I read that the trailer you are watching is for a Russian remake which comes out around 09 based off the 1967 movie and the book.
I can't wait for this film even though I am dissapointed with the hollywood influence in it-someone pointed out somewhere that the witch looks like a Ring/Grudge hybrid and I have to agree.

and in the book she's described pretty much like that
just cuz she twists and twiches doesn't mean she's a copy of ring/grudge girl, if anything the ring/grudge girl is a copy of original Viy witch with some advanced motion graphics
I dont agree, if you watch the original, this remake pretty much stands true to it. Due to the lack of special effects though the other movie is not as impressive and much slower kinda lumbering along. Now a days people need fast paced action, thats what they tried to do in this one. They going for shock factor instead of deepness that the first one had. I think its a different vision and will be fun to watch and compare to the original. USA gonna make one also I hear.
