  • Their best performance at pink pop next to alive

  • Chills.

  • It's nice to see how the wonderful bands like pearl jam sound almost the same in concerts as on the album, when the shit you hear on the radio (pop) goes live and it's an ear rape how out of tune they sing. I'm not saying it's all of them, because some have great voices and deserve to be famous.

  • Dear Eddie Vedder, please keep your nose and money out of any further legal proceedings dealing with convicted child killers so no more guily murderers can go free. Thank you.

  • Do you know what I would love to see? I would love to see the person this song's about's reaction to seeing this video. I somehow doubt she would be able to contain herself.

  • we are all thinking on somebody special in this moment...

  • dang

  • 'Melk de witte motor' at 0:10

  • Oh my god this is utter shit.

  • Can someone tell me the name of that Pearl Jam song where in the the lyrics are "where ya goin for tommorow, Where you're gonna with that mask, and I feel it......" something like that. Please!

  • @thegrunger49 The lyrics you are referring to are probably from the Stone Temple Pilots song 'Plush' from their first album called 'Core'.

  • @petestowne Thank you sooooo much! I've just check it and you were right. I've been searching for this song for a while but couldn't make out what the name of the song was. For some reason I thought it was by Pearl Jam. lol

  • I was also thinking about the spot where he looks up. That's why I don't think this song is about a woman but it's about his father. I love this song, and this video.

  • that howl at 4:07 is unbelievable

  • Eddie o Eddie :))

  • He sheds a tear at 4:25 because he looks up and see's God smiling down at him.

  • Someone asked if that was a tear at 4:25.

If you can't imagine the emotion that guy is going through on stage with -

the crowd, whatever relationship that song came from originally, and just doing the song with the guys..... it would be hard not to shed a tear of ecstasy and sadness for such a moments passing.

  • @popupmassacre2445 there is only two songs that make me cry bob marley woman no cry and this one black adn somehow i feel his pain

  • I watched the video in full screen and I just noticed, did Eddie had tears in his eyes on 4:24 ?

  • I type in black and I get a video with all white people -.-

  • I go crazy every fucking time I watch this video. And I must have watched this like a thousand times.

  • @chantellaraea1 cock choker, we all know what he wanted to say and only you needed to elaborate, you stupid fuck.

  • "Used to be mainstream music" is a disgusting understatement. Pearl Jam managed to pull themselves from the depths of scraping and begging to widespread thanks and praises through the value of nothing other than the value of their music. This is something truly beautiful... please do not label them as "mainstream". If anyone has held true to their roots while gaining unsolicited public affection... it is these men. Don't label a "sell out" if you don't know the meaning. Fuck you.

  • @chantellarae1 I don't think he meant it that way, calm down

  • @HorseKids You're probably right. I'll re-evaluate when I'm sober. For now I'll just allow myself to overreact to innocent statements. Cheers.

  • @chantellarae1 Their should be a million likes for this great comment. Absolutely agree with that!

  • I had chills while watching this.

  • from this video and looking at Eddie you can really tell he's never given a shit about money.

  • Over 25 million views, 54 thousand likes, and 11 hundred fags.

  • this exactly how i feel. Even though my girlfirend cheated on me. i still want her to be happy...

  • 0:26 KIM THAYILL

  • @GrungeMetalRocker And that's how you introduced me to Soundgarden.

  • @GrungeMetalRocker is it really? it could be just another pearl jam fan with a beard.

  • 3:22 Tattooed all I see... all that I am... Oral-BBBBBBBBBBBB YEAHHH

  • @Lucas6414 ( all that i'll be ) dumb ass

  • i really want to be the water bottle he drinks from at the beginning

  • O Lawdy, Lawdy...beautiful...love this song but seeing his face and body into it is breathtakingly memorizing.

  • It is sad that when I searched for this video the "black Eyed Peas" popped up when I typed in Black.

  • @EddieKuntz94 This is still the first unsponsored video to show up if you search Black.

  • id eat the Skittles out of Eddie's poop. i dont even like Skittles.

  • This is my shit!

  • dude @VEVOTroll i hit shift but it still worked!!! how neat!

  • Fuck Peal Jam they suck ass!! Eddie Vedder should but a bullet through his head like Kurt Cocain! HAHA

  • @justagirl123431 arent you suppose to be in the kitchen?

  • rock music only for educated people, rap and hip hop only for the ignorant.

  • I know that everyone has different opinions and different tastes in music, but I just don't see how this video can have even 1 DISLIKE. How can you listen to this and not be completely immersed in this brilliantly timed and harmonized rhythm?

  • So?

  • They dont make it like this anymore

  • @VEVOTroll dude stop saying this, this is retarded

  • @66ALicEiNCHaiNS06 You're just saying that because you hit like. You know you just got trolled Mr. 66ALicEiNCHaiNS06

  • @VEVOTroll but the whole point of top comments is actually needs to be relevant to the video -__-

  • @66ALicEiNCHaiNS06 How about you just hit the blunt and listen to Would? by Alice In Chains so you can hear some of Staley and Cantrell's awesome harmonies

  • @VEVOTroll way ahead of you bro lol i was jsut listening to It aint like that

  • @66ALicEiNCHaiNS06 haha nice. What cd is that song on? You should listen to We die young. Jerry's guitar playing is awesome

  • @VEVOTroll haha both are on the same album Facelift as well as Man in The Box, We die young is track number 1 it is awesome!!

