It's nice to see how the wonderful bands like pearl jam sound almost the same in concerts as on the album, when the shit you hear on the radio (pop) goes live and it's an ear rape how out of tune they sing. I'm not saying it's all of them, because some have great voices and deserve to be famous.
Dear Eddie Vedder, please keep your nose and money out of any further legal proceedings dealing with convicted child killers so no more guily murderers can go free. Thank you.
Do you know what I would love to see? I would love to see the person this song's about's reaction to seeing this video. I somehow doubt she would be able to contain herself.
This song, nutshell by Alice in chains, wake up by mad season (layne staley), and Melissa by the allman brothers band are prob some of the most beautiful lyrics ever written...
Can someone tell me the name of that Pearl Jam song where in the the lyrics are "where ya goin for tommorow, Where you're gonna with that mask, and I feel it......" something like that. Please!
@petestowne Thank you sooooo much! I've just check it and you were right. I've been searching for this song for a while but couldn't make out what the name of the song was. For some reason I thought it was by Pearl Jam. lol
I was also thinking about the spot where he looks up. That's why I don't think this song is about a woman but it's about his father. I love this song, and this video.
If you can't imagine the emotion that guy is going through on stage with -
the crowd, whatever relationship that song came from originally, and just doing the song with the guys..... it would be hard not to shed a tear of ecstasy and sadness for such a moments passing.
"Used to be mainstream music" is a disgusting understatement. Pearl Jam managed to pull themselves from the depths of scraping and begging to widespread thanks and praises through the value of nothing other than the value of their music. This is something truly beautiful... please do not label them as "mainstream". If anyone has held true to their roots while gaining unsolicited public affection... it is these men. Don't label a "sell out" if you don't know the meaning. Fuck you.
@justagirl123431 What you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone on Youtube is now dumber for having read it. I know that everyone has different opinions and different tastes in music, but I just don't see how this video can have even 1 DISLIKE. How can you listen to this and not be completely immersed in this brilliantly timed and harmonized rhythm?
@66ALicEiNCHaiNS06 How about you just hit the blunt and listen to Would? by Alice In Chains so you can hear some of Staley and Cantrell's awesome harmonies
@66ALicEiNCHaiNS06 haha sweet. man in the box was the song that got me into AIC but my favorite is deffinately Would. Rooster is also great, it's about Jerry's father fighting in the Vietnam war
@66ALicEiNCHaiNS06 You should check out the song Hunger Strike by Temple of the Dog. They're a super-group made up of the members of Pearl Jam and Soundgarden. It's probably the best rock song of the 90's
@66ALicEiNCHaiNS06 Cornell and Vedder sound so good together. Soundgarden is pretty good. I'd have to say Outshined is my favorite song of theirs. And of course when you're talking about 90's rock you can't forget Nirvana. My favorites by them are drain you, come as you are, dumb, breed, something in the way, and about a girl
@66ALicEiNCHaiNS06 Nice. The song that got me into Pearl Jam was Jeremy. But, Black is my favorite. I also like the Stone Temple Pilots. Alot of people say STP sounds alot like Pearl Jam but I don't agree with that at all. They sound like Alice In Chains more than anything. Mostly because Scott sounds like Layne. Some of my favorite STP songs are plush, wicked garden, creep, sex type thing, big empty
@VEVOTroll same here, even flow and jeremy are my favorite and STP is awesome, i saw them live, back in 2008, i could of saw them again last year but i couldnt, wish i did, love all there songs and yeah they dont sound like pearl jam at all, i think they sound more original than sounding anybody else, they're different from the grunge bands
@66ALicEiNCHaiNS06 I agree. I think the only reason STP got labled as grunge is becuase they got huge in the early 90's and pretty much anything rock back then was labled as grunge. They're more of a hard rock/alternative band. The same could be said about the Smashing Pumpkins. Grunge is probably my favorite rock genre. But, i'm a huge fan of metal also. Metallica is my favorite band. Their first 5 albums were great. And in my opinion Pantera saved metal in the 90's
@66ALicEiNCHaiNS06 haha awesome. You should check out the video for Harvester of Sorrow live in Moscow, Russia 1991. It's Metallica's best live performance
@MetalFanx2000 What you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. My friend's mom grabbed a demo tape from an MTV party before they got big. Her son had a pearl drum set so she thought it was relevant. He gave it to me. Thank you.
Epic performance of Pearl jam especially Eddie Vedder with all the emotions he puts in the song from the beginning till the end. One of the best bands in history imo,
What is amazing is that not only Vedder feels this song, the whole band is in the same tune, same vibe. Thats what makes it so special. Its not a one man show, it's the whole band. That why i love em!
