  • Thanks for this video! I was looking for a simple way to make a net for my oldest for her stuffed animals. This REALLY helped!

  • is it just me or do u look really baked?

  • I like them hand tats. Good info for a Fencer. thanks brother. Stay safe

  • How do you keep the knots from slipping once it is done? I've never made a net but I can see them clearly moving while you are working and you even move them yourself. Do they stop when the net is finished? Or does using them keep them tight? I'm sorry, I have no idea how this sort of stuff works.

  • Made my first net from your video John, also made hammock and I"m getting better at it, Great job. Also making your pheasant traps, works real well, keep up your video"s. Digger Aka.

  • Will you still love me tomorrow?

  • Thank you! This is exactly what I was looking for

  • 101 things to do in a prison cell

  • Thanks for the tutorial, it helps me^^

  • Ahh~ Thank you for posting this neat video. The method you’ve shone us here is the most field usable one I’ve found on YouTube so far. That’s why I'm going to draw net-making instructions onto a little queue- card and include it in my survival backpack.

  • *peeks out from beneath her 'nana-flage* This was a great tutorial . It showed me how to make a net with which to store my kids bananas for longer periods of time before they start to turn black. Thanks! *activates poopy diaper bomb* Over and out.

  • Very usefull!!! thanks! god luck and say hi to Trautman!!

  • Wait doesn't net need also weights or not? Did you add them later or does it work just like that???

  • I saw this vid shortly after he made it and then had to hunt 2 find it again! Y'all just don't understand what this vid thing is about! I'd a lot rather see someone do something like this, as I had someone with a film crew and no bloopers! This is what you'll actually go thru to do it! I was getting ready to tie one of these, to go in the top of my daughter's storage bldg. to hold all my grandsons stuffed animals, & I needed to see it done once again, & I remembered his vid.

  • This is awesome. Thanks for the idea.

  • this is for trapping mousedeer or rabbit or any big rodens in the jungle... we also can use fiber from tree or root fiber to make survival net

  • how do you finish the net

  • I really like your video. I watched it and made a net.

  • That's awesome~

  • really!!!! i could have done that?!

i spent like 3 days making a crappy net!!!

    :( thnx 4 video :D

  • Great video

  • thanks this was great!

  • Nice one mate, thanks for vid

  • DarthVader

  • 27 people have been caught in a net some point in there life

  • your a badass lol

  • Dude, is your uncle Bear Grylls!? haha. only kidding though Bear is the man. Im going to try and find some nylon string and make a back stop net to practice some golf at home. thanks for the video

  • the song in the back ground is amazing lol

  • cool man. im a scout and needed to learn this. great vid, and i like the close ups and the showing of the knots that u used.

  • PRETTY COOL I CAN MAKE A NET BAG LIKE THIS SAME SYSTEM BUT ROUNDED TO MAKE A NET BAG WITH A DRAW STRING AT THE TOP ! I'LL HAVE TO MAKE A VIDEO SINCE THERE AREN'T ANY ! NICE VID MATE !

  • @NONNIE357 can you please make a video on how to make it round that would be soooo helpful thankyou

  • @jhale4561 I've actually already made it just gotta upload it , but I didnt video the ending or what it looked like but all you gotta do is tie the last knots like the diagram and thats it I also make a cross heart necklace also check my other videos to see what I mean.

  • I like the info, design, etc. I just wish there wasn't so much camera noise and was edited better. GREAT GREAT GREAT info though. I would love to show this method in a series I'll be working on.

  • Saw a guy make a quick hammock using this method. Actually worked great.

  • Thanks a lot you save my Back and make my kids and friends happy now we can make our own Soccer Net great video

  • Maybe this is a dumb question, but how do you tie it off at the bottom to finish it up? I imagine take another piece and tie it to each knot at the bottom. If that's not it, can someone link to a video showing how to finish the bottom of the net?

  • great gran father granfather all fishin folk mended prawn nets setted prawn nets an knitted creel nets for years but what do l know lol

l will try to spell better in the future lol

  • @peterboo1 sorry mate i dont see you with a video with 205.370 views so shut up weird boy we dont care also can you learn to spell ?

