does anyone know a good way to start with Flames of War? I've been looking into it for a while know and I must say I am defiantly hyped up about it! I'm thinking of starting a club at my school or something and making a big battlefield and a room where people can come and have fun playing this game it really seems like a lot of fun!

@EdDator227 48 Shermans at half range for them, whatever that may be. We tried to work it out based on the equivalent points for the North Africa book, where a full tiger platoon is 1540 points + 200 and something for the commander. That same number of points buys 48 American Shermans (can't remember model)

@EdDator227 My SS Heavy Panzers are pretty much all I play with. 4 Tigers, Michael Wittmann, some Panzer Lehr Panzergrenadiers and some small add-ons is prefect for me. Tigers are very effective, put if you want a similar punch with slightly lower range, I would recommend getting a couple of Panthers.

my only problem with the bag is that high angle models (British 5.5" guns) dont fit and get crushed, and my Bofors AA guns are not looking to healthy either!!

But what do I know, I own three of the damn things!

Of course I have. The issue remains, the slot is not tall enough to accomodate large base on its side or the high angle of the weapons on the model.

What! More slots for tigers than shermans?!? That's ridiculous! My gurads armoured division won't fit into that case, and I son't want to spend $150 AUD on a case and then have to buy more trays for the thing! Lame!

bought the magnetic bases for my FoW US Para force, then went out and bought an old .50 cal ammo box.  Going to tournaments is so simple. Don't even need a display case; just throw em on the side and let the judges see.

not bad, definitely overpriced. I also prefer that the extra foam be still in there so that the gaps that aren't filled have foam instead of looking empty. So much easier to know that you have packed away all your minis when all slots are full

Well mate, to be fair alot of their stuff is overpriced. I'm sorry to say, but I refuse to buy anymore of their books when I can usually find them for download now. The books are great, but I'm pretty poor and so is the quality of the binding. I can't afford $30-$40 for a book with crappy binding. It's cheaper for me to just download them and print them. For $40 worth of ink cartridges I can print out roughly four or five books put the pages in sleeves and make master copy with a nice big binder

Damn right, although I love how some people have decided to mark down my previous statement because I pointed out a fact. I love Battlefront. They have awesome customer service, they replace broken parts for free by just sending you a whole new pack, but the binding on their books is shit. It will always be shit and always was shit.
