I have a sense that the true definition of "throwing one's voice" has been lost. I was in a locker room once, talking to a guy named Joe. An old man passed by. He smiles at Joe, and then, from a distance, I hear someone shout "Hey Joe, how's it going?" This left me dumbfounded, staring at the rear wall of the room, which was maybe 30 feet away, because the voice seemed to be coming from twice that distance. Joe saw my stumped expression, & explained that the old man was a ventriloquist...
