I totaly understand you and feel your pain. There was no genuine heartfelt love in my congregation either, it was so false and cold. I think it was very commendable and courageous that you admitted your sin that was obviously bothering your conscience, It says alot about you so just ignore all those people posting hurtful comments, they should be ashamed and could learn a lesson from you on how to be an honest, humble, genuine, loving person. I'll be praying that your family wake up. Stay strong
In this regard, Galatians 6:7,8 says " Do not be misled:God is not one to be mocked. For whatever a man is sowing, this he will also reap; because he who is sowing with a view to his flesh will reap corruption from his flesh, but he who is sowing with a view to the spirit will reap everlasting life from the spirit." By the way you don`t have to give up, you still have time to come back to remain in Jehovah`s refugee.
If your conscious tells you that you felt wrong about doing what the bible tells you, then you should bear in mind that you are against God. Because what is written in the bible is not from the Witnesses instead is from God. you left not the witnesses instead you just left God because you didn`t want to listen to him.
Good for you, Laura from Michigan! JW's really mess people up... disfellowshipping goes against the teachings of the scriptures. Goes against Gal 5:14. Judgement is for YHWH alone, not church 'elders'. You are awesome! Stay strong!
I wish I was raised by Jehovahs wittnesses you luck girl, I grew up on the Streets OF East Hastings Vancouver BC, I was abused sexually, sold for drugs, stabbed, hurt, tortured and left for dead many times.... so I think you are making a mistake.
@GerrettJihad Me personally I have seen the Darkest Side that this World Has to offer, now studying to become a Jehovahs Wittness, I am Happy and I never thought My life could be so Fufilling, the World may seem a happy place when you live but remember those Short term Gratifications will get shorter and shorter, then all you will have is Emptyness... If I was to leave Jehovah I would be Sucked away into sin.. because I know whats out thier and its nothing good! Please Repent and Be re instated,
@GerrettJihad untill you secure within YOURSELF your OWN moral compass, which you have lovingly cared for so that it is strong and stable, you will ALWAYS be at risk of being sucked away into sin, whether you are a jw, a Buddhist, or anything else. Religion is NOT the answer. SPIRITUALITY is.... peace and love to you...
@GerrettJihad you can not fault watchtower for the high morals they attempt to inspire in all people. you can fault them for continuing to lie about 607 BCE because without 607 BCE, they would not have been "chosen by Jesus" in 1914 CE. No WATCHTOWER ARTICLE has ever quoted any secular source to support the 607 BCE BECAUSE THERE IS NONE.
@GerrettJihad well, I was abused sexually from the time I was two years old until I developed language skills. The Watchtower showed my older brother how to do it in a 1973 Watchtower. So I think your judgement of situations you know nothing about is a mistake. btw...I was also hurt, tortured, and left for dead. (no stabbings...yet)
How the fuck did I end up here? I was looking for Comical stuff. If you believe the shit that comes out of their lying mouths you deserve what you get, that silly cult are trashy swamp dwelling liars I cant believe people listen to their boring, fabricated homosexual lies, all the men are faggots. I cant stand them and when they knock my door again Im gonna invite them in, jerk off and give them a salty blast in their lying faces.
Jesus said in Matthew 10:34-37 that there would be a division between families and friends. Fornication is, whether we want to believe it or not a serious sin, which results in serious consequences. (Galatians 5:19) But those who openly confess will be shown mercy. (1 john 1:9) So if you had openly confessed your sin to the elders they wouldn't dis-fellowshipped you. Gods words is for a protection and everyone has a personal choice whether they want to observe his commandments or not
Laurasandeastman, You are very smart and well spoken. I want to affirm you on your journey and let you know that i am praying for you. I don't have any answers for you only support in spirit. God bless you on your journey and stay strong, my friend.
I feel much compassion for you Laura, and I'm glad you left the Watchtower because it is a cult. However, Jesus is God and He wants to have a personal relationship with you. You won't be fulfilled in religious practices... Please I encourage you to seek the Lord personally for yourself, and not blindly follow what any organization or church tells you. When I got saved it was a supernatural experience, and I continue to feel God's overflowing love and presence even to this day.
@PropheticVindicator You're in a cult too retard. All of Christianity is the cult of the magic impossible imaginary Jesus. Knowledge gives us the power to make the Christian mythologies leave our imaginations. None of it is true just like all religion is a false magic lie for the uninformed to believe in.
@PropheticVindicator Jesus prayed to his father as we read in John 17:3: " This means everlasting life, their taking in knowledge of you, the only true God, and of the one whom you sent forth, Jesus Christ."
