you might find this weird, but I play rugby at a team in mexico and I'm a fullback, and I'm looking for proffessional fullbacks to see what do they do to learn more, any advice?
a good fullback should make the tackle then straight away get up and turn into a flanker if he dosnt get the ball within 3 seconds he should straight away get out and return to his fullback postion
even though you are making the tackles, none of them are dominant, and you not getting back onto your feet and contending for the ball :/ something you've now worked on i'd presume ?
yeah you good an'all but abit cocky put all these videos of your self saying shit like " how a fullback should tackle " ,,, i mean .. ..c'mom how old are you? 15 ? why would some one copy you ??
For starters, there where quite a few tackles after the attacker had already passed the ball. In more than half of the others, the player was easily able to offload. You should get to your feet a little faster too or slow down the tackle so that your forwards can scramble and steal the ball because the attacking player is usually isolated, trying to be a hero. otherwise, pretty good defense.
only saw 1 tackle tackle wher i tackled when ball had gone. Taught 2 take the man with ball & if a 2 on 1 & no way 2 stop the pass then take him out & hopefully put him off to get a 4ward pass or knock on. Am learning 2 get 2 feet quicker m8 to slow ball down as this was taken about 2 year ago. Smallest player in team, had 3 broken clavicles & 2 broken shoulders & compressed vertabrae doing big hits & i hav just turned 17. am now learning 2 pick right time 4 the big hit. thks 4 advice m8, welcum
There were 3 I counted, and a couple another 3ish more offloads, but they were mainly from the same player I think so he's probably just really good at attacking play. As I said, it's still some very good defense. I would be more than happy to have a fullback that secure. Also, I'd like to see some more recent vids if you have any, and some attacking vids would be pretty cool too. np
I'm in the situation as you mate. I'm the smallest guy on my team and yet...i love tackling. Love it. They tried to make me play wing...but i soon got bored so they moved me to fullback and it was ok for a while but now i am playing at flanker. Might be wortha look into mate? Only thing is you will need to improve on your strengh in the tackles...i.e. knocking the guy back instead of using his momentum to take him over your shoulder.
what i meant to say most of his 'how' videos feature him tackling passively, allowing the run on, before hugging, instead of rushing up and levelling the attacker.
his tackling form is perfect copy book tackling. 5 stars.

honestly his technique sucks. his head goes straight into the attackers body. u wanna get your head to the side and go for the legs.

good tackles mate. there's nothing better than having a fullback who's solid in defence that everyone can rely on.
