can any of u tell me the proper weight forme
Hey man, awesome video. How long did it take for you to go from 115 LBS to 160 LBS? I'm at around 115LBS at the moment, not sure what my body fat is. I'm also 27 years old so I'm not on any growth spurt either. I just recently started lifting and improving my diet, and I want to know how long it'll take to see some good results. Thanks!
im 16 years old 6'3 in height and weigh 180 pounds.....should i have to worry about gaining anymore weight? how often should i drink supplement? and should i run on my off days? someone plz help!!
I am 18 years old, 5'11 and have been working out for about 2 months now eating around 3000 calories a day, about 160 grams of protein a day. I feel like I should have more muscle than I do now. Are my muscle gains covered by fat which is why I don't think I look more muscular or is it just fat I'm putting on?
@bpriester1 well calories are fine are you working out enough, are you varying your workouts or just doing bench press everyday, are you increasing the weight dont be afraid to do so, third and for most thats A LOT of protein and you most likely go to the bathroom a lot, because your pooping at least 90 grams of that protein out you dont need that much , and it can be bad for your kidneys to process that much protein. Good luck my fellow skinny guy! i hope to see gains just like you!
@madden11anything LOL! a month? are you on crack...try working out for over an hour a day. I'm talking 5-6 SETS, with like 6-8 reps. Multiple excercises, and little rest between excercises (60secs max).
man i realy like ur video, but i eat alot and still 68 killos, i sleep 6 hours, and work like normal, but its killing me man, maybe cuz i smoke and drink alot alot alot of energy drink sugar, plzzzzz help
@Newbpwng you're not working out enough or you're not skinny. He said this was for skinny fast motabolism dudes. Take in less calories and work harder.
@musclemonsters I workout everyday, pushups, some weights, but I don't get sore the next day. I do about 50 pushups and 3 reps of 10 on weights and no soreness. Should I still workout every other day? What should I change?
@AltamonTKidd gallon of milk a day and the heavy compounds...squats, deadlifts, dips, pull ups, bench press, military presses..etc. Youll gain a little fat but its easy to get it off
Been at it for 9 months and ive gotten little results...hate being a fuckn ecto!
Ive tried eating 3000 calories a day for about a week...but i quit on that because it was just stressful trying to consume that many calories. And besides that week i didnt gain shit!!!
@mynameismobydick I take whey protein immediately following my workouts. This is great for fast absorbtion. Mass gainers, not a fan. I keep them handy in case I have emergencies and absolutely cannot get a nutrient dense meal.
@TheSOGDog push ups, and pull ups. While doing pull ups, try and hold at the top for as long as possible until you drop. I used to be 6'2, 155 lbs. Now I am 6'4 224 lbs. I eat a lot as well. I do about 100 push ups and 30-50 pull ups a day. I have been doing this for 2 year's now. I hope this helps.
@MrAlan9000 eat a shit load and do push ups and pull ups for starters. Eat meals with tuna, beef, and potatoes. Drink lots of milk, water, and juice. This will get you started. Half these fucks on youtube do not know or tell you shit. Stay away from supplements , most of them are garbage. good luck.
@TheSOGDog Some advice, find your caloric intake than eat 500 calories more, eat about 0.8-1 grams of protein per pound of bodyweight. last thing is, rest. make sure you get about 8 hours of sleep a night or more, and also make sure you rest about 3 days before you hit that same muscle group again so the muscle has time to recover.
@TheSOGDog i would recommend the following supplements: ON serious mass, ON whey, creatine mono-hydrate. doing what you're doing now will get you moderate results in 5 years! but if you start using these supplements then you will get better results in as little as two years. can you give me your stats? like how much you can life for each workout? i think i can help you out.
@SuperBumblebeecamaro Dude the reason why you don't put on weight is becouse you still grow !!!! You're a teenager a lot of teenagers donesn't seems to put on weight thats normal ! Don't be sad ! :)
@Bananayoghurt1000 i pounds cause for a guy around 55 kg he should eat only 1.100 kalories. In pounds its around 110 x 20 =2200 kalories daily. So it makes sence
@mandunya thnx..protein ok. can i use protein powder i mean egg protien. . nd pls tell me sme protien foods plzzz...n 1 thng more i hv sme acne so which protein foods i hv to use
@hussain10soc i have acne also and you can eat, eggs , veggies, fruits lots of fruits drink those shakes and milk lots n lots n lots n lots n lots of milk n water
If your 15 the gains you achieve through your workouts and nutrition will occur regardless of how much or how little you eat and workout. Your body is still growing and maturing until your about 19 and older when your at the age to actually maximize your gains.
@TheSOGDog do more reps untill your arms cant do one more, try and do heavier weights even if its just 2 or 3kg or pounds more you need to work your muscle to make them grow and make sure you eat within like 40min after you work out otherwise your body will start breaking down your muscle for energy
No wonder i can't gain muscle. Coz i been working out 5days, didn't eat & sleep enough. been workout for 2yrs n still 62kg....what a waste..