  • @johnjayrambo11111

posted a video for you of how to knit a net and if your trawling and rip one always take it back to a three knot to mend it dont know if you would catch any fish with yours

  • @peterboo1 that was my guess too, would make the most sense

  • @johnjayrambo11111 MORE THAN ONE WAY TO MAKE A NET AND MORE THAN ONE USE FOR NETS YOU MAKE [WAKE UP PETERBOO1] NOT WHAT I WOULD WANT FOR MAKING THE NETS I MAKE BUT A FAST EASY WAY TO BUILD LARGER STUFF -SOCCER GOAL , HEAVY GARDEN NET-BOTH HARD ON THE HANDS USING SCEINE NEEDLES. REPLACE THE HANGING LINE WITH A RING PULL THE LINE THOUGH A BOARD WITH HOLES IN IT BEFORE MAKING THE TIES SHOULD GIVE YOU THE WORKING END OF A HAND MADE HAMMOCK. GOOD VIDEO WITH LOTS OF USES ..

  • @johnjayrambo11111 i wan't to cath a bird with it. how can i make it (the gap) smallleerrr??????

  • @mrmanpower22 If you put moredoubled strands closer together you can make the net tighter. I think showing a more coarse net is better for demonstraition purposes. It communicates the idea and demonstrates the method without being too complicated on a youtube video.

  • @mrmanpower22 6:00 "Where you tie these knots will be how big you net is"

  • @johnjayrambo11111

    Shut up!!!

  • @johnjayrambo11111

Its not the way fishermen would make a net, this is:

    youtube.com/watch?v=WW6VlflNbTU&feature=related

However this method is quick and easy and doesn't require a needle for netmaking

  • @peterboo1 FYI That IS an actual method of making a net, but thanks for playing.

  • Respond to this video... I wonder, does ANYONE bad mouthing this method understand that you can make the openings in the net smaller by tying everything closer, or are they all complete morons?

  • @peterboo1 how do you know how should it be he is a solider (marine) and making a net i part of surviving and every solider must learn that

  • @peterboo1

If you complain, Why don't do his job BETTER?

  • he looks fucking crazy

  • Wow thanks.... Now I can make my own customized net for my indoor swimming pool which will serve me as a huge hammock as well as trampoline with springs attached.. It will be a great fun for holidays for family and friends... :)))

  • Just what I was looking for! Thank you!

  • oww, so thats how it is made.. ^^_ thumbs up!

  • I used your video to make a soccer net for my grandson. I used a heavier cord and made a net 13' wide by 8' high ...the net hangs between two trees.....no more soccer balls going over the fence into the neighbor's yard! The net looks great and I've gotten many compliments on my project! I let everyone know that I got the information from you on Youtube! Thanks for taking the time to demonstrate.

  • This is such a great video! I used your knowledge so I could make a net to catch the peaches that drop from our peach tree. It's made from thick, fluffy blue yarn and looks fairly hilarious, but I think they'll land safely and without being cut or bruised. And I want you to know, I used a knife to cut the yarn. I had scissors right there, but I dug out my Outdoor Edge folder, just to tweak that one poster off. Thanks again for the info!

  • Very good! God bless!

  • It would have been a good video if not for the Darth Vader like breathing and the VERY noisy camera work!

  • thumbs up if you used this for a basketball hoop

  • Good for cucumber trellis.

  • I used this technique to make a trellis out of nylon string for growing plants up. worked awesome! Thanks for the info

  • hey were you in da marines caus youz good at dis stuff ps pleaze reply

  • thanks for the vid! but what about the bottom strings that runs across the entire net? like a vollyball net

  • Omg, it's Bear Grylls! U r so epic

  • take this as a compliment, you remind me of bear grills

    Thanks a bunch!

  • hey man, i never knew,but now i Do ! Good stuff !

  • This is really good i subbed a few months ago when i watched your trapping vids,

  • thanks for sharing.

  • cool man

  • cool net. this vid helped me, thanks

  • Thanks mate

  • thank you !! finally someone that makes a video on nets and doesnt make it complicated

  • Excellent tutorial, I think you might actually be John Rambo. One question though. It looks like you're using a cow hitch for the first knots and the second knot is an overhand knot? I usually use a simple sheet bend or a carrick bend. How does the overhand do in terms of elasticity and keeping its form?

  • This is a good one for glass ball decorations. Thank You

  • Wheres the war at rambo???

  • @fact0is0fear

    Irak, Afganistan, etc.

I will just make the strands closer together and the knots too. I am FOREVER gratefull, and so is Kaya!!!!!!!! **GIIIIANT HUGS**

  • @johnjayrambo11111 it would have been nice if you would have had a camera person.

