  • orcs, goblins,.......in the old story the orcs were mad with elvish and goblin.....the mix you see.....goblins were born a race themselves but not made. i dont understand the whole deal with the goblins and orcs in the tolkien books.....but he went into great detail on almost everything he wrote

  • Some how the music and the animation fit so well together. Good job.

  • that is exactly the right formula my friend..

  • OH MY GOD! I must see this animation <3 I freaking love it!!

Awsome vid btw, thanks for sharing! ^_^

  • Go play Tibia everyone! Awesome video; Blind guardian goes with this video amazingly.. Whats the name of the video between?..

  • holy crap i havent seen or heard this song in ages. thanks for uploading :)

  • honor one who has past i say u get 75 bonus points for this vidio

  • Probably the best AMV I've seen yet in my opinion

  • Epic.

  • The cartoon movie isn't very epic by itself but this music just makes it seem even more awesome.

  • Mutated and tortured elves sorry.

And Uruk hai not hair lol. sorry everybody.

  • In LODR Orks are tortured and jutaded elves.

And Uruk Hair are man.ork fused together,

Sauman says this in the first film when you first see Lurtz and his crew being born from the spawning pits.

On the side of that, I had no idea this was a cartoon =D AND THE BOOK FOR THIS WAS AWESOM!

  • awesome

  • yeah just noticed my spelling wasnt paying attention and in the movies there is an easy difference

  • there is still a difference in them when you watch the fellowship goblins are the mind less ones in moria where the orcs are all working for salron and salroman

  • there is only a difference because of the habitats that they live in and its not salron or salromon its Sauron and Saruman.

  • In the old book there were Goblins in the newer book they're called Orcs.

    Orcs are Goblins, big Goblins.

You can read that also in the Silmarillion :D

  • You gain fifty awesome points for being Tolkien-educated.

  • ^2^

  • @kirkblackheart nice

  • @kirkblackheart Do I get fifty for being nearly fluent in Middle Earthen Elvish?

  • @4sostrander Sindarin or Quenya?

  • @4sostrander While you win massive amounts of awesome points, you dont get laid. Ever.

  • @4sostrander While you win massive amounts of awesome points, you dont get laid. Ever.

  • @mACKs94 Damn nice work

  • Why is everyone saying these are Orcs in the animated "The Hobbit"? I thought that they were suppose to be Goblins, so the fact that they didn't match the Peter Jackson Orcs makes sense to me. :/ dunno I may be wrong.

  • Your comment is quite strange. It is a movie about the story "The Hobbit". There are only orcs and no goblins mentionned in the book. Why should there be goblins in the movie then?

  • "Goblins - Evil creatures encountered by Bilbo and company in Chapter 4. Goblins are infamous for their ability to make cruel weapons and torture devices. " Goblins were part of the 5 armies at the end of the hobbit they came ridding on Wargs. Gandalf even beheaded the "Goblin king" when saved the dwarves before Bilbo got his ring, and in the movie they sung the "Goblin's Song". It wasn't until the trilogy that the the name Goblin was replaced by Orcs for some reason!

  • I thought orcs were upgraded goblins like how urak-hai are upgraded orcs.

  • the animated characters didnt fit for their imagination from the movie..

They told no objective critics to that movie, just they stupid subjective opinion which has no sense for others.

And problem is that many people are choosing the movie by these shity reviews.

  • Whew... never knew that there is a film/animation of the hobbit... I like it! I really like this figures and how they are painted. It's something different to the LotR movies and I think it's more like the Hobbit because its "softer" and more a film for kids than a film epos like LotR... I think it fits perfectly well or the parts which are shown in this vid ;) Would love to watch the whole film...

  • Most prople criticize these movies because they have a few songs in each film. People also don't like the way the Orcs and Goblins looked, though I thought it was origional.

  • Huh? What do you mean? Do they criticize the LotR movies or this animation? Anyways, I can't understand them :D I really love the LotR movies and this animation is just amazing! It's kind of soft and for children but I can see the meaning of tolkiens words in it ;) Well, the orcs look cool but I like the LotR orcs as well so I wont judge which ones are better xD

  • Well precisely it was this animated movie, which was criticized, from many of them for example by a person or better said user (reviewer)in czech movie database, whos comments people realy appreciate. Probably as they seen the Movie of Lotr so they just kept the image of all characters in the Movie film. And after that when they heard about the animated Hobbit and seen it

  • The hobbit is a great choice for this song. I love this movie. The animation is killer for being over 30 years old.

    Also.. Great AMV <3

  • a big F*** you to people who think that the image of the movie looks crap. They wouldnt be able to create it. The autor who made those drawings must have been a proficient artist to do such a great stylization to be digestible for children but not silly or amateurish acting characters and ambience.Soft colours adapted to light and shadow and to concrete situations to increase atmosphere. Also music plays here an important function. Sorry for my incorrect grammar btw.

  • I have to say, you sir kick ass, this movie was and still is one of my favourites!