So wait a couple of years kid, Im not kiddin, or ask your doctor for advise!

namlesssme 1 month ago
You want to gain weight? Its not so much about calorie intake, as protein intake, and just not allowing yourself to get hungry. Protein intake should equate to roughly twice your body weight in lbs converted to grams. Example, 150lbs should eat 300 grams + of protein daily. Eat meals every two hours to prevent metabolism from using nutrients for energy rather then building muscle. Meals should consist of complex carbs, and lean proteins in the AM, and simpler carbs and protein throughout the day
Gotjits0156 1 month ago
My body has gone from 167lbs @ 6'4" to 196lbs at under 9% body fat, with a bench press starting at 185 which is now 250lbs. You want to gain muscle, this is how you do it. You have to force the body to grow, or it just wont. With workouts, I tend to like to split them into push oriented workout days, and pull oriented workout days on mon, wed, and fri, with the weekend off. I spend 2-3 hours in the gym every time I'm in there. Best plan is to start with compound exorcises, then start to isolate
Gotjits0156 1 month ago
Also, to caveat: If your trying to gain muscle on your chest then bench press is not the ideal way to go. I know this guy in the vid mentioned it, and it should be in your routine, however it should not be your money maker for gains in the chest as there are much better ways to train that muscle group, IE dumbell press, cables ect...
Gotjits0156 1 month ago
I'm 16, 6'2 and weigh about 148lbs. I eat all the right stuff I just need to start going to the gym and drinking protein shake, What protein shake would you recommend?

paintballKid545 1 month ago
@paintballKid545 There's no way to really answer your question because no one here knows your level of fitness. Working out one body part per day is good for advanced bodybuilders but that's because they are strong enough to do this.

bolsenny 2 months ago
I am 18 years old, 5'11 and have been working out for about 2 months now eating around 3000 calories a day, about 160 grams of protein a day. I feel like I should have more muscle than I do now. Are my muscle gains covered by fat which is why I don't think I look more muscular or is it just fat I'm putting on?
bpriester1 2 months ago
@bpriester1 your putting on some water weight which helps build muscle just keep it up, throw in some sets around 16-20 if u want more definition
RooRChronic 2 months ago
@bpriester1 well calories are fine are you working out enough, are you varying your workouts or just doing bench press everyday, are you increasing the weight dont be afraid to do so, third and for most thats A LOT of protein and you most likely go to the bathroom a lot, because your pooping at least 90 grams of that protein out you dont need that much , and it can be bad for your kidneys to process that much protein. Good luck my fellow skinny guy! i hope to see gains just like you!

Stay away from supplements , most of them are garbage. good luck.
johnnypneumonic 3 months ago
@TheSOGDog Some advice, find your caloric intake than eat 500 calories more, eat about 0.8-1 grams of protein per pound of bodyweight. last thing is, rest. make sure you get about 8 hours of sleep a night or more, and also make sure you rest about 3 days before you hit that same muscle group again so the muscle has time to recover.

If your 15 the gains you achieve through your workouts and nutrition will occur regardless of how much or how little you eat and workout. Your body is still growing and maturing until your about 19 and older when your at the age to actually maximize your gains.
