  • lol...super smash brothers aint shit compared to this...and this game is 19 year old :-O

  • I MISS THIS SO MUCH!!!

  • Best game on NES, I fucking loved fighting tigers with my brother in the end. They were hard like ass

  • Man that music RULES!!!!!!

  • I remember this gem used to have lots of fun with a friend.

  • пизда рулю

  • DOWNLOAD LINK FOR PC ? PLEASE

  • my friends and I still play the game...AWESOME lol..

  • Technos just astonish me. The amount of GENIALLITY they managed put in amazings games like this is just beyond my comprehesion. Fantastic video, thanks!.

  • let me see NES made those game this one and the one with footballl those 2 were the games of my life now is dota... i miss my nintendo

  • OMG this game is epic , i play like maniac in the past :D

  • AAAH FUCK SPAM CANNONBALL!!!!

  • Where can I download this game?

  • @daffer22

    Look it up in Coolrom.com

  • I'll never understand why they didn't release this outside of Japan. This game was ahead of its time and could have been huge or at least have a strong cult following. I mean look how popular SSB or Power Stone would become in the late 90's and 2000's, this was the 8-bit version of all of that.

  • I love this game, it's my childhood! The best NES game for me!

  • my passwords never work when i do it

  • Hmm, how do you pick a class? The game always assigns me as a martial artist.

  • @Zaners It's probably influenced by the character's name given. Maybe using a different name will give you a different character type. (I'm going to assume the name you usually use gives you a Judoka, which specialises in grappling.)

  • @KurisuBlaze Shows how long since I've played. Re-reading it, it's actually the punching-specialist that he's referring to. orz

  • @KurisuBlaze

Thanks man. It's been forever but I need to play this game again. God tier game it is.

  • there was a running game ..like that...can u tell me the game name? :D

  • @hillgeri I believe that it was called Crash 'n the boys... it has many other events in the game besides running.

  • @OmniscientWarrior hmm..not this especially..there was another.. waht i know, u need to run along a city,and u can pick up items,and u can hit the enemy..and oh,thee isn't only 1,like 3-4...and when a race ends,u often get a uhmm.. "map" and u need to kill the other one .:D

    **

sorry for the mistakes, I'm hungarian :S

  • @hillgeri no problem, your English is good enough for me to understand. Is it "River City Ransom" ? This game was also called "Street Gangs". If not, then I might end up listing all the games like this that I can find.

  • @OmniscientWarrior That's it !!! ig Thank for you man! Thanks a lot! :D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D

  • @hillgeri Now for the punch line. I have never played either one of the games I have mentioned. But you are welcome.

  • Nekketsu is the best NES game serie ever!! I luv every single game they made.. I have beaten them all!!

  • You can find this ROM at Vimms Lair under the name RikiKunio, you can also play the game on Coolroms Forums in the NESCAFE

  • I Love it G A M E)))

  • Your character's name is Rarihyo and "Mike" is Hinuyama if my old Japanese is still in me.

Regardless, this game is awesome with 3 other people. Hopefully someone figures out a way to effectively allow 4 player action.

  • I loved how this game was so ahead of its time:

A fighting game that allows up to four players to play at once, had interactive 3-Dimensional fields that allowed players to take advantage of hazards and involved a more simplistic, none-combo based combat system.

Sounds like the basic gameplay of Super Smash Bros!

Too bad we never got it in America.

  • omfg i so loved this games, especially this, soccer and hockey one, freakin awesome and so fun to play with all moves and supers xD

  • great game from Technōs Japan ;D i like play this game

  • This shit looks Bananas...After river city i did not know this existed of than crash.

OMG new animations and moves. Im, about to faint.

  • Mike is a beast. I'm playing this game right now (translated of course) and Mike owns. He's the hardest of the characters in rumble mode in my opinion...

  • place nr 5 is my favorite ;D and this music ;p

  • Riki,my favourite one

  • one of the best pegasus play.

  • This looks great.

Early party fighter (assuming there's multiplayer), eh?

  • is there 2 player multiplayer?

  • Can anybody explain me how to do the special moves?

  • It depends mostly on the character birthdate. That determines which moves you have. Some moves require punching, some kicking, some can only be done in the air, and some require dashing or grappling. If you can't read Japanese, you should be able to find an FAQ somewhere.

  • I have this game fully in english...im fighting the tiger coupe, but i cant kill them

  • Wow this game's looks hard to me. XD

BTW it has the same sound effects just like double dragon. I wonder what company who made this?

  • Same one, Technos Japan.

  • @topazshot88 O.o .You and your partner must hug each other . Then you must press a button when the parameter in the red line . Then you and your partner will perform a special moves.

Kunio and the gang (first line) : Absolute Zero

Riki and the gang : Lightning Tornado

Third line (karate costume) : Wind Blade

Fourth line (judo costume) : Fire Storm

If your Level is highest, your special moves will have a better effect

Sorry for my english is still worse, because i am from indonesia not america...

  • @Titolin86 some special moves are done after hit the ground from a jump...it's about timing, just exactly when you hit the ground these are the moves like roling ball.....there are many others like this but this moves are done if your caracter has this ability, it's all about caracter birthday.......special moves are mentioned on left side on caracter's stats and his power, speed, defence, etc in the left side.....there are like 10 special moves in the game, but a caracter can have 3 max

  • @Titolin86 12 years ago i would now to teach u some moves now is to late .... for me and for my nintendo..

  • ahhh, the good old days!

  • Are there a basketball pair in this game?

I think they could teleport or something like that.

They were bald. Is it in that game?

