  • 3:28 lol *ding* catches like a boss

  • I thought the difference between them was magazine had spring and clip was like a box mag, thank you for clearing that up

  • awesome

  • Thank you.

  • Excellent video. Finally someone who can explain it without calling everyone an idiot. Thank you.

  • Thank you. Im currently in a gunsmithing program and this was very helpful

  • The way he caught that M1 maga...I mean CLIP...was freaking awesome!

  • The *Chiiing* from the M1 Garand made me horny.... I have problems don't I? lol

  • aw lawd.... dat *chiiiiiing* from ejection of the M1 Garand makes me nostalgia back to Call of Duty

  • Very well done video. Thanks for posting.

  • Thank you for doing this video, I have gone blue in the face explaining & showing this to others who think the two (descriptions & devices) are interchangable.

  • well done

  • Extremely well explained. Thanks.

  • Could you load that AR15 clip without the stripper clip? Just by hand?

  • @ericherold You *can* - but it's a 30-step process as opposed to a 3-step one with 3 stripper clips.

  • @ericherold yes, its very easy.

  • Thanks :)

  • I thought this was the guy from Midway USA. O-o

  • Excellent!

  • 15 idiots are still in denial, going around saying "clip."

  • Finally, I have seen the light!

  • i spam people with this when the argue with me

  • Thank you thats very cool :D

  • I tried reading some blog post detailing the difference. Totally went over my head. Watched this video, totally got it. Thanks for actually talking in laymen's terms instead of loading your video up with gun terminology

  • Nice catch on that M1 clip, haha.

  • Uhhh... He also has the rifle that goes Ping...

  • 15 people don't get it.

  • great video, two thumbs up!

  • Now i want to go shoot something

  • THANK YOU

It kinda disgusts me that in countries such as the US whereas guns are often legal to possess, there are not simple lessons in school informing people of how guns work. It amazes me how many people don't know that in many weapons, a round is loaded INTO the barrel.

How can you be sure of your safety unless you know that?

  • why can't we have a subject on guns in our educational system?!

  • Great video, perfectly describes the difference. So many people get it wrong, I direct them to this video.

  • cool guy 3:22

  • 240p though the quality isnt that bad. wow:D

  • EPIC

  • Thanks!

  • Very nice, i knew it all along thanks for confirming it.

  • so a clip is like a speedloader in the airsoft world

  • Very informative and very well done. Thanks!

  • we need more people like you to teach a healthy respect for guns. I have no problems with the guns themselves, just the people who see it as a toy or basic tool without responsibility. I have the eastern view on weapons that they are extentions of our physical and mental self, and must be treated with a healthy sense of respect as such.

  • thank you for this video. i think people will never really catch on, simply because of pop culture or hip hop culture will always refer to magazines as clips.

  • Ya know, I have known the difference between a clip and a magazine since being a child. I honestly still don't know why people are all up in arms because some people refer to a magazine as a clip. Sure it isn't technically correct but I mean come on... the idea still comes across! It is like my linguistics teacher said in college. As long as a word communicates an idea, even if frowned upon by the linguistics community, it is still a word....

  • Great Video!

  • @theamazinguberdavid Nope - L85s (prev SA80) use STANAG mags, same as AR15s. Stripper clips are used.

  • Thank you! Now instead of telling people til I pass out I can just send them to watch this!

  • And now I know!

  • Great video, too bad he didn't use dummy/training rounds for the demonstration.

  • FINALLY! I UNDERSTAND THIS!

  • i never new the sks worked like that thanks!

  • Thank for for being a sane voice for firearm owners. I can tell just by the way you handle your guns that you put responsibility first.

  • You gotta love the sound an M1 makes when you unload it. That's the most deadly typing machine you'll ever see in your life.

  • PING!!!

  • @Mawoo42

Agreed. I learned more in this vid than I ever did in reading books on firearms, including how to properly load and unload, and all I wanted to learn was the difference between a magazine and a clip.

