I know; he drove a "HUGE energy guzzling machine" but -- as he wanted to make the impact that he DID make -- a lone bicycle wouldn't have done it (besides taking him about 6 weeks in the heat to get to DC). As someone astutely points out here, "if the technology hadnt been suppressed for decades" by guess who? the oil industry, he certainly would have been able to drive a far more energy-efficient vehicle. We ALL have work to do on this issue in many areas; IMHOP he was a hero. Thanks, David
@TheFringeBenefit I'm talking about reality here, not some fantasy of future tech. The reality is that we all need to start making better choices about our energy use. There need to be major lifestyle changes because tech is not going to solve our problems without serious conservation. This guy could have ridden on a train or a bus, but instead chose to drive a HUGE energy guzzling machine. Think about it.
@eli73vt That is a truism...its actually not fantasy technology have you checked out the movie "who killed the electric car?" its very real technology that has been developed, implemented and summarily undermined by industrial forces...the Bus exemplifies the state of our world and this is what he had to do to bring people with him. Choices made to conserve are important i agree with you there...Ive done the bulbs, recycle everything i can religiously, am mindfull of how much i consume...
@eli73vt ...also concerning hydro technology...developers of the past have mysteriously end up at the bottom of canyons or die in some mysterious way shortly after their technology is legitimized. Its now general knowledge that cannot be suppressed and its being used today: watch?v=Ftve5nGWUOc. ...I've been "green" in that sense since 2002 so i've done my fair share of changing my lifestyle... But things need to change in core and fundamental ways concerning Snake Oil Money influence.
Awareness here in ND...we have a different configuration of circumstances ....but yeah the time has come...this shit has got to stop...NO to pipelines...they are inferior technology...
Are you kidding me?!? You're driving a massive bus all over the place to protest oil recovery? You're just being part of the problem! Sell the bus and ride a bike.
@eli73vt if the technology hadnt been suppressed for decades he would have rode up in a hydrocell bus or some such other advancement....do some more searching before you go a lurching...
Kalamazoo, one of the tour stops, is my home town. Nothing like living in a town that's experienced a major oil spill into your river start picking up what these folks are laying down.

Confused man. He does not realize that Canadian Oil is ETHICAL OIL.
Canada has high environmental standards. Iran does not.
Canada has Gay pride parades. Iran stones Gays to death.
Without Canadian Oil the US will get CONFLICT OIL. Syria-Iran-Saudi Arabia.
Huge human rights issue. Google Ethical Oil
