Nah, there's a load of good "core" (although I'd never dream of throwing proper hardcore punk, grind and crossover in with the "core" tag usually associated with more chuggah-chugging kinda stuff, but moving on). I also acknowledge that the 'palm isn't for everyone, but their last few albums have had a nice mix of death and grind....you can hardly call their 2000s output as "non -stop blasting"

Neither of the 2 bands featured in the 2002 Kerrang! (Strapping Young Lad, Napalm Death) were that popular AT ALL at the time it was written.
It's not an arguement against featuring new bands, rather only featuring the MOST POPULAR of new bands, basically putting it a notch below an issue of "smash hits" in terms of relevance to the alternative community....

Metal Hammers just as bad (if not occasionally worse) than Kerrang! and Terrorizer is pretty good, but I listen to more than extreme metal so it's pretty limited appeal.
Maybe Avenged doesn't suck..? The singing is good, the playing is good, and the song-writing is good. If you don't like it, then maybe it's not your cup of tea. There are bands out there that have better singers, guitar players, etc... but if the music is boring or sounds shitty, then what's the point(I'm looking at all the death metal bands here). if you liv in the UK and have access to Kerrang! Radio, have a time to listen to it. Its got even worse, 90% of the shit they play is indie, and you can only hear basic mainstream metal like bullet at 1am once a week

Yeah, Kerrang! sucks. And because they said you should like it and make it all cool and hip then you do, because if you don't then you're lame. But that's what they said. if you want us to respect your music then you should start off by respecting ours, like most of us actually do, to put this into perspective, i have been to a mayhem gig, i have also been to an avenged sevenfold gig, i prefered the mayhem gig but enjoyed the A7X gig despite not being that big of a fan of metalcore/emocore

2. a7x have documented footage from years ago about them trying different stuff on newer albums. so they didnt sell out. they did what they wanted and people happened to like it.
