  • Captain Matchbox Whoopee Band - Who Walks in When I Walk Out

  • Never heard of this rock group they sound good!

  • @mrgeorge7196 that's not untypical of Aussie bands. They sound good, but only Aussies would know them.

  • @mrgeorge7196 look up the captain matchbox whoopie band and have fun

  • "Sweet" or "Slade"? .-)

  • @fortheloveoftunes , also bit ofStatus Quo :)

  • @thedishcookiemonster Sweet were fine, but Ted Mulry Gang played to bad asses... not older sisters of Bay City Rollers fans (that was Sweet's job). Status Quo were big in Australia, so it's hardly surprising Teddy took a little from them... Alan Lanchaster (of Status Quo) was a friend of Ted's... I'll ask him if he'd agree next time I see him... I can't ask Ted, cause he's dead.

  • @nzoz1976 , thx !!

    btw: love it :)

  • This song should be called: Going to Dork-town, to suck some balls. What a pile of shit!

  • late great Ted!

  • "FUCKN CLASSIC"

  • Wayout

  • Haven't seen this for yonks - miss you Ted- you were one hell of a mate.

    j

  • nzoz1976 you are the best, i've watched many of your clips, thanx to you i've been able to go back in time to when we were young and the music was the best ever. if it wasn't for you it'd be lost forever, you are a true champion, thank you!

  • @61jimbob Thank you... I'm only too happy to provide such nostalgia.

  • CLASSIC!!!! What a trip down memory lane!! Will someone please bring back the 70's??!!

  • Tragic Ted died for starters...and tragic he died a day after Shirls, 'cause not many news reports about it.

  • Ah the 70's....the decade fashion forgot...but the music rocked on....remember this song had just got my license, hitting the streets in the old Holden EF with radio on and this one blasting through the dashboard speaker all the windows wound down....as we headed towards Adelaide. Those were the days, bugger all traffic on the road, life was a lot easier, non of these so called do gooders...you could have a good time.

  • this song was so good remember having them at my school social dance realy new how to rock RIP ted

  • Wow, a song written in 1917 and made popular by the Original Dixieland Jazz Band performed as a rock tune - that's amazing! Very cool update.

  • @ronbo11 the majority of Aussie baby boomers would most likely only know this version.

  • Classic jazz tune that TMG have totally nailed!! Fabulous rock version. This was my fav TMG song. I saw them suppoting AC-DC at the Myer Music Bowl, they were awesome!

  • love TMG ...tommmorrow nite at the darkdown strutters ball....seeya there:))

  • I want to party with nzoz

  • @roughnut1963 shout me a drink too?

  • @nzoz1976 Jamaica Rum ?

  • @turnaboutintruder Oh I have never had that before... make sure it's served in a pineapple!

  • Taxi Tooting.

    Eight-Mate.

    Best Ball.

  • I second australaqua's nomination for a special award for NZOZ1976

This is a ver very old song originally written about 1920 as a jazz tune. 'Darktown strutters' refers to 'negroes' in the jazz areas of town.

I have over two dozen versions of this song by by jazz greats like Hoagy Carmichael, Coleman Hawkins and Benny Goodman .. to Fats Domino and Ella Fitzgerald to Dean Martin ... and all the way to Australia and this kick ass version (my favourite ) by TMG, my FIRST ever vinyl ;-)

  • @Deano647 I have the Al Jolson version, but I love this one best too!!

  • I love you Ted. Rest In Peace. Love your music heaps!!! TMG is my 2nd or 3rd favorite band ever. <3

  • Dig Dress. Ripper Band.

    Soaring Sensational Muzik.

  • 1976 where did u go?

  • RIP TED - THOSE WERE THE DAY'S.

KIDS TODAY HAVE GOT IT BAD - MAYBE ECCEPT FOR TECHNOLOGY, BUT THATS IT.

BACK THEN IT WAS JUST THE BEST. FREE CONCERTS, LOW POPULATION, A SHIT LOAD OF RESPECT FOR ALL, AND GOOD O'L FASHION FREEEDOM AND FUN - CAN'T BEAT IT.

  • great to see ted rockin again, miss you buddy

  • I had hair that long, but 21 years in the military no body believes me.

  • I think I prefer this song to Jump in my car :).

  • The hot pink satin pants that Les is wearing! I was a member of the TMG fan club back in 1978 and I actually won a pair of these from Ted.I still own them and I wore them to school one day.I dressed up as Alice Cooper for the day for year 12 at Armidale High school in Australia. The pants got quit a reaction. I saw TMG over twenty times over the years and was heartbroken when Ted Passed away.

  • best channel i have ever subscribed to. caught ted south coast backing suzi Q the crowd wanted TMG back. thanks

  • thanks for that dude thumbs up

  • i used to see them live at harbourside pub sydney gimme a time machine and im back there

  • I own a pair of Ted Mulrys satin pants.I won them in a TMG fan club competition. They are exactly the same as the ones in this film clip! I was a big fan and saw them many times. They toured so many towns in Australia that never saw anything like them. The pants are satin and very flarred. They are red/pink.I wore them to school when I dressed up like Alice Cooper at high school. We had a weird-a-thon and who better than Alice.Armidale High school,1979.

  • nzoz1976. you have done humanity a great service.

I will nominate you for an award.

Do the united nations have one that's appropriate?

  • @australaqua 'Preserving Antipodean Rock Hits' service-award??? ha ha, thanx

  • love TMG.haven't heard em for years. lets have a reunion tour.

I'd even travel interstate to see em. are they all still kickin'.

  • @australaqua No, Ted died some years ago. Off the top of my head I can't remember if he died in 2002 or 2003.

  • Really WE did have some great Bands in AUS . Make em come Back

  • Friends of AC/DC, so they must be a good band. The drummer of this band was even in a band with Malcolm Young before AC/DC. The band was called Velvet Underground. No, not Lou Reed`s band.

  • @ManFromMelbourne I think it might have been the guitarist... Les I think he's name is...

  • @nzoz1976 his*

  • @ManFromMelbourne Les Hall was also in the same band with Mal and Herm (drummer)

  • O M G ... this is song reminds me of my grandparents and early days in Australia.

The music of the seventies in Australia was soo good .... ahuh :)

  • @DANizDAN

If you're asking that at 16 and a half, you're either a muso in the making, or a music writer in the making ... and you're already well on your way, son ...

  • @DANizDAN 22 years of collecting music videos - which means, I have been collecting clips since the age of nine....

However, many people, including the musicians, themselves, have helped me build these accounts. Unfortunately, I cannot upload too many US artists, due to strong copyright regulations. Cheers, Ryan

  • @nzoz1976

Mate you are my hero I'm an Aussie and remember these bands Cheers

  • @AussieRogue69 I remember strutting down George St, Sydney, one day. Ted on my left & Donnie Sutherland on my right. Arms linked, we were going out to lunch to celebrate Ted's single, Julia, hitting the Top 40. I was 15 yrs old, worked for Edel's Records (in Pitt St, Sydney). We celebrated by going to Woolworths Cafeteria at Town Hall for lunch! That was back in the days when record sales determined your place on the music charts. I'm proud to have been a part of Ted's career escalation.
