  • Hi! I just swim 800 mts for my first time but I breath every second stroke if I do it every three or more strokes I'm out of air does that mean I have poor breathing or lack of retention of something? Is it bad? It can be improved some way?

  • does my head needs to be fully under the water ? or just face ?

  • @horror469 - Just the face. While your head should be mostly under, if it's completely under you'll create too much resistance.

  • Should I exhale under the water by nose or mouth?

  • @Ariyanaja - It is up to you... benefits to both. Breathing out through the nose is easier to control, and clears the nostrils. Breathing out through the mouth allows you to release air quicker should that be the need. Experiment with both and figure out which works best.

  • @Ariyanaja - Test them both and see what works best for you. Typically, nose, but don't do what's typical, do what works best for you after you've tried it all.

  • GUYS THIS VIDEO IS FOR COMPETETIVE SWIMMING(RACE). This is not for life guard training. Alife guard training and test is two or every three strokes

  • i can't swim :(

  • man i stick to sidestroke with a scissors kick and just glide with my head above water its sick

  • its sort of a metaphor for how i live my life

  • In my swimming they taught us to swim in this pattern .

1,2,3 breath on right side then

    1,2,3 breath on left side.

  • weird

i can't take breath from left side :D

  • @faizalelric hehe, i can take only on left side :D

  • Men are very silly swimming.Woman is very carefull. And this is right!

  • @swimstein Lol generalise more?

Firstly, the speaker in the video is male!

  • @zzangzzang1 i know speaker is male.I am talking about swimmers!

  • @zzangzzang1 Lol i am talking about "SWIMMING" not speaker... lolx

  • do you guys go to different pools or stay in the same pool? where? lol

  • So, is the breathing twice on each side technique the best approach?

  • @ayces92 - Just ideas... try many ways and find out what's best for you.

  • @ayces92 I started off breathing on the same side then eventually got to where I could do bi-lateral, now I can breath either side or bi-lateral. Good to try em all.

  • thank you! i had tons of trouble before this!

  • I do every 3rd

  • another great exercise for us !.--keep on going-'go siwm' and we will follow you. thanks