@PropheticVindicator I don`t really understand why people want Jesus to be God while he never claimed to be God. Actually it is obvious if one has not yet the knowledge of the bible but those who were once tested the truth and denying it for the sake of nothing. It is just destruction ahead of them.
Religion shouldn't make sense. It will never make sense because there is no sense in religion. When people wake up and step away from religion, they begin to rely less on fairy tales and rely more on reason and logic, and that's when things begin to make sense. (just my opinion, of course.) PEACE
I believe there are a lot of extremely unhappy people among the ranks of JWs. In fact I read somewhere that the suicide rate is much higher among them than the general public. Propagandatechniques probably knows much more about it than I do do. He may have made a vid about it -- I'm not sure. Send him a message for more information. Anyway, I'm glad that you're out and you're doing well. Keep up the great work. Peace. =)
Wow I couldn't read all the comments because too much, but I'm pretty sure evryone In here has had exepriences with JW, yea they cake to my house today for family bible study, but, it's all greatly presssured on you, I was on Facebook with iPod when they came lol.
I cannot believe the comments I'm seeing! Each and every JW I ever knew - even myself and my parents - were violated in just this way! I cannot see the JWs as honest people anymore because I see the STARK difference between honesty and sincerity. Honesty in all things is made all the more difficult when we can most easily lie to ourselves. Sincerity is wanting to do good, to help others in the best way we know how. One can be sincere and yet be working from a dishonest perspective. VERY human!
I TOTALLY understand what you are saying. I've been gone for 11 years and am so happy I am out. It all takes time to heal. It will always be with us. The experience has made us what we are today. I am glad we had the courage...the courage to break free from the fear....
What's wrong with you people you are supposed to encourage them when they are down not agree. Besides people make mistakes and that is all we are so we still make plenty. Trust me I know how bad we can be cause I made mistakes myself plenty BUT I saw the mistakes others made instead of my own now that I see my own mistakes I'm more cautious of my actions. But that took years for me to do and for most of us it WILL take years. So try to wake up cause the hour is near and this is NOT the time to
Laura, Thank you for honestly sharing your story . I KNOW what you are saying and I understand what you are feeling. I too was raised up as a JW . It took until I was 44 to realize why my spirit was always so weighed down and sad .The mental and emotional turmoil this religion causes takes years to heal . For my own sanity and happiness I walked away ....that was almost six yrs ago .It was the best decision of my life .
@WomboDK (g81 1/22 p. 17) "[P]ublic trials helped influence the judges toward carefulness and justice, qualities that sometimes vanish in secret star-chamber hearings. What about witnesses?
Witnesses in Bible times were required to testify publicly. For this reason they were warned not to be influenced in their testimony by the pressure of public opinion “so as to turn aside with the crowd in order to pervert justice.”
Compare that with a "judicial committee meeting" and the trial of Christ.

@Revolt1680 I appreciate the way you put it. I was flustered because I did not understand why someone could leave something that I felt was so great. Many call us a cult, but we are not. All of our literature is Bible-based and not "of our own undersanding"- Proverbs 3:5. We as a collective group have a firm dedication to our God and do not "worship" or "rely" on men for our salvation.
I cried while I watched your video. It really is very hard to make the decision to be true to yourself after a lifetime of being told how to look at reality. It was a wonderful decision you made to trust your own heart, and I'm so sorry it took so long to start healing from the guilt. Those of us born on the inside did not know other to agree to their terms, we trusted them! That's the nature of a child. WE'RE NORMAL! XD
I had to cut out at "couldn't live up to the level of purity". You are one sad individual, but in no way do I feel sorry for you. You left Jehovah's true organization to live your own life. Our faith is not distant, it's protective. I wasn't raised as one of Jehovah's Witnesses and I have to tell you although it was difficult to change my old ways to "put on the new personality", not for one second do I regret it. Proverbs says "man was not made even to direct his own step". Jehovah God loving
@WomboDK well, right there you give away why you are not able to see this cult for what it really is. as an adult you were convinced that you needed to change your old ways in order for god to find favor in you. But you are sadly mistaken. We are born perfect. God loves you the way you are. Yes, faith with out works is dead, but you do not need to adhere to a set of rules laid out by an 'organization' to have good works. Have fun in your bubble!
@WomboDK ps. no one can live up to their level of purity. I hope you don't have kids because that level of judgment makes for a very unhealthy parent/child relationship. Have fun teaching them not to masturbate!