  • hell yeah! mah favorite gaem! played it about 2 years 5 till 7 yo (then i got a pc)

  • HELL YEAHHhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • THIS IS MY FAVORITE GAME IN NES WHEN I WAS A KID. I WAKE UP IN THE EVENING (SECRETLY) to play this game. i play this game for 4 years. when i was 5years up to 9 years old.

  • Yeah, this was one of my favorite games also, it was the best and most original games at the time, and the other 3 games in the series were also my favorites (football, hockey and sports)

  • totaly agree, this games were freakin awesome, still are, oldies in collection

  • damn this nekketsu installment is full of bugs...the characters would disappear at waist level..

  • loved this game!!! forgot the name bt thanks 2 utube... i remember now!!!

  • virtuanes097e (you can find it on google) + the english ROM (google).

  • The one you call mike is "Himuyama"

  • Not Himuyama, Himeyama!

  • skąd ją ściągnąć odp plis

  • one of my fav nes games. i just love it :x

today @ the office I was browsing some old nes games list on wikipedia and found riverside rescue wich has the same characters. So I rememberd this game but didn't know the name of it. some quik investigations on youtube and bingo!!! In conclusion we should all be gretfull for Youtube as .. maybe... much of our childhood memories whould remain only to that.

  • I'm sure the character decribes what topaz does in his free time; practice his martial art skills againest noobs for fun. :p

  • Best ever games.

  • z kad ja sciagnoles???

  • Mam tesz tą gre ale po polsku z napisami :):)

  • i have an english version of this game

  • How can I get that?

  • Google -> NES ROMS and search the eng version , then use and NES emulator.

  • where did u get the english version

  • if i remember exactly, i found it on coolrom

    search with google

  • One of the best NES games ever, I fuckin love it!

Would want to get my hands into a NES original cartdrige but it costs like 45 dollars xD

  • ohh i played this game sooo much...

i figured out that the name letters afflicts stats of the harakter :) a made a list withc letter what gives maybe i still have it somewhere ^_^

  • Mam tą gierkę :) ale muszę napisać, że ten koleś jest cienki :p

  • god... i loved this game so much when i was small!!!... such good times...

  • I love the stage with the electricity. My strategy was throwing others into those walls =)

  • sorry, for triple comment, you make "jo" with "ji" and lower case "yo"

  • oh, and the fourth character's name is Himeyama.

  • lol, your character's name is "Uriheyo".

note, you can put lower case "yo" only after kana from the "i" column (ki, gi, shi, chi, ji, ni, hi, bi, pi, mi, ri to make kyo, gyo, sho, cho, ji, nyo, hyo, byo, pyo, myo and ryo)

  • What's coincidental about this is how it makes sense of itself in Korean.

    우리해요 - "We do"

  • Wow...this is such awesome music. They're as catchy as most of the NES Megaman series' music.

  • omgl...nostalgia

  • Kunio's games ar best

am using fceu-0.98.10.win to play NES games ;p

  • where can i dl this game?

  • Ah, my favorite game on the Famicom/NES.

It's too bad you got stuck with the Judo character, I think they're the hardest class to use or something.. Or maybe it's just me. xD

Personally, I like using the one that Riki is, I think it's like 'Martial Artist' or something. Looks more like a street brawler to me. ^w^

Anyhow, it's good to know that other people out there appreciate an amazing 8-bit game as much as I do.

    ~ Zero

  • one of my favourite all nes games!!!!

techno rulled the 80's and the begging of the 90's!

  • I just found out about this game a few weeks ago, as well as the other Japanese Kunio-kun games like Basketball and that awesome marathon one. Now I want them all on my NES so my friends can play them 4 player. Even if I have to spend loads on Ebay to get a Famicom converter and imports, I MUST HAVE THEM!

Thanks for the video, these games really need to be known about in the west.

  • y guis should try that in online with otheres its so fun

  • hey, get toraji and toraichi's level 32....

  • Wow, 4-Player free-for-all fighting before Nintendo & HAL Laboratory's Super Smash Bros. was even thought of.

  • I tried fooling with netplay once too. Couldn't quite get it. Although one time I got ZSNES to run perfectly with some help.

As far as the NES goes I wouldn't know!

  • Also, if you knew a method of online play I'd love to fight you =)

  • I'm aware that there's Netplay on some NES emulators, but I can't get Netplay to work for ZSNES and I probably will fail to get it to work in the case of Nekketsu Kakutou Densetsu.

  • Get Nestopia, It has up to 4 player online play, I play this all the time online.

  • This game is definitely one of the best brawlers for the NES. Too bad it wasn't released in America.

Oh, and courtesy of gamefaqs I remember all the character names. They are listed below in order that you see them on the character selection screen.

    Kunio, Shibata, Ishiduki, Yamaishi

    Riki, Ebihara, Mashiba, Jinnai

    Himeyama, Raidou, Aoi, Anzawa

    Midou, Fujikura, Suga, Ookumi

Then I'm sure you knew the tigers are called Toraichi and Toraji.

  • LOL, my faviour kunio game

  • As far as I can tell:

1p is something like "rakuhe" and then a fourth character I can't make out. 4p is something like "hinoyama". My kana skills fail, but that might help somehow.

  • I see. Thanks for the translation.

I probably should try to find a kana chart to figure out a name that doesn't end up being a version of "AAAAAAAA" to Japanese...

  • nice job 5 stars

    whofla

  • Hmmm. Looks pretty interesting. How in-depth-ly are you able to create a character? Can you choose his moves/clothing?

  • You can name your character, give them a birthdate, and give them a blood type. The name determines their class (on the English version, my real name is a Street Fighter, while my YouTube moniker shortened is a Judo Fighter), the birthdate determines compatibility with partners in story mode, and the blood type determines stat focus, I think.
