This stops people from coming to the school of Ahlul Bayt (as), it causes violence against us and creates disunity in the ummah. This is enough reason to make EXTREME manifestations of tabarra, like abusing personalities that are revered to our sunni brothers or burning their effigies, haram.

Grow up, read the books of hadith, read Qur'an and become a real Shia of the Ahlul Bayt (as), not a shia of mu'awiyya (La)!

Tabarra, means to disassociate or disown, so we disown and disassociate from anyone that is an enemy of the Family of The Prophet (as). Even hate them, I won't quarrel with you if you hate them. But hate in ones heart should never be displayed, because it is an ugly thing and when you behave in an ugly manner and claim to be the Shia of Ahlul Bayt (as), then you are staining the reputation of all Shia and in effect, even that of the Ahlul Bayt (as), in the eyes of non-shias.

Criticizing someone's actions and motives in a fair and decent manner, with proofs and historic accounts, in a forum where the criticism is welcome, is fine. Some of the characters that other schools revere committed acts that deserve some criticism, and its ok to examine and analyze these issues.
