guys, don't get the x10 cos sony won't allow u to update to the latest android software, trust me, i'v got one, unfortunately. i kinda regret buying the phone now. It's also very slow and u cant put the apps onto the sd card, well not my 1 anyway. hope this helped.

I just got the latest firmware for my X10 in the UK. Its got this on it - I don't see the point of it, its just a silly toy for kids.

How do I uninstall it - it will not let me. Why do companies INSIST on putting stuff out that you cannot uninstall? It does the customers no favours. I don't want it and get angry when i see it taking up my memory.

So please allow people to uninstall.

I moved from an iPhone 32gb 3GS to this phone... and omg... biggest mistake i have ever made... phone is so SLOW and SLUGGISH and hangs up on people. This phone in riddled with bugs! Marketing and advertising of the same looks good but really... don't waste your time and money on this pointless phone!

@golala4 I've had the X10 for some time now and have had slight problems with it but none as serious as you have stated. I know its annoying but doesn't every phone have problems? Besides, if you don't like it then switch back to iPhone.

@WorthingStProjects Couldn't take the Sony Ericsson X10 anymore... i ended up throwing that poorly programed phone in the rubbish... I did end up goin back to my iPhone and never looked back... now i got my new iPhone 4 and love it!!! I admire Sony for trying... but forcing an incomplete phone to the market was a horrible mistake... two of my mates have... should i say had X10's and now they all went back to there iPhone's and may i say that iPhone 4 "Reception issue crap" was over rated :D

This app is SH*T!!!!!!! Comes pre-installed with my X10, I have had my X10 for about 1 & 1/2 months now, and i dont have this App.!!! so what are you talking about?

As for being on Android 1.6.... Being a X10 user is like being on Windows 2000 at this present time in moment... Windows 7 is out now.. Sony Ericsson are pathetic !!! its taking them until Q3 to release 2.1 when 2.2 is out Now.. and 2.3 will be out when we have 2.1 .... ... what is the point?

the in-Call Volume is really low on X10...otherwise the phone is working great for me.

@technisearch Check out the Sony Ericsson blog. I think they've stated on there that there will be upgrades throughout the product life including at least one android firmware revision. The firmware upgrade is reportedly to be a custom one with lots of care and attention (Rachael UI stuff) integrated.

i am very disappointed in xperia x10 - i have it for a few days now, the biggest problem is that you cant get all the aps in the market - only free aps(Croatia - VIP) son i cant get the navigations software. Futhere more there is on way to end the mobile network without disableing it. I dont understand how the SE can introduce the high end phone without sofware support (upgrade the software, give us multitouch and solve the problems with buggy interface) or no xperia the iphone killer

Hey Albin, I went to buy phone yesterday but didnt...as it runs on 1.6 :( and also I found it silly that it doesnt have multitouch....Please tell me if there would be an update which will have multitouch..or i wont buy it... :)

@UndeniableLust SE are still unsure about the multi touch feature. Android 2.2 supports multi touch so you might be able to have multi touch when you update the x10's software. Anyways, multi touch doesn't really make much difference, all you get is pinch zooming as far as I know...

@misanthrope013 Have you even used the X10? It may only have 1.6 but it's still a dream to run, and the only slowdowns I've everexperienced are when doing the 3d bits in timescape.

@Scald42 yes ive had the phone for 3 months now. and its slow. timescape and mediascape are slow. the camera is brutal too. ive had too many situations where i had to tell people to chill during a pose while my camera launches, or shit, someone blinked in that last photo, lets do it again. then it takes its time to save the garbage picture, so i try again, and then its frozen. push back key, nothing, push home key, black screen. fuckin super.

Ok, but how about creating an app that can enable the Audio Equalizer on the device! I mean come on, this should be a multimedia phone, right? Even your cheapest SE phones have an audio equalizer, why you haven't add this very importand feature to the X10 is beyond me!

Now that the X10 has a 3.5mm headphone jack, it would be a pity to not include some sound enhancers (I don't need no cheap apple ipod sound when listening to music on the X10) and besides, we're talking about Sony Ericsson here. They really should continue concentrating on audio quality as well.

I totally agree! but I can almost see that there will be no such thing as audio enhancers and equalizers because SE is focusing on other things right now..wish I knew what that was! And look at the satio for example! a high-end device and no sound equalizer! :(

Why do you need an equaliser?

Don't mean to be rude, but the X10's frequency response will probably be very flat, with no need for equalisation.

What you need to do is get some decent in ear monitors.

For a good audio experience you do need an equalizer. Look at the ipod for example. No audio equalizer and the sound is flat and so unnatural even with good quality headphones. And by the way, I own the sony ex500 and ex700 monitors and while comparing those headphones with my Walkman X and iphone touch, I can tell you the difference is huge. The Sony sounds very good. Oh and the Sony Walkman X has an equalizer as well ;)
