  • It looks like he did a nice little dishing on it. It doesn't look hugely different, but making the butt area of the seat a little bit less sloped probably a huge difference in how it feels on the road.

  • i was startled when she said "FUCKING"...

  • asian got skill!

  • I don't want even fathom how much a similar process would cost here in the states >_< **Insert Napoleon Dynamite voice, "Luucky"

  • @oaktownpull

LOLZ! Yeah, cost me less than $20 here. If I was in the US I'd try and do it myself. There are a bunch of cool websites for DIY seat mods but can't post links in YouTube comments... Ride ON!

  • Truly a craftsman.

  • soft music soft music.......ill break this fucking door........LOL

  • Good job man!

  • man that song rocks

  • its not that much different from stock. But i guess it is up to the owner to the bike to make up his bike.If i were in his shoes,i go for radical tail look..the sharp and high tail setting..to give the impression of zx6...hehe..Cheers.

  • i just love watching him do his work ^^ its fascinating

  • Looks the same as stock.

  • @two45triox

Then I suggest you have your eyes examined ;-)

  • @marcnisam I mean the overall shape. The cover is obviously different.

  • Great Video! Very Informative and well done! What kind of knife / blade was used to shape the foam? And I assume the other round shaper was a paint can lid with nail holes punched in it lto make like a home made cheese grater tool for shaping? would love to hear from you...

  • @RoCkStAr117col

I dunno what that tune is- Originally I had some Hendrix but YouTube didn't like it... :-p

  • He's got the skills.... that for sure!!!... Dam that look sweet

  • this can top is cool! Nice job! I plan to renew my CBX 550F seat and i try to find good technics here on youtube! Your work is cool and i hope, i will able to use what i saw now! THANKS!

  • Dude - the new seat looks AWESOME! I have an 09 650R. I wish the rear seat design was more like to ZX6. I love your new seat! I wish that guy was in New York! Good luck with it. Hope its comfortable!

  • Thanks! The new seat has been great- over 10,000km with it and much more comfortable than stock. Hoping to get myself a 2010 ZX6R if/when Kawasaki decides to sell it here in Thailand.

    Ride On!

  • @sixt3denied If you like the ZX6 look, you can install the catalyst tail, but that requires you to make a seat from scratch. I went through that process on my bike, but it would have been nice to know a pro like the guy in this video for the job.

  • Hi, Have a 2007 Ninja 650r wanted to know the location of this place,.I would like something more or less. Where is this guy located. It would really bring in business for him too?

  • Bangkok, Thailand!

If you are riding an '07 I'm guessing you are NOT in Thailand as that bike was never sold here.

    Ride On!

  • Whats the name of the song at the beginning?

  • I dunno what that tune is- Originally I had some Hendrix but YouTube didn't like it... :-p

  • Wow.. cool!

I've got an 09 650r, I think my only problem with the seat is its a bit too thin for me, might have to look into something like this!

  • I have a 2009 ER6n and a 2010 Ninja 650R. The seats are identical. Ride On!

  • I can see how this will help as a support, but did he do anything to the part of the

seat where your ass actually touches it?! I've had no issues with the lack of back support, but find the seat itself to be too thin and too hard.

  • Hi!

For me I don't have any issues with the thickness of the seat, but what bothered me was the way it slopes forward. I found this forward slant quite uncomfortable on long rides so I had the rear of the seat shaved down and 'flattened' in addition to building up the back. That's what cool about being able to customize the seat- different bikers have different needs and the stock seats can't accommodate everyone.

    Ride On!

  • Sloping forward? That doesn't happen on mine. Do you, by any chance, have the rear preload all the way to the max? That's when I had the slope. Now that you got rid of it, your bum will get sore after 100 miles.. like 90% of 650r/er6 owners :)

  • I assure you the seat does slope forward and down and it's got nothing to do with the preload (which I keep at 2 clicks off max on both my ER6n and Ninja 650R. Anyway- plenty of padding left on the seat- only took off about a half inch at the back so that I can sit flatter on the seat the way I like.

    Happy Trails! Tony

  • Well that's interesting.. maybe the seat is different on the 09 650R, mine doesn't slope anywhere :) I've found the Z750 to have a nasty slope.. but I'm good.

  • @marcnisam my '09 650R seat has a huge slope into the tank and I weigh 215.... after 75-100 miles of riding, my family jewels are smashed into the tank, and I'm done riding for the day...