  • @66ALicEiNCHaiNS06 haha sweet. man in the box was the song that got me into AIC but my favorite is deffinately Would. Rooster is also great, it's about Jerry's father fighting in the Vietnam war

  • @VEVOTroll yeah i know lol rooster and would are my favorites too both on the Dirt album

  • @66ALicEiNCHaiNS06 You should check out the song Hunger Strike by Temple of the Dog. They're a super-group made up of the members of Pearl Jam and Soundgarden. It's probably the best rock song of the 90's

  • @VEVOTroll yeah i know of it already i love hunger strike

  • @66ALicEiNCHaiNS06 Cornell and Vedder sound so good together. Soundgarden is pretty good. I'd have to say Outshined is my favorite song of theirs. And of course when you're talking about 90's rock you can't forget Nirvana. My favorites by them are drain you, come as you are, dumb, breed, something in the way, and about a girl

  • @VEVOTroll also love Nirvana, listening to Lithium right now and come as you are is my fav as well as In Bloom

  • @66ALicEiNCHaiNS06 Nice. The song that got me into Pearl Jam was Jeremy. But, Black is my favorite. I also like the Stone Temple Pilots. Alot of people say STP sounds alot like Pearl Jam but I don't agree with that at all. They sound like Alice In Chains more than anything. Mostly because Scott sounds like Layne. Some of my favorite STP songs are plush, wicked garden, creep, sex type thing, big empty

  • @VEVOTroll same here, even flow and jeremy are my favorite and STP is awesome, i saw them live, back in 2008, i could of saw them again last year but i couldnt, wish i did, love all there songs and yeah they dont sound like pearl jam at all, i think they sound more original than sounding anybody else, they're different from the grunge bands

  • @66ALicEiNCHaiNS06 I agree. I think the only reason STP got labled as grunge is becuase they got huge in the early 90's and pretty much anything rock back then was labled as grunge. They're more of a hard rock/alternative band. The same could be said about the Smashing Pumpkins. Grunge is probably my favorite rock genre. But, i'm a huge fan of metal also. Metallica is my favorite band. Their first 5 albums were great. And in my opinion Pantera saved metal in the 90's

  • @VEVOTroll haha yeah totally agree and no way me too im listening to metallica right now actually lol

  • @66ALicEiNCHaiNS06 haha awesome. You should check out the video for Harvester of Sorrow live in Moscow, Russia 1991. It's Metallica's best live performance

  • @VEVOTroll I saw the enter sandman one in Moscow its epic!!

  • @66ALicEiNCHaiNS06 Yeah I know. all of those videos in Moscow are great

  • @VEVOTroll hahaha wow niceee..

  • @VEVOTroll I pressed ALT and disliked, it was MORE than epic!

  • MOTHERFUCKER IS SMOKING A CIG WHILE PLAYING THE DRUMS. 1:14

  • @SeveralSeveredShins That cig is filled with marijuana sir so that's why I believe his drumming is so superb

  • Speechless

  • 0:38 That feeling he's feeling right there is why I play music. Any musician worth their salt will know what i'm talking about, that feeling where it's as if you're guts are about to come flying out your mouth and your hearts gonna burst out of your chest. right in the pocket. it's genuine and you can't fake it.

  • if i knew the 90s were going to be the good old days.....id have made a move or done something....shit

  • Great song, and one of the greatest live performances ever.

  • guys , when i listen this for the first time , i play and replay for 1000 times , is one of the best song's ever ,, this never get old is MASTERPIECE

  • Are you kidding me. That was live, That was live. Only band I have ever seen that steps up on stage and can record a song better live then in a room. I've seen them live a few times and they are always spot on. How is it possible. Ohh his voice live is literally better then the disc. Him and Maynard James are the only ones/ bands that can project live better then an album. Ive seen Corey Taylor and he was amazing but Eddie sounds that real, that spot on live. It is breath taking

  • @danielgsmith33 Coheed and cambrias better live in my opinion

  • I didnt know a perfect song existed.

  • 1096 don't know what is have a broken heart

  • i wish i could smoke while i drummed. hell, i wish i could drum period

  • Eddie Vedder is such a legend...

  • To everyone from my generation (1974). Show this to your children when they ask how the music was like when you grew up.

  • White

  • My daughters turned me on to these guys...glad they did!!

  • sempre q tô pra baixo, vejo este video, e é como se o mundo parasse e nada mais tivesse importancia a nao ser, sentir o son enbalando nossos sonhos!!!

  • sounds pretty close to recorded version which if live is pretty damm good...lol

  • heyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy... hell yeaaaaa...

  • they dont make music like this anymore... pearl jam is one of the greats

  • God....this used to be mainstream music

  • @gtralisfr69 fuck. *exhales* this was my life. ---Love his voice. so FUCKING good. omg ..right?!

  • is that kim thayil on the side of the stage?

  • I love this, but in my opinion nothing comes as close as the unplugged version, he just has soo much emotion in that one.

  • That "we belong together" goes straight through my fucking soul.

  • #PutaQuePariu Como eu sou apaixonada pelo seu trabalho e por quem você aparenta ser!

  • My friend's mom grabbed a demo tape from an MTV party before they got big. Her son had a pearl drum set so she thought it was relevant. He gave it to me. Thank you.

  • getting me through breakups since 98

  • No stats available for this video????? Here's a stat for you....Greatest fucking band in the world!!!!

  • You are right, Eddie Vedder.

    We DO belong together.

  • Pearl Jam reminds me of growing up and fishing with my father...<3

  • Love the drummer blazing a heater all throughout...

  • we are waiting for you here, in Istanbul. you are the best.

  • Epic performance of Pearl jam especially Eddie Vedder with all the emotions he puts in the song from the beginning till the end. One of the best bands in history imo,

  • What is amazing is that not only Vedder feels this song, the whole band is in the same tune, same vibe. Thats what makes it so special. Its not a one man show, it's the whole band. That why i love em!

  • BLOWTORCH PONIES!!!

  • Pearl Jam > everything else
