I have this same model Jackson...it's their lower end Dinky but, if you can play, you can still get some great sounding stuff. I'm sure I'm way older than you are and I still can't play like that! lol
this is a nice guitar, because you have a whammy bar without any stringlock on the neck so its easy to change strings and tune your guitar compared to guitars with tunelockers on the neck.
Personally I would rather buy a Schecter Demon instead of this guitar where you get seymoure duncan active pickups on the guitar . They are better than Jacksons standard. Atleast if you are playing metal and like the sound of EMG and other active pickups
nice dude.i like the part when u were playing whats this life for by creed..since u have the tremolo,i recommend if u would play Metalingus by alter bridge.pretty simple song.
i have this guitar the tone is pretty awsome, but atm its my amp thats letting me down, i need to purchase a new one from somewhere lol. well actually money helps first.
Dude I got a really great amp for $199. It's got two 10 inch speakers in it and 99 effects and comes with a foot pedal to toggle effect and channels. It's a Behringer GMX 210. It's a really great amp after you get it dialed in to your preferences.
ah thanks man, i will probably have a look at that amp when i have the time. atm i am looking into purchasing this randall amp, for only £80 pound im not complaning as it is a limeted edition n stuff.
thanks again for the advice, sounds like a good amp.
I promise you it's a great amp. Takes some time to sift through everything and get it how you want it to sound but it is underpriced in my opinion. If you plan on checking it out let me kno and I'll send you my settings. I have a vid on my channel you can watch.
okay then man it sounds pretty awsome, i will check out that vid. atm i just need to build up a bit more cash but soon hopefully i will have it or sumin.
does it have seymour duncans or duncan designs? I'm in the process of putting some dimarzios in mine. Other than the cheap pickups, I can't complain about my jackson. I have a LP classic w/ alnice II's and I prefer to play my jackson. The overall feel is better, and maybe the floyd rose.
I have to disagree I own a JS23 and a DK2 they play almost identically. If anything the DK2 is more difficult to play because of the licensed Floyd Rose. I've always found Floyd's to be a little clunkly
I consider this a versatile guitar... however the humbucker may sound a little too agressive if you're playing it with distortion. The single coils work just fine, though.

how is the action on this one? I noticed the clean sound didn't seem to resonate that well with certain notes.

your pickups may be loose, and check if your neck is straight, if it is, then try lifting the bridge a bit

whats the name of one song your playing?? great playing!!!
kirkhammett1992 3 years ago
Thanks!
The second song? Not really a song... just improvising.
Maybe it was the fact tha I plugged the pedal directly into the input of the sound board. Guess there's less noise from the amp that way...
