  • I was fortunate to meet MR Buck a couple of times. He posed for a picture with me at Busch Stadium. The next year I took the picture back and he autographed it. It s one of my most prized possessions. My grandfather and father listened to Mr Buck for many years.

I listened to him growing up on my transistor radio. R I P Jack.

    "GO CRAZY FOLKS, GO CRAZY!"

  • I MISS U MR. JACK BUCK YOU WILL ALWAYS BE THE GREATEST CARDINALS FAN

  • How much was Harry drinking while Jack took over the game? :-)

  • June 8, 1962

    SF at STL

  • @MonticelloMark

    Cardinals 8, Giants 4

    Gibson: 6.1 IP 9 H 4 ER 1 BB 6 SO 2 HR W (7-4)

    Marichal: 4.2 IP 10 H 6 ER 1 BB 4 SO 2 HR L (8-4)

    HR's: K. Boyer (8), B. White (10), W. Mays (20), F. Alou (13)

Cardinals would improve to 28-24, Giants would lose and fall to 40-18.

Figured you'd might want more info on the game. It was a good one.

  • @JustinVerlander35

Great info and great history. Thanks.

  • That's Harry Caray at the beginning of the clip.

  • No one better. EVER!

Jack Buck and Mike Shannon will be standing to the left and right of God when we get to Heaven. Of course Jesus will be there as well, squeezed in between them, but he'll be busy tuning in his AM radio to KMOX trying to find the Cards game.

  • THE GREATEST. Mr. Buck....

  • Jack Buck's voice reminds me of the good days when I was a child living in StL. I loved hearing his play by plays when I lived in Cleveland and New Jersey. He made me feel at home no matter what city I lived in. He & my wonder father, Ernest R Griggs, made me love CARDINAL Baseball, then my late husband Mike and I loved it too. Our last date was at Bush Stadium in 93. I have wonderful memories of these 3 men. Thnx Jack for having a voice that makes me feel warm & like a little girl again.

  • Beautiful.

  • Jack was the best!