  • I'm liking that, not that I've ever going to use it, but now I know how, and knowing is half the battle!

  • wow great video man. ive seen some net making videos but this is the only one that actually seems easy and effective. thanks.

  • @DCL1997 im pretty sure just about everyone dude

  • @DCL1997 technically scissors are two one sided knifes that close upon each other

  • @DCL1997 You have got to be the stupidest mother fucker on the face of this earth, and there are almost 7 billion people.

  • Thanks for your time. I was trying to make a base for a mattress. You helped me to accomplish it. DFFL

  • Hey great video so useful! But hot do you finish it?

  • Finaly got around to making one thanks to this vid. Thanks for putting it up, now I have a couple of nifty cargo nets in my room to hang stuff in/on. Wish I would have found this back when we were making home made camo for paintball...woulda saved us some bucks. :)

  • Nice vid m8! Too many ppl forgotten how to make a net! At one time almost everyone in U.K could probably do this! Purse nets and long netting etc!

  • simple and dose the job, thanks

  • you have a big problem with the camera!

  • hmmm i want to make a really big really strong net so i can make a net trap for my friend on halloween. freak him out big time

  • Nice vid, im going to do this tomorrow. I would do it now but i'm really stoned

  • nice video john, its nice to see someone actually build something then show you 2 steps then leave you to work the rest out, good work

  • Ayy man I realy apreciat ur videos but I want u to make one on how to finish the net

  • are you a soldier?

  • Nets are not illegal, trapping is illegal in certain places. In the U.S., certain states have trapping laws. Like in Massachusetts it is illegal unless you take a trapper training course and been issued a certificate of completion.

    mass.gov/dfwele/dfw/regulations/plain_language/hunting_trapping.htm

Nets can be used in other ways, besides trapping.... for instance it can be used to make a hammock, or can also be used to make a rucksack. Or even a perimeter between trees to keep out unwanted guest

  • oh thank god someone is finially putting useful things on the net thank you so much johnjayrambo11111

  • @blossomsdream33 nice pun :P

  • Thanks! I am trying to grow peas and didn't want the animals in my dirt. There are lots of cats around here and I can just put the net over my planter and attach it to keep the cats from using it as a potty and the plants can grow. I am thinking it could be used as a trellis for the peas also.

  • There is no place that has a law against possessing nets. If you say there are, then prove it. Find a Gov site that says it... Otherwise I'm sorry. If it came down to it, claim it's your weapon, and you have the right to bare arms....

  • this guy scare the crap ut of me , i dont know y

  • i am an avid outdoors man. one thing theres been times iv wanted was a lil net, to use in trapping larger animals. thank you. easy to see and understand.\

i want to make a deer size deer snare. instead of a loop, use a net. legs go right through.. i will make a video and reply with it!

  • I just made one of these nets using yarn after watching this video. Used yarn because its cheap and was available. Took me a few minutes to get into a rhythm but after a few minutes i was popping off a 10-section row in about 3 minutes. total time to finish a roughly 8X8 knotted net was 30 minutes, and it was my first time ever tryin it! great vid. wish you would show how to secure the bottom end a little better tho! but i'll figure it out

  • how do you finish please coment back

  • how do you finish

  • Nice!!!

  • i love this vidio! good job!

  • ty mate. very nice

  • Thank you!

  • how do u take the net down when ur finished with it?

do u just cut it down or untie it?

  • nice tat

  • thank you i will use this to make a fishing net. It may take a while but I'm determined.

  • @wibblemu9 These nets are illegal FYI. Shouldnt use them unless you're in an actual survival situation. Even just having one on you is enough to be charged with intent.

  • @achilles444 its legal where i live i don't know about you live

  • @achilles444 possessing a net in a basement is intent? And yet you claim you made one with yarn. Go knit yourself some hand cuffs and turn yourself in!

    grow up!

  • @jlm993 grow up? they are illegal in lots of places. i'm not saying i personally think they are dangerous or should be illegal but they are. And yes being caught with one even if you're not using it can still get you in trouble. I didnt flame anyone or say anything negative, why all the animosity?

  • @jlm993 Also I made one with paracord since the last time I posted here. It works great!

  • @achilles444 why is it illegal???

  • I had to laugh about your manding the cam but funny aside, Thanks a lot as you realy made it simple to make a net!

  • buenisimo che¡¡¡¡¡

  • im gonna use to catch fish!