  • Nice catch. :)

  • Very informative, thanks.

  • great video dude!!!, i hope people will stop using the term incorrectly!

  • Nice video man. Good job.

  • @victorlarranaga Thanks!

  • very good video. I twas informative and your safety around the firearms was also top notch.

  • If that Glock has a 6 round mag, why does he have 7 bullets on the table?

  • @cubs197 one in the chamber babyyyy!!!! ;)

  • @cubs197

Probably because you can have one round in the chamber while having a six cartridge magazine loaded into the pistol. 6+1

  • Thanks for taking the time to make this video

  • i love the "DING" the Garand makes :D

  • @000guyman ikr, its the best part about that weapon!

  • Well I've learned something today.

  • A clip is a device that is used to store multiple rounds of ammunition together as a unit, ready for insertion into the magazine or cylinder of a firearm.

  • Cool. Is there a difference between Cartridges and Rounds?

  • Who gives a shit. I used to love guns, and the whole "gun-nut persona", turned me off...

  • @SolidSnake3131 lol, short for........(i used to call it clip)

  • @kalo484 I won't disagree there. hahaha.

  • @SolidSnake3131 hehe

  • For something like the Garand or the SKS, is the clip required or can the rounds be loaded by hand? I'm 16 and live in California, so don't judge me.

  • @DiscoDude82 Well I'm 28 and I live in Commiefornia, and for the M-1 the clip is required to load the rifle fully, with the SKS, individual rounds can be used to top off the magazine if desired, but in combat, charging it with a stripper clip feed is the quickest and easiest way, which, back to the M-1, is why Dr. Garand designed his rifle to only accept en-bloc clips, because speed was one of the requirements for the M-1 during development.

  • why would you need a stripper clip to load your magazine?

  • @jaybeebee14 it easyer then put bullets in one bye one

  • Comment removed

  • i hope you aren't fascist

  • This guy is ready for a zombie madness

  • loved this video!!!

  • Just because they use both in the movies doesn't mean they r the same thing, & besides what kind of an idiot would get all thier gun knowledge from T.V. & movies, do u know how wrong they r in movies about all kinds of stuff, let me explain this to u, a clip is used to feed rounds into a magazine, & there is really no reason for the name calling, retard

  • This isn't your video.

  • @MrLegoguy9198 Gratz, you can now find the real video.

  • Magazine Tubes are what feed a shotgun. Some shotguns tho use Box magazines like the Saiga-12 and AA-12 An example of a magazine tube fed shotgun would be a remington 870 or mossberg 500 :)

  • on a shotgun is it a magazine or a magazine tube?

  • @iiNeVeRShOOt it's a tube magazine

  • Well done my friend. In a battleship they store ammunition in the ships "______"

MAGAZINE. Ships don't have clips to the dumb ass who thinks clips and mag's are the same. Educate yourself and people who don't know won't think your a dumb ass.

  • this guy is a dumbass clip and magazine are the same damn thing

  • @ObamaSucks12345 Troll. Go away.

  • @ObamaSucks12345 I agree with your user name but you are wrong.

  • @ObamaSucks12345 No they aren't, if u really dont know something as simple as the difference in a clip and a magazine then u really shouldn't be allowed guns

  • @nonyobizznaz97531 clips and magazines are the same cause they use both in the movies you retard

  • @ObamaSucks12345 Just because they use both in the movies doesnt mean mean they r the same thing, & besides what kind of an idiot would get all their knowledge of guns from T.V. & movies, dont u realize that just because they do or say something in a movie that doesnt make it true, its like u said that there is such thing as the force because its in Star Wars, clips feed rounds into a magazine while magazines r used to store ammo and/or feed the rounds into the chamber

  • @ObamaSucks12345 No. they are not.

