  • St. Stephen's Cathedral as in Stephansdom in Vienna?

  • This is great dramatisation! Thanks a million for uploading!

  • Thank you so much for posting Humphrey Burton's wonderful introduction to Mozart's Requiem. I have long admired your YouTube channel and it's excellent job at helping to educate people about the great composers (I was formerly 'hatemusic'!). I hope you don't mind but I have borrowed a short section of your beautiful video of Mozart's family graves to accompany a recording I posted of Mozart's Ave Verum Corpus. Please continue to selflessly inspire and educate others with your passion for music.

  • What is the music playing through this video?

  • Eggs101, Mozart's Requiem. Just type that in the you tube search field to hear it. I will eventually post the whole Requiem. I believe Mozart was either 7 or 9 when he wrote his first

Requiem. Can you imagine, a child composing a Requiem? Spooky!

  • Ah, forgive my ignorance I only thought he wrote one Requiem Mass, his last piece. That is indeed spooky. Do you happen to know the k# of this piece? Also much appreciated you posting these videos.

  • Eggs101, it's k#626. The first Requiem is k# is 66. Obviously, Mozart loved composing Requiem's.

He composed 18 in his short 35 years her on earth.

  • So the music in the video is the one from k.626? I can't say I'm familiar with it even though I've listened to the whole Requiem many times. What movement is it?

  • @LVB1770 : Just a small detail. He composed 18 Masses, but only 1 Requiem Mass.

The generic Mass (Missa Brevis, Solemnis) share some parts with the Requiem Mass (for example, the Kyrie), but other parts are unique to the Requiem (e.g. the Requiem aeternam section, or the Dies Irae).

  • This is the Masonic Funeral Music, K.477

  • yes that is exactly what it is. Thankyou.

  • cool music

  • Thank you for this video!

  • Very, very nice! Thank you for posting this!

I know this sounds 'pushy' but just in case you have, and can, would you please upload the rest of the movie? :)

I would love to hear the Requiem in St Stephen Cathedral!

    Anyhow, wonderful, thanks again!

  • Dear anneyre, I will post it soon, Thanks.
