I went through this in the late 1970s. 1 PPCLI. FNC1,C2, etc. I must say the boys today look to be far better equipped than in my day. Good to see the same old high spirit and yes as others have said it isn't all fun with the course instructors kicking your ass all the time, though we realize they do it for a reason. solder on boys. This old ex Pat is proud of you, and appreciates what you do and stand for.

you might get an answer to your question here, but you'd be better off getting all of them answered by visiting your local recruiting branch. they'll tell you what the requirements are and what you should expect during training and military life.

@77METALLICA55 at 17 you can join Reg Force but you need your parents concent , which is just their signature , but honestly the Reg Force Infantry and Artillery are full for the next while , I suggest you do reserves for now and get some of the training done before you do a CT (Component Transfer)..

no you don't need to finish edjucation all you need is grade 10 but thats good for 10+ jobs in reg force go to the CF websight and job explorer and for edjucation click grade 10/ sec III for quebec. you can also talk to a recruter in olnine chat and he can send you links to info to best awnser your questions and they will send you the transcript of chat a day or two later via e-mail incase you loose the link or forget what they sent/said

the online recruter hours are from 12pm to 4pm eastern

go to their website. they have all the basic training excersises. It's like a progressive 3-6 km jog w/equipment, a progressive 2-4 km march, expected like 15 situps (difference based on age) like 10 pushups, 5 pullups, etc. its not crazy or anything its within reason, and its "progressive" because they start small and work everyone up, don't worry. It's like a 4 or 5 week thing.

they won't show you your test. After they correct it the pull you out 1 by 1 and tell you if you have passed or not, then you book for interview.medicall exam then fitness test

I just finished my aptitude test and after that they make you fill out this drug form. You need to check off whatever you've done and list the dates you've used it and how frequently you've used it. I know some guys checked off pot because they smoked if a few times in high school, so you should be ok unless you still smoke it all the time.

i had to piss as part of my medical, and i had gotten into a fight the night before so they found blood in my urine.. took me forever to get a hold of a specialist, and i couldn't continue until i saw one. to add to the problem, i had been arrested for the fight, charged, told to come back after the trial, so now, 2 years later, i have 5 months probation and i can finally join ^_^ one could say i went to college for this job...

Dude Kandahar is safe because it's in control of Australians Canadians American's and Britain the real fighting is in the outback mountains where Canada and US have little camps this is part of our strategy set up little camps everywhere to have a good view of where the talibans are and get them in there tracks. the fighting is happening over there.

13 week basic training and if your going for infantry as a soldier its 17 weeks basic military soldier qualifactions ,, were you learn more in depth how to do manuevers and exacute proper tactics that is when your done basic .. you do this wih your designated regiment.

It happens sometimes, but often your CFAT, medical and interview will be on different dates, and depending on your situation it can take from only 1-2 months up to over a year, especially if you have something that trips up the medical, like an unconfirmed allergy...

Pretty stoked for the close quarters training seeing as how i have been doing karate for 8 years and ju-jitsu and muay thai for 4.