  • I have watched it for the 15th time and I will still continue watching it, there is a magic in this animated movie and it moves through me.:))

  • It was a bit hard as Ive seen that movie for the first time to ignore the way of combat and killing(the one and only thing which was a matter), as killed enemies disappeared in a whirl. But its a realy small disadventage of the movie, the fact is so as

StueyLestrange noticed that this movie was created to be watchable for the cathegory of small children. This animated movie will never be antiquated... For its time is the best animated movie ever. The people who gave this unique piece average

  • The movie is one of the best Ive ever seen.. The image of the movie is a really good way of a compromise between a light stylization of characters and keeping of realistic proportions.. The way of speech and dialogues in metaphors and riddles is realy rare, not as in those shitty modern animated movies where the way of talk is bromidic. Songs fit smooth and are amplifying the atmosphere in concrete situations. This movie is concerning to the year of creations perfect, no PC processing.

  • i love hobbit book ^^

  • the name of the animation is the hobbit

  • Whats the name of the animation?

  • thats the hobbit old school style

  • My gran read me The Hobbit when I was little. I'm 20 and love this book!! Tolkien gave me the thirst for writing and wow he was a darn genius.

A great song, a great story, and a great video I say.

  • i prefer the video ^^

  • This movie is based on a tolkien 's story ?

  • y, named the Hobbit.. a beut history, actualy.. I prefer the book..

  • .... i cant take the story seriously when the characters look so... silly. forgive my saying, but it's just not right for the book (the animatioin, i mean) the song's great ^^

  • Actually, it fits pretty well with the book, which is a children's story before anything else. Being a seminal work, The Hobbit doesn't have to be arrogant and pretentious to affirm its originality, unlike Tolkien's late works and what came after them.

He himself said that, in many ways, he would rather have left the depths of his mythology unexplored to prevent it from being taken too seriously.

It's high time we had a paradigm shift in fantasy.

  • Indeed! Not that I dislike the high fantasy genre in any form or fashion, but it seems that too many authors these days are more concerned with making their world "unique" (with a new magic system, new races, strange locations, etc) than writing a good story.

  • strange i read a interview with him were he said he wished others would write stories set in middle earth as he wrote all this history and hoped it would be a massive world with tons of novels spanning all the ages and nations

  • Commenting on the apendixes to LotR3, Tolkien said that "he wished he'd never promised to write them" and that the people who saw the mystery surrounding Middle-Earth's ancient history as its most enticing characteristic were right in a way.

Telling a story too thoroughly takes away the feeling of infinite potential, which for me is a big part of any fantasy universe. It's one of the things that bug me about today's stories: they make a nearly Freudian analysis of the characters.

  • and to think it all tolkiens fault, the guy who hated the idea brought about his own genres downfall

  • WHAT MOVIE IS THIS WOW!!

    0_0

    comment me saying name please

  • It's The Hobbit from 1977.

  • Okay man, now is clear. Obviously this is my mistake for not reading the title so well. It is crossed my mind that you put the name of the song(actually two names)on the video, so that was the reason to make such a comment. I am sorry once again. In other hand the video you've made is quite well done.

  • No offense taken man. I'm glad you enjoyed it!

  • @kirkblackheart Exellent work

  • Great song, but there is a mistake. There are actually two songs, not one. The first one is The Bard's song - In The Forest, and the second one is The Bard's song - The Hobbit. Blind Guardian is my favorite band since 1992, so I need to be correct. Blind Guardian forever!!!

  • Okay, I know you guys are trying to help, but I want to clear this up once and for all. I know what the songs are. I am quite aware of the existence of two songs. Both are in this video. The reason The Hobbit is in the title is because the movie is The Hobbit. I put The Bard's Song because that is the group term of the two songs. I would have put each individual title on the video, but there is something called a character limit. I could not fit both titles.

  • really good video man..takes me back

  • Awesome stuff man. nice pic of you too mate, the real Raistlin is cooler though lol

  • Beautiful!

    You're cute too.

  • i think.. the last image is the best of this video xD

  • I can't say I agree, but thank you all the same! Flattered.

  • excellent work

  • As awesome as Peter Jacksons was, THIS is the ture from of fantasy. Jacksons was too humanized.

  • Aye, I agree. I'll take blue Austrian wood elves over a comic relief Gollum any day. ;)

  • Anyway, this is also the exact way, I've always imagined wood elves to be...

  • I agree. Gollum is supposed to be sinister and brooding. Although I WILL admit to laughing my ass off at Gollum's antics when I read The Two Towers. In The Hobbit, he's sinister as hell.

  • AMAZING!!!!!!!

  • the hobbit movie?????? need it!!!

  • f***** best video ever, in my opinion

  • It's both, but bene tellemara.

  • Though in fairness, The Hobbit does get neglected so often that it was not unreasonable to make an assumption there... but the 7+ minute video should have been a clue.

  • and who said that this is the bard's song - the hobbit? .. the hobbit is the name of the movie

  • which album are those two rockin tunes off of?

  • They are off of the album Somewhere Far Beyond, I believe.

  • you're right

  • whoever said it goes well with the song..

well that might be because the song was written about the book/movie.

  • WELL DONE!!!

  • Yes. And both are in this video -_-

  • idiot

  • This is one of the best videos I've ever seen on here. It goes with the song PERFECTLY.

    WONDERFUL!

  • My favorite animated movie also. Great AMV.

  • So beautiful!!!

  • Awesome!Simply awesome
