Maaan... This was when country music really had soul , too. The music of this era was quite truly artistic freedom. I'm only 27, but I've listened to country since I was a baby, and I'm quite the "city slicker" if you'd want to take it that far.

The newer country (late 90's to present) is garbage.

If all bands were as good as Alabama, country would still be on top of the world today.

Totally agree. These days, it seems a lot of music is made just to have music produced, like it is business. The good music back then was created from the hearts of people who loved what they do. Now you take a young person, give them a 'band', media, and songs that they will sing and claim to be their own.

The good stuff is still being created. It just isn't popular, gotta search a bit to find it.