  • @denson123123 your wrong and gay

  • @ObamaSucks12345 U do realize that u have not given a single valid argumeant, besides why would u even argue & say they r the same thing when he clearly shows u the difference between the 2 in the video

  • @ObamaSucks12345 And i can tell u arent a very smart person not only by the fact that u have not a single valid poiny but also9 by the fact that u feel the need to call me a retard and call denson123123 gay, this does nothing but make u appear as a sensless idiot who doesnt know how to properly argue by presenting valid points

  • @nonyobizznaz97531 thanks Big boy!

  • @denson123123 Haha, no problem man

  • @ObamaSucks12345 you mean I am right and clever? Thanks dude

  • My question to all the people that watch this.... Why does it matter what people call it. You ass clowns all know that when someone says clip they mean mag, so why let it bug you so much?? Anyone who gets pissed about that should stick there gun in their mouth and pull the trigger. Because if you can get mad over something so little then you shouldnt be allowed to live.

  • @SamLFisher You are getting mad about this lol....

  • @SamLFisher

Sure sounds like youre mad for someone telling others not to be mad

  • I like how a simple set sentences can be preceived as anything other than some instructions.

  • Ahh okay, it's just called a clip because it 'clips' bullets together.

  • In Basic Training the Drill Sergeants (or Drill Instructors) get VERY mad when you refer to the M-16/M-4 magazine as a clip. When I went through Basic it usually meant a long hard stint of "corrective training" for any uninformed soldier who said the word "clip".Those that used the word "clip" when referring to the magazine learned the hard way what it was really called. And for all you gamers out there who still can't figure out this simple concept, that is why you will always suck at real life

  • Oh... it annoys me so damn bad when I hear people that use the words "clip" and "magazine" like they are interchangeable.

  • 3:25 Catching the clip like a badass

  • its like saying what is the difference between a wallet and a money(paper bill) clip

  • Been calling them clips my whole life....what is wrong with me....

  • @Onderonable There isnt anything wrong with calling it that, it is a very common mistake but it is good to know that a clip and a magazine r different things, i dont get mad when someone calls a magazine a clip but i do get mad when i just simply say "u mean magazine" & they say it is the same thing & actually believe they r the same, i think its great to be educated & know that they r different, its ok to call a magazine a clip but its not ok to believe they r the same thing

  • easy way...if it has a spring in it , its a magazine......

  • I knew there was some sort of difference, but of course nobody I knew could tell me the difference..

  • Why does Remington refer to them as Magazine Clips then?

  • VERY informative. That's an impressive collection of guns, too.

  • What an informative video. Thanks. I'm going to show this to some of the beginner gun owners that I know. Nice job!

  • i thought if the bullets went on top of each other and didnt stack offset its a clip. 1911 pistols have clips glocks have magazines.

  • @TheSweatybutcher Wrong. 1911's use magazines. It's a single stack, but it's still a magazine. Glocks use use double stack magazine. The Lee Einfield uses a single stack clip. The M1 Garand uses a double stack clip.

  • Hey please someone help me, what is it that makes the bullet jump out of the chamber when you pull the slide back? I always thought it was the spring in the magazine, that's the case with my 8mm gas pistol. When I have a bullet in the chamber and I take the magazine out, the one in the chamber can't get out by only pulling the slide back. I see here, even when the magazine is out, the bullet in the chamber jumps out, what's the cause? I don't really understand this, please someone help me out

  • okay, so if a gun is bolt action does that mean the "magazine" is actually a clip since you have to manually feed the rounds into the internal magazine?

  • @mo389 No that's still called an internal box or fixed magazine. You could possibly use a "stripper clip" to load it but 9 times out of 10, the stripper doesn't stay in the bolt action rifle.

  • Extremely informative video. Well done

  • Thank you for posting this video,I was getting tired of all the people calling mags clips.

  • Very informative, thank you!

  • on mailcall gunny gave an example, with a paper clip and a paper magazine. He said "you can put the clip in the magazine but not the magazine in the clip"

This video cleared a bit of terminology as well :)

  • AR-15? Don't we call it M-16?

