@counterclockwise123 I wouldnt say thats true, I had a 91 saturn that i bought used from a personal owner who had since new back in 2004 and i kept it for 3 years and only had basic maintenance done to keep it up, then finally sold it to my buddy who drove it for another 2 years and he had very little problems if none at all til he sold it to another friend of ours who is still driving it to this day.. but it now its having its last days.. Not bad for a car that is 20 years old very reliable...
Might I add they killed Pontiac as well. All they did was re badge cars as Pontiac's and Saturn's just like they make Oldsmobile's that were nothing but re badges. Of course they killed the cars lol They basically killed Saab!
@ece3k I always told myself I would never buy a saturn - they looked cheap and I'd heard bad things. However, I somehow ended up buying one and I cannot believe how cool these cars are. I am very impressed with the performance of my saturn (considering it's GM and it's super cheap) and I'm glad I made the purchase. You should try things out before you close yourself off - you never know what you might find?
I am gonna miss Saturn....I think that it was a big mistake for GM to dump Saturn. They should have cut Buick instead, they already have Cadillac; they are just competing against each other. I own a 2002 Saturn Vue and it is awesome, I just dont like the cheap interior. The $500 tuneup also sucked, I usually do it my self ,but I had to let the dealership do it.
I also own a VUE, mine is 2003 with 5 speed manual and 2.2L engine (96000 miles). I feel so safe on that vehicle, mine came with TCS, ABS and curtain airbags (those three were optional with the manual tranny). I agree that interior looks cheap but everything else is great. I get over 22mpg city, much better than any SUV I have driven before. And I get that milleage without driving like a grandma, otherwise I´d get mid or high 20´s
@luisinhoens90 I just traded mine in for a 2010 Mitsubishi Outlander GT. I had a 02 Saturn Vue AWD V6. If I could give you any advice on yours it would be to maintain the transmission. Thats why I had to get rid of mine. My transmission started to make funny noises and slipping, so I traded it in and only got 3500 for it. But you have a Manual transmission, yours wouldn't be that expensive to fix (I think) if your clutch broke.
I just have a problem with the catalityc converter, the Service Engine Soon light turned on and after I put the scanner it said it was that piece. Do you know if that´s an expensive replacement??
@luisinhoens90 No, Sorry...because I never had that problem with mine. I had a problem with the oxygen sensor and the engine temperature sensor, which caused my cooling fan to always turn on.
@celloman78 better off with out this thing, witnessed an accident where guy rear ended a jeep commander going 60 mph in to the stopped commander. wasn't pretty, guy died a few minutes after i was able to get to him since doors were locked
@smitty446 Oh! that's terrible man! Well, I did get rid of my Vue in April, I traded it in for a 2010 mitsubishi outlander gt. The Vue's transmission sounded like it started slipping, so I traded it in before it got worse. Anyway, thanks for the info.
@celloman78 There was no Point in Keeping Saturn. They kept Buick as there Luxury Car Brand, and are looking at younger buyers as the target market. Cadillac is for the rich, speedsters, and "new standard of the world." Chevy is for the General market as always, and then there is GMC, which is just the left overs.......
at leaset the satur vue gets a good rating witch is good and better than the 2001 toyota highlander, and a 2003 nissan frontier and the cheap the better and saturn do not suck its good
nah i got a 2003 nissan frontier. the vue was a lot cheaper, but as you said, it is a car your mother drives and i decided on a truck rather than good gas milegae!

i wish i saw how much saturns suck before i got my 2007 vue, i got in a 25mph front end crash and it got 2900 to fix it because the whole body of the car is made of shity plastic and the whole front bumper and fender and frame of the car had to get fixed
I'm pretty sure in a '66 mustang hitting something at 40 mph while restrained by a lap-belt is not such a good idea. If you dont die from your head slamming into the steering wheel you will when your launched through the front windshield. Sheetmetal isnt all that good, your dads VUE has crumple zones, airbags, and 3 point belts. I'm not meaning to scare you, just prove my point ;)
Its weird, alot of people are kind of shocked when I say my car is 1 1966 Mustang, because of how unsafe it is, but it actually isn't that bad. It has very good brakes, responsive steering, and I actually feel safer in it than in other cars. Probably because I understand how it works, that and maybe because I am not as reckless a driver as my dad.
I know it's been a while since your post but I am about to bust your bubble. I drive a 1968 mustang myself and I know about earlier models. The 1966 has a one piece steering column. In a front end collision you would be lucky to be thrown out the windshield. The one piece column will pierce through the driver's side and go straight through your head. Read: "spear steering column" If you want to feel safe in your mustang change the steering column to a post 1967 unit.
hey anybody who has a vue that lives where theres a lot of snow? i was looking at getting one but i need something thats good in the snow. i live in colorado and we usually have about 4 feet of snow throughout the winter
Saturn didn't make even one good car.

nope, your dads vue is safer.
korranda 3 years ago
Ok, but unlike my dads Vue, you don't have to pay an arm and a leg for parts for my car, and my car is entirely sheetmetal too.
