The Wayne State University Mission

Those rankings from the US world news and world report such as TIER ONE, or TWO, THREE are debatable. Those rankings are based on the prestige of the institution and have nothing to do with quilaity of education. I graduated from Wayne State myself and I can say that sure it doesnt match up to what University of Michigan and Michigan State have to offer, it is a highly underrated University.

I think a lot of people dont understand that Wayne State's mission is different from a lot of universities out there. WSU admitting students from lower socio-economic statuses and people who didnt necessarily do well in high school like myself. WSU believes that both of those types of students deserve a chance at a high quality education. I do agree that there some students who really dont belong in college, but Wayne State is not ghetto

WSU is a tier THREE university according to US News and World Report. U of M and MSU are Tier ONE. Think of that when you are paying tuition. What are you paying for and are you REALLY saving ANY money money by going to WSU? You might as well go to a community college for two years and save for one of the big two for junior and senior year.

Its the mission of the Professors at Wayne State to Fail as many students, that's how they make their money.

They are a bunch of sadist, monsters. You learn from your own mistakes, & if you seek any help, all you hear is the rustling sound of the leaves. You are entirely on your OWN, & God Forbid, making a mistake (Learning) is NOT tolerated at Nazi WSU. If you are lucky & haven't made a mistake of joining WSU, Dont EVER make that mistake, I've got 1 year left, hopefully, & will be out

Wayne State stinks because of the attitude of its Professors and not because of its students.

The students are always the poor under dogs, without any say in anythings. Its the faculty and staff that have made Wayne State so pathetic. They are extremely selfish, and will give you a million excuses to avoid their responsibility to teach and correct a student when they make a mistake. Instead they will jump on the opportunity to FAIL a person, and feel glad about it.

Well, when I was looking for further education abroad, I considered lots of factors before narrowing down to Wayne State University, and its been close to 10 months at Wayne, and it has stood to my expectations.The courses, campus life, activities, etc. here are very good. I'd recommend this University to all the students who want to pursue higher education.

WSU is a college of opportunity like no other that I have toured. I am a displaced auto worker that needed a school that was willing to accommodate my schedule to work full time and to raise a family as well as re-educate myself. WSU offered course schedules and small class sizes in order for me to be able to interact with professors on a one on one basis. I am a senior in the College of Engineering and will graduate with my BSEE and key to my future at age 36. Thank You WSU, I am a WARRIOR!

Wayne State University is an awesome school! It is urban, like they said in the video, but it is also very diverse and there are always new people to meet and learn about. You all are obviously disgruntled students looking to give WSU a bad name just because things didn't go the way you wanted them to. But hey, we all have our opinions, FACT is WSU is an excellent school with excellent programs and excellent professors.

I agree with you 100%. All of my professors so far have been helpful, willing, and always available for me and my needs. I am a non-traditional student that had been away from the classroom for 15 years before returning and I have everything great to say about the support that I feel from WSU's faculty and staff. This is a great place to learn.

I have experienced no such thing while spending my 3 1/2 years so far commuting and attending WSU. It is a great school and the urban environment is refreshing to say the least.

WSU sucks, specially its College of Nursing. All the staff are like Hitler. They curriculum is haphazardously organized, professors are ruthless and look to weed you out. I am not a drop, not yet.. LoL... But am a senior and looking to get the heck away from WSU - I CAN'T STAND IT ANYMORE..

I can't speak of the College of Nursing but I will say that based on the economy and the state of the State all programs are in search of serious students. "Weeding out" is another word for challenging and if a college isn't willing to challenge its students then a degree there would be worthless. Colleges are not in the business of giving out degrees they are institutions that offer education. I am sorry that you feel this way about the program and I hope you are able to change your mind.