  • @MrSmith2100 AR-15 is the civilian version of the M-16, just like the .223 is the civilian version of the military 5.56

  • You sound a bit like NintendoCapriSun. That's really cool C:

  • damn you have a lot of guns..you're set for a zombie apocalypse lol...thanks for the vid

  • very well explained!!

  • I don't want a 6 min long vid...just tell me the difference

  • @DUCKSPAT Agree, this guy has weapon fetish lol

  • lol I probably would have forgotten to unload the round in the chamber every time...hey its not loaded! BAM

  • You don't have pull the charging on the AR-15, you press the bolt release

  • 2:02

I bet people have died forgetting to do that.

  • @AssaultCrusader ur probably right

  • Comment removed

  • Nice catch

  • i remember iwas at shooting range with my little cousin and mom. he needed more ammo, so he said i need another cartride (refering to mag) so i handed him a loaded bullet X3 he said "no i neeed a clip" i handed him a kar98 stripper clip. he said "i need a reloading thingy for the pistol" i handed him a cleaning rod. he said "what do u put in the gun then? i said "bullets" he said" what do i put in the gun? im like "BULLETS" XD

  • @rwmerlot777 Actually buddy, you put shells into the gun, the bullet is the tip of the shell.

  • @Rekuddo actually buddy, a round or cartrige would be correct. a shell is only correct if its ammuntion for a shotgun. A cartridge, also called a round, packages the bullet, gunpowder and primer into a single metallic case precisely made to fit the firing chamber of a firearm. you were both wrong and need to look in a dictionary every now and then

  • Thank you for making/uploading this video. I had visited several other websites on the subject and was still a little fuzzy and confused. This video cleared all confusion.

  • who gives a fuck

  • 20 rnd mags are sexy...

  • My name is Bryce too not that many out there we gotta stick together xD

  • finally some1 who doesnt talk out of his ass

  • 3:24 was epic!

  • As a gamer, it's VERY frustrating when fellow gamers have no idea what they're talking about and say that a magazine is a clip. I had one guy say that a magazine was the total ammo count and a clip was the magazine! and the sad part? everyone agreed with him. it's just depressing to see the gaming community so ignorant nowadays ;(

  • @damncritics

it's not common knowledge (although it really should be) and I doubt a majority of gamers have ever even handled a real firearm

  • @damncritics I know what u mean everyone i ever play with is always calling a magazine a clip & when im just like "u mean magazine" they r like "they're the same thing" & im like "no they aren't" & i explain to them why they aren't & they still think they r the same thing

  • i love the ping noise in the m1 grand and the feeling when you pull a bolt in a bolt action rifle feels and sounds good man

  • sounded like a duck quacking when he put the shell in the shotgun

  • Gotta love that "ping" from the M1 Grand

  • HOLLY that AR has a Polymer lower and stock molded into one. COOL

  • He forgot the AK-47

  • ITS NOT A FUCKIN CHARGING HANDLE!!!!! it dosent charge the gun ITS A COCKING HANDLE as it COCKS the weapon.......

  • @sprhowie Wrong.

  • @GoRideGo how am i wrong? i have been around weapons since i was 5, not to mention my military training and weapons handling drills. i can send you a copy of our parts manual if you wish. It is in fact a cocking handle, charging handle is a poor hollywood name that has worked its way into the uninformed and is now part of the slang culture. please do some research before trying to talk to someone who has more knowledge on the subject. Thank you

  • @sprhowie Wrong.

  • @sprhowie absolutely

  • @sprhowie If he said COCK, it would make this video unsuitable to minors.

  • @DevilMaster you mean roster

  • @YTBYlover You mean ROOSTER.

  • It's like calling a weapon a "gun" or rounds "bullets".

It basic my DI beat into us "This is my weapon, this is my gun, this is for fighting, this is for...."

  • i love u

thank u i absolutely hate people who misuse clip. makes me cringe

  • I love you.

  • atleast someone does it right
