i didn't see it happen , but two pilots on the aircraft carrier i was on never made it back . it may be belated , and who knows if anyone who was there will read this , but thank you man , we will always keep an eye out for the Jet that never made it home .
I've spent my 2 mins silence on Remembrance Sunday thinking about the boys from my school who didn't come back from the Falklands. Yesterday for the two minutes silence I thought about my friend out in Afghanistan leading his bomb disposal squad. 4 minutes of very big thoughts. Cheers, Lesley
Hello Lesley...It is so sad isn't it? They are all so young. Every war, so many young men and women. I would like them to know we remember and have not forgotten them.
Very moving, beautifully done video. God bless those who have fought and died in battle, protecting our precious freedoms. And God bless those who still live, and continue to do so.
Very moving Nancy...Here in Scotland we have a 2 minute silence at 11am...To remember Armistice Day...If only the guns could remain silent...Thank you for posting...Billy and Christine...
Here in the US, its Veteran's day and I always pause on this day to say special thanks, and prayers, for all who have served. This was such a wonderful video Nancy.
Great Video. I just watched a documentryy on the Discovery Channel. Where one of the only 3 british survivors, spoke of the war. He is 105 years old and had not spoken of the war until he was 100. He was sked if the lives were worth losing in the Big War. He said "not a single one". Also after the war, he never wanted to see another German again. But in 2004, he decided to meet a German Veteran. And they have become friends. He asks us to remember the Germans, not just our own. hugs - Phil
That sounds much like my grandfather was Phil. He wouldn't talk about the war. I don't think he ever got over the horror of what he saw. I don't believe any vet could or can.
Thank you so much Phil for sharing the story you saw on the Discovery Channel.
My dad would never speak of WWII. He did express concern over Vietnam protesters. I guess he couldn't conceive of a world where war would only be fought if necessary. Perhaps he was too decent and trusting. Never having known my Grandfathers, we didn't know anyone from WWI, but from all I've heard it was as bad or worse. Nancy, this was beautiful. Well done!
I think In Flanders Fields has to be one of my most favored poems and not just because it was written by a Canadian. I recall memorizing it in school..and I never ever forgot it.
Whenever I watch something like this I can't help but cry!! Tears of pride and of sorrow!! This is a beautiful tribute Nancy!! My Dad had a military funeral. As hard of a time as that was for me, I couldn't help but be filled with so much pride for the time he gave to our Country!!

Thank you Moomay.
My grandfather, an ambulance driver in WW1 in England, met my grandmother, a nurse there.
We called him 'Poppy'.
During WW11 my parents entertained the troops at bases across Canada and the U.S. as they prepared to leave.
Thank you for your heartfelt reply.