@WomboDK and if your quoting proverbs about man directing his own step, you should follow your own advice and stop and following some group of men from brooklyn
@WomboDK You have chosen as an adult to accept this belief system, and that is an honorable thing. This is your experience, and no one has any right to an opinion about it. Laura's experience is her own, my experience is mine... I'm happy for you. There is an unbalanced set of principles. "Make the Truth Your Own"...what if someone CAN'T? Perspective affects everyone's idea of truth and is largely based on individual experience.
@WomboDK if you are so 'affected' by these great people and their beliefs, why are you so devoid of love and understanding??? You call me 'sad'. I think your ability to judge people and situations that you don't know much about sad.
@WomboDK The Watchtower IS NOT JEHOVAH!And LEAVING these 10 or 12 men who pretend to be guided by Jehovah IS NOT NEITHER LEAVING JEHOVAH!!!May God open your blind eyes,if it is HIS WILL!
@WomboDK ONE QUESTION:DID JESUS TEACH ABOUT A TRUE RELIGION OR ABOUT THE GOOD NEWS OF GOD'S KINGDOM?TRUE CHRISTIANS ONLY NEED GOD'S SPIRIT AND HIS WORD,BUT NOT SOMETHING INVENTED BY MEN CALLED "RELIGION"JOHN 4:23,24.ALL RELIGIONS ARE FROM DEVIL!!!
Home schooled? OUCH! My mother was thinking of home schooling us, and thankfully she didn't, I can't imagine what that was like.
I lost count long ago of how many JW's I've known who married young because of the severe guilt over having sex-before marriage. In my former hall there were 4 divorces in the past year.
Thx for posting this Laura. I could relate with what you said about how the organization says it's one of love, but that is not what was felt. I remember even at age 5, when myom got baptized, that I hated the weird gut feeling I had at assemblies & meetings. Something just wasn't right. Anyway, thanks for sharing this & I look forward to your other posts...also gonna send a friend request on fb. ;)
Laura, one word for you - AWESOME. You are AWESOME! I really wish you the best in your future. The more genuine expressions I hear like this, the more I know that I am not crazy feeling the way I do about the organization. Something isn't right. That's a FACT.
Take care of yourself and get busy living girl!! (Seems like you are on that path.)
My heart bleeds for you. I was born-in and still have a great majority of my family still in this terrible thing, this so called "loving" organization. I too have left them. Please know that you're not alone.
I see alot of myself in you, for me Fear of not making it to God's new world, being transgender and being in the org for me got so hard I had to take a step back from the org, I'm not disfellowshiped. It's hard however life does go on. Kind regards ~ Stacy
@archeng123 I believe in love. The kind of love that they all want to believe in, but isn't really taught them. And I believe in the power of hope. I am thankful the organization was able to provide my family with hope when they couldn't find it elsewhere.
Laura, I found your video to be compelling... but I also feel that you've missed some important truths.... The most important of which is, when our hearts condemn us, it's often due to a misconception we ourselves have about what is expected of us. (1 John 3:19-20) "By this we shall know that we originate with the truth, and we shall assure our hearts before him 20 as regards whatever our hearts may condemn us in, because God is greater than our hearts and knows all things".
@RussianRevolutionary... This weight we sometimes carry is a natural reaction to the insight we have into Biblical standards. Like Asaph, we can become plaqued by feelings of low self esteem or inappropriate guilt, we may feel we're not measuring up in some way. (Psalm 73:14) "And I came to be plagued all day long, And my correction is every morning".
I've had similar feelings Laura, but good friends, research and reflection helped me to get a balanced view of what God expects from me...
@RussianRevolutionary I appreciate your condolences, but trust me, there was no misconception about what was expected me. You do not know my story, nor do you know how good my friends are, or how much research or reflection I have put in. Please don't quote scripture to me, it has lost it's poignancy. and thank you for mentioning balance, because I have never been more balanced in my life. especially after posting this video...
Dear Laura, Thanks for sharing your experience. Much of what you said really rings true with me. Especially the part about keeping secrets. It seems to be common place in JW land. They point the finger at others when 4 more are pointing back at themselves.
Your *BLINKERED SELF-RIGHTEOUSNESS* prevents you from showing the compassion, that you learn Jesus showed at every one of your meetings.
You are a Pharasee.
Jesus tells *YOU* to throw stones, when you yourself have no sin.
Jude teaches that even Jesus did not display such behavior.

JW's are a cult. Pure and simple. The more people understand what a cult is, and that this oranization is a cult, the better.

RussianRevolutionary 8 months ago
