  • a rare time when the remake exceeds the epicness of the original.

  • The harmonica in this is great, who is this Jimmy Wood guy?

  • the bluesy harmonica is just so heavy man!

the blues made hard rock and metal shine!!

play it heavy play it louder and louder everytime!

  • Yeah!

  • this is so fucking GOOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • From a Brummie in London- I loved it! You Kick Ass!!

  • Honestly not very cool in my opinion. The effects on Rob's voice annoy me and the instrumental part seems less catchy and harder on the ears.

  • FUCKIN KICK ASS COVER !!!!!!!!

  • AWESOME-thos has always been on eof my favorite Sabbath tunes...

  • you see, i KNEW halford could sing sabbath!

  • Loved this album when it came out!

  • this solo freaks me out!, great job

  • Group hug when the wizard walks by...

  • That first minute fucking reminds me of Cities on flame with rock and roll from Blue Oyster cult.

  • @AdammTheDude lol i think the same!!

  • the harmonika playing is fucking amazing, before this i dont remember the last time i got goosebumps from listening to a track \m/

  • Evevry body needs alittle wizard in the morning! SLAB!!!!!

  • amazing harmonica play ;O

  • This is a great version

This is off of Wiki just to confirm who played what :

The band Bullring Brummies is made up of Black Sabbath bassist Geezer Butler, Sabbath drummer Bill Ward, vocalist Rob Halford (not long out of Judas Priest), Obsessed guitarist Scott "Wino" Weinrich, Fight guitarist Brian Tilse and Jimmy Wood on Harmonica. Their cover of "The Wizard" on the first volume is their only recording, the musicians coming together specifically for this recording.

  • According to an interview with Bill Ward in the book Sabbath Bloody Sabbath this is Tony, Geezer, Bill and Halford.

  • u are correct

  • who the fuck are bullring brummies? never even heard of them.

  • Geezer is on bass and Rob Halford is singing. This is one of the (very) few Sabbath songs that was better in it's redone version than its original.

  • no, my friend, that´s simple impossible

  • Terry "Geezer" Butler on bass, Bill Ward on drums, Rob Halford on vox and, I believe, harmonica, Wino on guitar, and some one more guy. This is their only recording, very unfortunately.

  • Seriously, I like this better than the original, well done!

But this tribute mostly is not half as good. BB are the best on it, imho. Decent versions from Zombie and Megadeth, and that's all.

  • great music came from brum..check out my new song..hit on gypwin..cheers

  • @chicostixx Your fucking retarded. Kill yourself

  • I'm sorry but Iommi > Wino. Its hardly possible to even think that WIno would have picked the guitar up without Iommi's inspiration.

  • Wino who? (there's a pun intended as well, but I really don't know who Wino is).

  • Scott "Wino" Weinrich is a famous underground guitarist/singer who has been in many popular doom metal bands such as Saint Vitus, The Obsessed, The Hidden Hand, Place of Skulls, etc. Bands which take direct influence from Sabbath while still incorporating there own style.

  • Thank you :) I Wikied him later, found Saint Vitus, downloaded two of their albums - Hollow's Vitcim and The Walking Dead EP, and I'd say there's definitely a number of great stuff there, though a couple of fillers are present as well. Very Sabbatesque, but also with a sense of their time in music (trash-metal)

  • Those both actually have singer Scott Reagers but yeah there still good, check out the albums Born Too Late, Mourning Cries, and V.

  • @DoomMetalSludge

In all honesty no one can match Tony Iommi (maybe Jimmy Page), but probably the best cover of this song I've ever heard was by Zakk Wyld's Pride & Glory from '94.

  • This is by far the fucking best group of guys to ever get together.

    All-star collaboration.

    Wino is my God.

  • Tony was going to play on the song originally but couldn't due to his recording contract at the time.

  • sounds more like cities on flame

  • Excactly!

  • Yes I have to agree the bullring version does sound like cites on flames though Sabbath's original version does not.

  • Cities on Flame was inspired by the original.

  • @JTisGOD Cities on Flame by BOC was actually inspired by The Wizard, they said it in a interview.

  • love this song, thanks for the up!

  • The band Bullring Brummies is made up of Black Sabbath bassist Geezer Butler, Sabbath drummer Bill Ward, Judas Priest vocalist Rob Halford, Obsessed guitarist Scott "Wino" Weinrich, Fight guitarist Brian Tilse and Jimmy Wood on Harmonica.

  • Thanks for posting this, I always wanted to hear it.

  • Black Sabbath, Judas Priest, and The Obsessed. Quite and amazing collaboration.

  • @PaulTSeifert And I love this more than the original :D

  • tony is not in this band.

  • dudes it a tribute

  • first guy who comments on the video said tony was in bullring brummie (or at least what i thought he was say)

  • who knew that it is tony, bill, gezer and rob halford? ;]
